About Me
“The world needs more makers.” ~ RoyerX
Being from a family of creatives whose motto was to produce not to consume was etched into Kyle from a very early age and being educated at home gave him many opportunities to work hard at his own creative pursuits.
At eighteen, Kyle graduated high school and two weeks later received his Journeyman Smith Stamp and a rare double win of the George Peck Award and Bill Moran Award, “the 18-year-old prodigy”, “the blazing bladesmith” was what BLADE Magazine labeled him. Following that victory in November, 2009 BLADE Magazine ran a special five page spread “That Young and That Good”, the article went on to say “His ability to masterfully execute new designs, processes and artistic damascus patterns is remarkable. In spite of his young age, his fit/finish and attention to detail is representative of some of todays most known and sought after makers.” He was one of two to achieve Mastersmith by the age of twenty. His knives and his skills are highly sought after worldwide.
In the early years, if you weren’t at a knife show or a hammer-in, learning from the masters, information was hard to find, there was no online content and only a few books and videos, so it was a lot of trial and error in the knife shop. Kyle is passionate to teach makers his more than fourteen years of experience.
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” We hope we can inspire you on your maker’s journey.
Thanks for watching
Enjoy!

What a stunning piece. Kyle thank you for making the Stiletto and Josh thank you for letting us see how it was made. Thank you Royer Team.
:D Thanks :D
one genious knifemaker commentin another genious knifemaker's video , amazing
I found this channel several months ago thanks to Tely.
@@StickySubstance This is one of my favorite channels to watch. SOOOOO much to learn from all the tips and tricks. Free knife making University.
@@SLAVIKTELY you're absolutely right Tely. Awesome Craftsman 👌
To be able to say, “I own a Royer”, must be surreal... Beautiful.
Thanks Eric
Merry Christmas
Kyle
Merry Christmas to you all.
I am going to own a Royer short sword one day!
and yes, it will be used to plunge into the brains of the alien overlord mega boss.
If I owned a Royer I'd feel like a Royel.
It's so pristine that even individual specks of dust stand out glaringly. I envy the man who's going to be stabbed by this stiletto.
I thought the same regarding the individual dust specks. Even the smallest lint fiber shows up!
I would jump IN FRONT of the man who was about to be stabbed by this knife, it's so beautiful!!!
"It looks like a Skyrim mod weapon with way too high detail levels to fit into the game, but in real life" - My brother walking by and seeing the final pictures
This is legendary, it's like something you'd find in the heart of some insanely difficult dungeon in a fantasy RPG game
This literally looks like an enchanted weapon from a video game but in real life. It's so beautiful and it literally glows with the polish you gave it. That blackened mirror polish finish always just makes my jaw drop with how beautiful it is.
You're a superb craftsman. You also talk excessively of how wonderful your works are. Your creation speaks of your skill, itself.
Haha that longing/love type music over the stiletto explanation was so good! Perfectly signifies the awe Kyle feels for his work
Hey thanks Chris. Chao.
Dad
Probably the most beautifull knife I haver seen! Your attention to details and craftmanship is second to none! Just beautifull! I only hope I will be able to aford one of your knives in the future. 👏👏👏
@DATING HARLEY QUINN yes I have
Thanks guys
Glad you’re here with us
Happy new year
Dad
the blue ball jokes must have been flying around the shop
He is so satisfied by assembling this beauty!
I like the fact you explain things beyond what needs said. Makes me feel normal with my ocd on the way i teach people how to do things. Im not alone LOL. Love your work.
😳 WOW! That’s beautiful.
Your attention to detail is off the charts.
Thanks Anthony
Happy new year
Team Royer
That black mirror ball was so shiny you could see the reflection of the cameraman. fabulous peice of work.
So, so, so beautiful. Such an astounding piece of expert workmanship. It's just such a glorious object. It's truly a sublime work of art.
Hey thanks Andrew
I am sure you have been told this but you have a gift from GOD. That is the most beautiful knife i have ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous. So glad you and your brother post these videos.

