Jesus Christ this game is vast. I'm overwhelmed and haven't even started it yet. About to start it up for the first time, wish me luck.
Keep It Zen waiting for the console version
I just downloaded it and I’m about to start playing and I’m really overwhelmed myself already. Hope you loved the game.
same mines downloading right now but good luck man I'll see you out there
Give us an update! How'd it go?
I’m overwhelmed as well went wizard through first act think I’m going to try enchanter
This game is honestly just simply fun.. it's been a while since I've played a game this good. If your on the border of buying this.. BUY IT. it's worth every penny.
how's the multiplayer?
no talking about coop because i have no friends to play with
Daniel AV go to the subreddit of this game and there will be plenty of people who are in your same boat. Pair up with somebody from there. Trust me. It’s worth.
i REALLLYYYY want to try this game but i have NEVER been able to get immersed in a game if it is top down/ isometric view :(
Bandit Gaming I know exactly what you mean.. if it’s not 3rd person or 1st person it just feels like an arcade game.. but trust me I wasn’t a fan of it either until I actually tried it.
Dabuu
Should I start with the first game, or is it okay if I just go head-first into the second? I was always kinda hesitant to buy the first, because I knew a sequal was coming out, so I figured that if I waited then they would improve everything and work out all the kinks. Is the first good enough to buy along with this?

I usually just murder everyone to get these items...Who knew their were sensible ways to get them
Murder is not sensible in DOS2? Shit, joke's on me I guess.
I have a Murderhobo Character as well, but he's an undead and doesn't feel like death is such a big thing. He tries to do well but often doesn't know the difference between right etiquette or pissing people off xD
I have a barbarian elf his only tag is barbarian lol. He believes in strength, gaining power and compromise through who hits harder with the biggest stick. He's not well liked either.
I murdered Kalias and he didn't have his stunner on him. I guess he only sells it?
wolfmanjacksaid pretty sure you can steal it
Lol i accidently teleported Gawin down to the entrance of the dungeons, he said "ill get you for this" when i followed him down I found the torturer magistrate had killed him. Its so cool how this game accounts for all possible actions.
Wheatley I did the same thing. When I saw this I just went "...oops"
I saved Gawin from dying up top by teleporting my own characters over there first and rushing ahead of him. But even so you will later find him dead in that ambush involving the voidwoken deep-dweller.
GAVIN! GAVIN! Have you seen my friend Gavin? .......GAVIN!
Thanks for giving us some starter tips my man! I haven't even begun playing since I can't make up my mind in character creation, so much to choose from!
It's all part of the fun! :D
Great video, I am new to DOS 2 and found this very useful. You earned yourself a sub. Keep up the great content!
Thank you :D
Thank you for watching and happy you liked it! :)
Your contents is my sources of guide's and info's from DA:I, DS3 and now This Epic Game. Thanks for your hard work 😃👍
Thank you for the nice words. Are mission is to bring the games you love to you!
Thank you! :D
So exited for Friday when this drops for my ps4. I've been playing part one and love it
Thank you so much for putting together this guide...man...so much to learn already and so much to remember hahahah
Pro tip, pickpocket at level 2 lets you steal most of the items in his list, most notably gawins robe as soon as you meet him and the sword from the lizard.
Just got the game. Thanks for the tips. Much appreciated
This is the best game I've ever played.
I started over at least 10 times, gave up twice but the game is so good I went back to it. doing ok now. DOS2 is well worth it.
At this point im just watching anything about this game until i can get back home to buy it
Fantastic guide. Knew most of these, but I didn't know a few. Enjoying the full. Release right now
Thank you and happy you're having fun! :)
big thanks to you, i've quite having a hard time wether i should make a custom character or pick an origin that has storyline
"That giant rock is moving... uhm, nothing suspicious..."
You can get a bedroll at the beginning. Right where you get the yarrow flower, above it there's a little camp on a broken bridge. At there you will get a bedroll as an item. which when you activate it out of combat regains all of your health plus gives you rested effect for three turns which protects you from muted, blind, crippled, and knock down. Also it give you a 1+ increase in strength, Finesse, and intelligence. Great for preparation before starting combat.
Gladiolus Amicitia
There's a bedroll on the boat. Literally in the third room you enter :)
fuck
@@jakeconstable Having a bedroll for every character is good for when you get separated in Act 2.
@@jakeconstable There are 3 bedrolls in that room, actually.
Thanks a lot for the tips !
Thanks for watching!
Getting ready for the PS4 release in August. Gonna need all the help I can get I think. Good guide. Thx
We'll do another one as we get closer to launch.
Thanks for the tips😺
THANKS!!!
