Daniel AV go to the subreddit of this game and there will be plenty of people who are in your same boat. Pair up with somebody from there. Trust me. It’s worth.
Bandit Gaming I know exactly what you mean.. if it’s not 3rd person or 1st person it just feels like an arcade game.. but trust me I wasn’t a fan of it either until I actually tried it.
Dabuu Should I start with the first game, or is it okay if I just go head-first into the second? I was always kinda hesitant to buy the first, because I knew a sequal was coming out, so I figured that if I waited then they would improve everything and work out all the kinks. Is the first good enough to buy along with this?
I have a Murderhobo Character as well, but he's an undead and doesn't feel like death is such a big thing. He tries to do well but often doesn't know the difference between right etiquette or pissing people off xD
I have a barbarian elf his only tag is barbarian lol. He believes in strength, gaining power and compromise through who hits harder with the biggest stick. He's not well liked either.

Thanks for giving us some starter tips my man! I haven't even begun playing since I can't make up my mind in character creation, so much to choose from!
Lol i accidently teleported Gawin down to the entrance of the dungeons, he said "ill get you for this" when i followed him down I found the torturer magistrate had killed him. Its so cool how this game accounts for all possible actions.
I saved Gawin from dying up top by teleporting my own characters over there first and rushing ahead of him. But even so you will later find him dead in that ambush involving the voidwoken deep-dweller.
Pro tip, pickpocket at level 2 lets you steal most of the items in his list, most notably gawins robe as soon as you meet him and the sword from the lizard.
You can get a bedroll at the beginning. Right where you get the yarrow flower, above it there's a little camp on a broken bridge. At there you will get a bedroll as an item. which when you activate it out of combat regains all of your health plus gives you rested effect for three turns which protects you from muted, blind, crippled, and knock down. Also it give you a 1+ increase in strength, Finesse, and intelligence. Great for preparation before starting combat.
Im gonna play this with a friend soon. i want to absorb all information possible. But i also don't want to spoil anything, or learn what's op and what sucks. I want the experience of learning this together. I am really hype
Regarding Kalias, if you speak to him as a lizard (alive or cloaked undead) other than as The Red Prince, he will ask you "which house". If you respond with the option "house of war" he will offer you a discount on his gear. Bear in mind, if you sell gear back to him, that gear will also be sold back at a discount.

Its a really good new player tip guild but I think new player should read it after the first try. Maybe its just me but I enjoy the first run without knowing everything. The things you miss and the quest you fail is also a part of the enjoyment.
Just bought this game still downloading lookinh foward to it very much ive been wanting to get it but kept forgetting. Sucks theres not to many new videos on this game new guides i should say hopefully nothing has changed. But games like this are best anyways the more you learn and get better
There were some patches but I think you should be ok. I have a huge collection of guides and builds, you can find everything here: divinityoriginalsin2.wiki.fextralife.com/Divinity+Original+Sin+2+Wiki
In regards to Gawin's robes, you can telly your people over first then telly Gawin. You will get to quest EXP, then simply start attacking and kill him. Not only will you get his Robes, but EXP for killing him as well. You also don't have to hassle to sneak past every guard. For the Flesh eater, you can get his ring, kill him, and take the ring back to his daughter, the magister, go to the beach and turn in quest. Once you get the quest EXP, you can then kill her for EXP and loot. If you want max loot from quest completion, you must NOT kill Morg or whatever the man eater's name is and go to the magister. You will then have to fight BOTH on the beach. A bit tougher but a bit more rewarding.
It's not that hard to fight both, I simply teleport Migo 15m away and it takes him 2 turns to get back into the fight. You can kill Yarrow in that time.