Thats the best looking knife I have ever seen. The way the handle reflects the light is just beautiful and the mosaik damascus looks like the Universe.... the white parts like galaxies and the black parts like the endless dark......gorgeous.
Thanks Niklas
Happy new year
Kyle
I wish you a happy new year too
I think without that pommel the entire handle guard assembly wouldn't look so good. The pommel is beautiful
I do love the fact that he praises his own work. It is a very rare thing for talented artists. Usually they are disparaging their own work, despite it being miles better than anything a mere peasant might create.
Thanks Technological
Good observation

It was worth the wait! It turned out beautifully, Kyle! Those black chrome accent balls definitely bring it to another level, and then gold in the flutes gives it just a touch of warmth as well. Thanks for taking us along with you on these projects in such a detailed way, your channel is definitely a unique treasure trove. Congrats on blowing away your first stiletto lol

A black balls story
Amazing work!!!
That complete series was a joy to watch the attention to detail is second to none.like everybody else on here I watch more than several craftsmen on UA-cam doing a whole myriad of jobs all at a amazing grade of craftsmanship and finish quality but when I want to watch a sheer perfectionist making probably one of the most stunningly beautiful knives ever struck I grab a brew put my feet up and press play
Hey thanks Mark
Good to have you with us
Got more com’n
We have a fun Christmas vid coming

Yes yes, the knife is very impressive indeed! But whats even more impressive is the amount of times this man can say "balls" in any configuration and not even giggle
Kyle, I really appreciate all of what you do for us knife makers. Your work is is absolutely off the charts. Thanks again.
Thanks!
FINALLY!!!! A new stiletto is born! You should give it a proper name after all the hard work and time spent on it! Maybe even a naming competition!
We will consider that

Wonderful piece Josh. I enjoy your design choices as much as I do your craftsmanship. That and your Japanese-level mastery of process. You're a young lad, I can't imagine what you will be able to do 20 years down the line.
Very well. A piece of museum. Congratulations!
If you see the ending, it is impossible to believe that this was done by a man! Divine work !!! 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
I don't think I have seen a more beautiful knife. You are every bit the master bladesmith, and serve as a constant inspiration to me and I'm sure many others. Fantastic work!

Sometimes when I have finished a knife project I look around at all the similiar material i couldve used, even hold it up to my finished work and think wow This couldve been this. but this, meaning the similiar material doesnt even look like its the same material anymore. Then watching Kyle's finished work it hit me the finished project has a piece of him in it, like its been given a sense of spirit maybe even presense? I know kinda deep and cheesy but this is what i was thinking when I saw the finished stiletto. Kyle, I think every man knows that in life there are levels to any endeaver he strives to do with any bit of excellence. The level you are on must be very lonely, simply amazing work.
Hey savos
Well said

Yes, Loctite is a special glue because it hardens out if NOT exposed to oxygen. Thats why you buy them new and its already half empty. Loctite has a verry good website to learn more about industrial glue
Incredible! Just incredible. You Sir, are a true artist! Watching you work is an absolute joy. I am not a blade smith and I have zero talent with metal but I find what you do fascinating. Absolutely stunning! Another great series of another phenomenal build, the care and attention given to every small detail is mind blowing. I also like Josh's style where he leaves the 'brother banter' at the beginning or end of each scene in the videos, like telling you pulling the blade out of the ferric chloride should be slow and dramatic.
You must be one of the humblest men on UA-cam, when you talk about a piece it’s almost like it was made by the bladesmithing pixies have made it. If it was me I’d be saying "LOOK WHAT I'VE DONE! YES I'VE DONE THIS! YES, ME, ME, ME!" And yes I would be shouting it.
Just as good as the stiletto are the family unity and values that come through all your videos, it’s wonderful to see the love you all have for each other.
Brilliant, loved every second.
You're the best, in any aspects of knife making...
Keep on... ❤️
Thanks hosseyn