I've never had to do so much goddamn homework just to start a game properly, goddamn
it says a lot about people into games like this when you said this game will be hard even for fans of the 1st game and I go even more excited to play
Great Spolier Videos !
Im gonna play this with a friend soon. i want to absorb all information possible. But i also don't want to spoil anything, or learn what's op and what sucks. I want the experience of learning this together.
I am really hype
lubbnetobb d
Theres also a chest near the magisters breastplate that you can sneak too and then flee. Gave same stats as magisters armor and also a blue unidentified shieild
Currently building the eternal warrior build ! Let’s see how this goes. !
Thanks!
Thank you for watching :)
This game is so fuckin great im almost tempted to work up the money to buy my friends the game to play with me.
Corey I know this is a few months later, but I'm in same boat hahaha they are on the fence about buying it and not wanting to spend money since so many good games turn out bad...
I bought Rocket League for 7 of my friends
I still play alone.
@@Direbeetus ik that feel
Hello Fextra, I recently got this game and I am planning a dual mage lone wolf build for 2 of my characters. Does it matter if I make one a custom character and have the other be a origin? Also what schools should be my focus? I plan on having all the schools by not sure how I should split them for the best combos between them.
Thanks for the video. I'm working on character creation till they fix Direct Connect.
8:29 you can also teleport the Chest down to you. So that you can get to the Loot in the Chest when you Play solo and without companions.
Better for solo, Cloak and dagger or tactical retreat though you do need to level up a bit first.
'Tantamount' means 'almost the same as', you meant 'paramount'. Cheers, thanks.
I've learned something new thanks man.
Virtually the same as
I didn't know what either of them means.
🤓🤓🤓
@@simpicusmaximus says the dude watching a Divinity video 🤡 might as well learn something while you out there geekin it up
play two player, have party member initiate conversation with vendor, sneak up behind the vendor and steal everything then run away. Easy
This is still useful today
Jesus christ ive missed so Much just started playing this weekend
Thx for the spoiler alert. Don't know what you were about to say, but I'm just learning this game, and I'm trying to understand it from a very mechanical point of view. I'm playing 3 different versions of this game all at once, once with my sister, once with my cousin, and a solo tactician game. Trying to be fully knowledgeable of the game to teach my cousin and sister, and also trying to avoid spoilers beyond act 1 as well. Thanks for that
Wow. You playing on a console?
Awesome video! Good job and can't wait for more.....
Thank you!
Thanks for watching! :D
Can you do only one quest with these companions depending on your tags or you can do em all?
Everytime I install this game I look up new player guides get intimidated by the complexity and uninstall it again
@Antonio Medeiros nothing wrong with going through the game for a while and then restarting whenever you get the feel for it. That's what I did
It's a huge change from Diablo lol where you just f'n start. So many variables in this game but that's why I wanna get into it.
@@jaiden1121you can respec whenever you want just get through fort joy and you're good
Regarding Kalias, if you speak to him as a lizard (alive or cloaked undead) other than as The Red Prince, he will ask you "which house". If you respond with the option "house of war" he will offer you a discount on his gear. Bear in mind, if you sell gear back to him, that gear will also be sold back at a discount.
You can do it with red price just denie that you are red prince
If you have the Soldier tag (Ifan or custom character), he'll give you a discount for that. Ifan also has the human racial bonus to Bartering.
For Gawain's robes, you can teleport the guy somewhere and snipe him to death.
I teleported Gawin to the first ledge where the tree stump is at and left him there. I made my way to the torturer magister dungeon and he was dead on the floor there with all of his skill books and his robe.
Its a really good new player tip guild but I think new player should read it after the first try. Maybe its just me but I enjoy the first run without knowing everything. The things you miss and the quest you fail is also a part of the enjoyment.
I agree
Bro, this guide is legit PogChamp.
Mind blown!
I decided to restart the game and am having a hard time finding the screen where the origin characters are selected. Any hints?
Most of this is where to find the good stuff starting at 5:50
Could you perhaps update this for the definitive version?
New to the game. Picked human rogue to take advantage of the guerrilla ability.
This sure is a doozy for a first time player, I’m loving it though. Thank you for all of the guides
Sincerely,
A guy from 2023
You've should have mentioned the fact that currency is incredibly important, as gaining new spells, weapons and armor often rely on how much cash you got.
The music is a lot like the wonderful music from the polish Witcher tv series
I know this is late.. but I just bought this game on ps4, and I just need to know, is it absolutely necessary to have an optimal build with an optimal party or could I get creative? (For example, a knight that can cast fire spells, or making some sort of blood mage, etc...) will I get absolutely screwed up if I dont use builds used online?