Theres also a chest near the magisters breastplate that you can sneak too and then flee. Gave same stats as magisters armor and also a blue unidentified shieild
I am the same, but f that shit, just gonna have fun with it my first playthrough, roleplaying and exploring. Watching this video I realise how I don't wanna be spoiled and just dive deep into it. First three hours were honostly some of the best I've had in a long time with any game
I struggle a lot as well- but there is no shame in playing on the easiest difficulty for this game! I know this comment is 3 years old but just in case someone is scrolling through and debating getting the game I felt I'd add my response. I have ADHD as well, but the easy game mode helps feel a bit more forgiving- without feeling like its holding my hand the entire time. There was one big event in the story where I was level 8, and the bad guy was level 14 with level 12 minions, and I 100% would have failed it if I wasnt on easy mode, but besides weird instances like that, the game keeps its sense of challenge without making you feel like a baby
@@alyssasowell774 on harder difficulty you will need to farm exp , you can’t fight characters higher than 1 or max 2 levels so you have to do everything in game to be able to win
I started playing on classic with a ranger and it was brutal even getting past those crocodiles, not to mention Griff's gang... I basically gave up and started again with an inquisitor + actually put some thought into party composition and how CC works (as well as stole some gear)... The game became straight up easy lol. Kinda wish I could try higher difficulty but I didn't even get off of that island yet so I bet enemies are going to get stronger/trickier I don't really like any of the followers that much and I'm contemplating leaving all of them for a solo playthrough but Imma need some more good skills first
I started playing the first one and I thought that was massive, but its a drop in the bucket with what I can expect when I start the second one. I will miss the fact you could rob someone with no one trying to find the taken stuff.
What I do.... Split your thief off from the group. Have the group talk to the npc, then have the thief steal and then LEAVE the scene. That way, when the npc realizes and tries to search your main party, you can allow the search because the thief is long gone.
I teleported Gawin to the first ledge where the tree stump is at and left him there. I made my way to the torturer magister dungeon and he was dead on the floor there with all of his skill books and his robe.
You've should have mentioned the fact that currency is incredibly important, as gaining new spells, weapons and armor often rely on how much cash you got.
mostly i dont expect much from guides to tell me things i dont already i know or are pretty obvious, this guide actually learned me some stuff, and everything is explained very well and pretty professional done, keep up the good work ! wish most games had guides like this :P
You don't have to play hide and seek with that kid to find the hatch or even start a quest. Just like wits 12 and dig the hole. I also feel you should of mentioned how easy it is to finish "the imprisoned elf" if you have finess 12 (most people have a ranger or theif in their party). You can pass the speech check with that and get to level 3 instantly turning in that quest, which is a huge help.
Get Adrenaline on ALL your characters by Level 4: 1. If you have an Elf in your party, you can eat the flesh of the murder victim on the ship and get it for free. Save it for when Sebelle joins your party or you get Fane's mask of the shapeshifter back. 2. Hilde sells Scoundrel skillbooks, so buy an Adrenaline book from her every time you level up. 3. After you escape Fort Joy, Exter sells them in the Sanctuary of Amadia.
Tags are for role playing. We pick them to further flesh out our character. If you’re checking a guide to see what your companions’ tags are to determine what yours will be, then this isn’t the game for you.
? That's your opinion. I have fun mixmaxing, so yes i want the best possible outcome and bonuses, not some silly roleplaying, and yes this game is for me as i had spent over 300 hours in the original dos EE min maxing, shut the fuck up kid , your opinion isn't the absolute truth.
Hello Fextra, I recently got this game and I am planning a dual mage lone wolf build for 2 of my characters. Does it matter if I make one a custom character and have the other be a origin? Also what schools should be my focus? I plan on having all the schools by not sure how I should split them for the best combos between them.
I know the Vid is a bit older but what is that?? 4:42 Did they nerfed electric discharge later? How did you killed both without any fluid under their feed? And it looks much stronger than the one that I see normally. So was the footage from an earlier version?
I honestly kinds disagree with this video. Divinity is the sort of thing that is best enjoyed when taken in naturally, not when trying to minmax stats or manipulate the conversations to hit every single questline
That's your opinion. I myself enjoy trying to min/max games like that and its less fun for me when I mess up something that could have been done better. But in not going to heckle you for your opinion because its an OPINION. Respect other people's as well.
The lower difficulty levels are there for someone who doesn't feel like min-maxing or buying new armor every level. But the game is supposed to be hard, because it increases the replay value once you get the hang of it and want a challenge. Classic mode is basically impossible if you don't metagame it, but you'll feel like a total badass if you finish. Explorer mode is "normal" difficulty, as far as I'm concerned.
I know this is late.. but I just bought this game on ps4, and I just need to know, is it absolutely necessary to have an optimal build with an optimal party or could I get creative? (For example, a knight that can cast fire spells, or making some sort of blood mage, etc...) will I get absolutely screwed up if I dont use builds used online?
I bought this game on switch realized i wasnt smart enough never touched it. Just downloaded it on pc and quickly realized i still am not smart enough. Looka good tho ima keep workin on it
A game should not need this much "additional content and guidance" just to be enjoyed to the fullest. This is simply a sign of sub-optimal or lackluster in-game guidance!
Why am I getting stomped so bad everywhere in Fort Joy? I just started and don't know how to level up enough to put up even the slightest fight against most of these guys.
What is a good way to strip physical and magic armor? It seems silly to think we just waste good attacks and spells in any order until we win by armor attrition.
You want to open with your skills that cause the most raw damage, and save the crowd control skills for enemies whose armor is down. For example, don't waste a Knockdown move on enemies whose physical armor is high enough to resist the status effect. As soon as your crowd-control skills can do enough damage to chew through the remaining armor, that's when you want to use them. The Torturer talent lets you inflict certain statuses through armor, but not all of them. Having at least one Mage with a lot of crowd control spells that work with Torturer can be a big help in the first round of combat (e.g., a Geomancer who can Slow, Cripple, and Entangle all the enemy melee fighters through their armor).
The thing I'd like to know is what happens to the companions we don't pick early on. Do they still progress with their storyline without us? do we meet them in later parts of the game?
Brandon Pollastri After you escape Fort Joy and that island as a whole your next location does in fact have the companions you did not pick and some story about what they have done during their own time in Fort Joy. Also giving you an option to change your companions entirely if you so wish.
I have started calling this game fort joy. Because everytime I get through fort joy I feel like I need to restart. So I have only been through fort joy. About 10 times
From the end of Act I you get to use the "Magic Mirror" which lets you re-roll your characters an unlimited number of times. I think there is a DLC that lets you use it in Fort Joy too, but it disables achievements.
i ran around the fort, i got the gloves off the crocs.... i couldnt get the whole party to teleport cuz 1 person has to do it to others, 1 char got into the under-prison, everyone was seperated, and i lost interest. Going to use the info in this video and give it another go.

I thought my cat jumped on the kitchen again :)
You recommend I use your wiki to successfully play your game? I don't play games to refer to wikis.
1:59 Not a big deal, but "tantamount" means "equivalent in effect or value", not "of the utmost importance". Great content, btw.
do you have a getting started vid for the first d:os? or should i just ignore the first game and get this one?
I don't have one for that game. It is not necessary to play the first game to play the second, but it is also very very good.
Sooo I know this is 3 yrs ago but uhhh I’m about to start my first playthrough😂😂 choosing cleric tank till I figure the game out more.
I had no idea this game was out!?
Great vid! Did you say "tantamount" when you meant "paramount" at 2:03?
Protip: summoning is broken, just use 4 summoners and you are unstoppable
Run away a lot. Until you can recruit allies and get some experience for quest discoveries, avoid combat
Use the sneak ability to move around and stay out of the red areas which indicate where you'll be discovered
Red Prince for the win!!!
Can you do only one quest with these companions depending on your tags or you can do em all?
The thing I'd like to know is what happens to the companions we don't pick early on. Do they still progress with their storyline without us? do we meet them in later parts of the game?
Brandon Pollastri After you escape Fort Joy and that island as a whole your next location does in fact have the companions you did not pick and some story about what they have done during their own time in Fort Joy. Also giving you an option to change your companions entirely if you so wish.
William Hienrich Well that a relief, felt like it be a shame if you could only chose up to 3 or 4 characters, and only see the rest of them once.
I have started calling this game fort joy. Because everytime I get through fort joy I feel like I need to restart. So I have only been through fort joy. About 10 times
Lol I did same until I knew every single encounter in fort joy
what's the name and location of the robe Fane wears at 5:41? pls?
How did you customize your companions? Sebille doesn't have magenta hair in my game.
The different armor changes their appearance, try swapping helms from character to character they look different
From the end of Act I you get to use the "Magic Mirror" which lets you re-roll your characters an unlimited number of times. I think there is a DLC that lets you use it in Fort Joy too, but it disables achievements.
I hope this game comes to the Switch!
Cameron West lol
Levi Levi hey, a man can dream can't he?!
Here it is😂
Don’t have a pc to play BG3, so imma pick up Dos2
DOS 2 seems to be better anyways lol
@@Soradakanizat after finishing both games, I prefer Bg3, tho I am a dnd fan soo I do have a bias
u should put a link to the written guide. i cannot find it in the wiki. maybe im blind
i ran around the fort, i got the gloves off the crocs.... i couldnt get the whole party to teleport cuz 1 person has to do it to others, 1 char got into the under-prison, everyone was seperated, and i lost interest. Going to use the info in this video and give it another go.
This game is far too complicated for my feeble mind. Too bad because it looks great.