Welp. I gotta start over again... I missed all this shit XD
7:47 No need to speak to him, the gloves are there even if you did not accept the quest^^
do you have a getting started vid for the first d:os? or should i just ignore the first game and get this one?
I don't have one for that game. It is not necessary to play the first game to play the second, but it is also very very good.
I started playing on classic with a ranger and it was brutal even getting past those crocodiles, not to mention Griff's gang... I basically gave up and started again with an inquisitor + actually put some thought into party composition and how CC works (as well as stole some gear)... The game became straight up easy lol.
Kinda wish I could try higher difficulty but I didn't even get off of that island yet so I bet enemies are going to get stronger/trickier
I don't really like any of the followers that much and I'm contemplating leaving all of them for a solo playthrough but Imma need some more good skills first
pretty nice guide i must say
Thank you :)
mostly i dont expect much from guides to tell me things i dont already i know or are pretty obvious, this guide actually learned me some stuff, and everything is explained very well and pretty professional done, keep up the good work ! wish most games had guides like this :P
I know the Vid is a bit older but what is that??
4:42 Did they nerfed electric discharge later? How did you killed both without any fluid under their feed? And it looks much stronger than the one that I see normally. So was the footage from an earlier version?
He said something about not sure about changes since the alpha.. so I'm thinking it is.
I was brought here after watching the anime log horizon. Thinking about getting this game and creating a shiro character
What weapon do you get for witch?
what's the name and location of the robe Fane wears at 5:41? pls?
Just picked it up, hope i dont goof cause this looks good
I am playing with my friend and we have 2more character but my friend leads this 2 other character. How can I take one of this character ?
I started playing the first one and I thought that was massive, but its a drop in the bucket with what I can expect when I start the second one. I will miss the fact you could rob someone with no one trying to find the taken stuff.
What I do.... Split your thief off from the group. Have the group talk to the npc, then have the thief steal and then LEAVE the scene. That way, when the npc realizes and tries to search your main party, you can allow the search because the thief is long gone.
what is that rogue tag and how do i get it
Should i buy this if im only interested in playing solo ? or would i be missing out on most of the game?
Manuel Romero it's better with friends but good solo
Manuel Romero Playing solo is just as good. Just a warning though. Take the Lone Wolf perk. Trust me.
Given you can have a partner they should really call it the Lone Wolf and Cub perk.
Its the same either way
In regards to Gawin's robes, you can telly your people over first then telly Gawin. You will get to quest EXP, then simply start attacking and kill him. Not only will you get his Robes, but EXP for killing him as well. You also don't have to hassle to sneak past every guard. For the Flesh eater, you can get his ring, kill him, and take the ring back to his daughter, the magister, go to the beach and turn in quest. Once you get the quest EXP, you can then kill her for EXP and loot. If you want max loot from quest completion, you must NOT kill Morg or whatever the man eater's name is and go to the magister. You will then have to fight BOTH on the beach. A bit tougher but a bit more rewarding.
It's not that hard to fight both, I simply teleport Migo 15m away and it takes him 2 turns to get back into the fight. You can kill Yarrow in that time.
AMAZING GAME!!!!
Does any1 know if the game designers meant ppl to use telekinesis to ram heavy stuff on enemies for infinite dmg/ AP?
Can u still get Gawin's robe with the method in the video? I tried it but he leaves before my teleport is off cooldown.
Yes you can. He will always be killed so you just need to find his corpse.
You recommend I use your wiki to successfully play your game? I don't play games to refer to wikis.
I had no idea this game was out!?
Holy shit, I'm not smart enough to play this game. :/ All these skills you have to remember geez. My ADHD is laughing at me so hard right now.
I am the same, but f that shit, just gonna have fun with it my first playthrough, roleplaying and exploring. Watching this video I realise how I don't wanna be spoiled and just dive deep into it. First three hours were honostly some of the best I've had in a long time with any game
I struggle a lot as well- but there is no shame in playing on the easiest difficulty for this game! I know this comment is 3 years old but just in case someone is scrolling through and debating getting the game I felt I'd add my response. I have ADHD as well, but the easy game mode helps feel a bit more forgiving- without feeling like its holding my hand the entire time. There was one big event in the story where I was level 8, and the bad guy was level 14 with level 12 minions, and I 100% would have failed it if I wasnt on easy mode, but besides weird instances like that, the game keeps its sense of challenge without making you feel like a baby
@@alyssasowell774 on harder difficulty you will need to farm exp , you can’t fight characters higher than 1 or max 2 levels so you have to do everything in game to be able to win
10 necromancy, 20 retribution makes you nearly invincible.
If you kill Migo you get his chest+ring, the chest is pretty cool.
He deserves to be happy with Yarrow.
How did you customize your companions? Sebille doesn't have magenta hair in my game.
The different armor changes their appearance, try swapping helms from character to character they look different
From the end of Act I you get to use the "Magic Mirror" which lets you re-roll your characters an unlimited number of times. I think there is a DLC that lets you use it in Fort Joy too, but it disables achievements.
The thing I'd like to know is what happens to the companions we don't pick early on. Do they still progress with their storyline without us? do we meet them in later parts of the game?
Brandon Pollastri After you escape Fort Joy and that island as a whole your next location does in fact have the companions you did not pick and some story about what they have done during their own time in Fort Joy. Also giving you an option to change your companions entirely if you so wish.
William Hienrich Well that a relief, felt like it be a shame if you could only chose up to 3 or 4 characters, and only see the rest of them once.
Thanks, Kevin Spacey.
good one
What is a good way to strip physical and magic armor? It seems silly to think we just waste good attacks and spells in any order until we win by armor attrition.
You want to open with your skills that cause the most raw damage, and save the crowd control skills for enemies whose armor is down. For example, don't waste a Knockdown move on enemies whose physical armor is high enough to resist the status effect. As soon as your crowd-control skills can do enough damage to chew through the remaining armor, that's when you want to use them.
The Torturer talent lets you inflict certain statuses through armor, but not all of them. Having at least one Mage with a lot of crowd control spells that work with Torturer can be a big help in the first round of combat (e.g., a Geomancer who can Slow, Cripple, and Entangle all the enemy melee fighters through their armor).
this game is the best version of this i have ever played.
u should put a link to the written guide. i cannot find it in the wiki. maybe im blind
Great vid! Did you say "tantamount" when you meant "paramount" at 2:03?
Where is this area in the ghetto where you can TP up to drop down that ladder?
It's next to the 4 magisters and the hound (near Mona).
thx for the video and the site it help me a lot
what if a kill those gard for that magister breastplate ?
You can kill them to get it. That works too.
When they mention this game being coop, can multiple people play on the same screen? Or do they mean local coop like LAN?
Great video! I like the naked grill with feathers. HAWT
splitscreen
When you got a 75 inchtv, it's always full screen, even when it's split screen.
This game can be both played on split screen or 2 players on one screen by pushing a button..
I know this comment is old but someone else might be getting this game heh
Cant find the battering ram skill book at the merchants at fort Joy??? Why
Did you check the cave? Kalias should have it.
Get Adrenaline on ALL your characters by Level 4:
1. If you have an Elf in your party, you can eat the flesh of the murder victim on the ship and get it for free. Save it for when Sebelle joins your party or you get Fane's mask of the shapeshifter back.
2. Hilde sells Scoundrel skillbooks, so buy an Adrenaline book from her every time you level up.
3. After you escape Fort Joy, Exter sells them in the Sanctuary of Amadia.
I didn't like the first game I thought it was going to be linear semi open world but it was more about staying at a town and doing quests with touch turn base, is it the same with this game?
The beginning of the first game is very much based on the town in Act 1. The second game starts similarly, but you get out of town faster imo.
Fextralife it becomes less open after the first town?
@@draculathevampire934 It becomes more.
Whoa, are you changing the camera angle without doing that awful rotate on middle mouse?
Just started the game on the PS 4, very happy so far. I´m still a bit overwhelmed by the loads of Things in Terms of skills and Talents and stuff you have to think about. I´m starting as a Ranger Dwarf ( I just liked the Outfit ) and hope I will be fine....I actually got no idea what to take care of a as a ranger ....any hints?
At which point would it be best to restart the game with a bit of helpful experience notches in my belt?
Probably after you leave Fort Joy.
@@Fextralife Thank you. Gonna do that i think.
But i still dont understand, why do you go in one way if you can get more xp from trying all solution? For example in fort joy i can escape from the fort easily after i freed the elf in the kitchen, why should i escape so early if i can slaughter the entire magister in the fort and escape with the kid and his boat below the dungeon? It will get me more xp to do so right? its kinda kill the immersion for me
Some people like to complete stuff , you don’t have to but you can which I love
@@mahmoudherbawi9774 i forgot that i played the game on easy
I HAVE KILLED HILDE, am I screwed now or what? I did it as part of the main quest line. Can I not get the items another way after her death? Please respond
Kalias in the Caverns still sells gear.
Thanks but does she sell the gear of Hilde or is Hilde's gear inconsequential? I just know she had some good gear for the early game.
2player split screen or 4 player online
I started to hit more video and the wiki but I think I'll just go blind my first one yes I'll miss a ton or screw something up but that's half the fun
