This is utterly heartbreaking. Imagine this being your own son, your own baby. He may have been a big lad but he was only a kid - with his whole life ahead of him 😭 I’m so sorry for his family and what they must be going through
So sad, so horrific they should have warnings while waiting in line and signs that explain better in case people want to get out of line it’s not for them
I can't imagine the call his parents received that their son passed away. My heart is breaking for them. I pray the parents will receive answers they deserve. Praying for them and the extended family
Hearing his Dad say that he knew something was wrong and to tell his parents he loves them just broke my heart into a million pieces! The operator had a duty of care to this young man and they failed him and I hope they will be held accountable. As his dad says he was a very tall lad at 6ft 5 and was turned away from many of the rides for his height so why did they allow him on this one. As a parent I cant even begin to imagine what his parents are going through :(
In one of the videos that were posted you can see where the worker in the red didn’t even check his harness. I feel so bad for his friends or friend that was on the ride with him and for his family 🥺
the people working should have checked the seats. im sure he thought he would be fine on the seat and wanted to have fun.. it wasn't his fault at all. everytime I get in rides, even though I'm pretty small for my age, the workers check my seat and the strings to keep me in place.hell, they even tug and try yanking it to make sure that me, and everyone else on the ride, are safe to go before they start the ride. im honestly so disappointed at all of the workers there for not checking on everyone who is going on the ride!! its their job to do it. to tug and yank and if it comes loose then its not safe at all! if someone is "too big" or "too small" for a ride they should be taken off nicely. its such a shame this poor young man got his life taken so soon while he was trying to have fun :(.
I can’t imagine being a parent that sends my baby off for a fun spring break trip and have to make arrangements to bring his dead body back. I know this broke everyone’s heart. This is so unfortunate and I’m so sorry this happened to him. Prayers and condolences to his family and friends especially the ones who witnessed this. So sad smh.
As a father of a son the same age, I am truly sorry for your loss. This would be so heartbreaking for me and I would be devastated for life. This should never happen to anyone . It’s painful because we want our kids to go out and have fun but we also can’t keep them attached to the hip. Life is already so hard to deal with and something like this is just devastating. 🙏
O yeah, Dad seems really torn up about it. 🤨Already planting seeds for the lawsuit. “ he was panicking”, “why they let him on?” I wonder if this Dad even knows this “young man”. I doubt my father would even be able to speak on a camera let alone recount my last actions and words so candidly.
@@monkey3964 this occurrence is F’d up on so many levels. Everything is speculation at this point, but still very sad nonetheless. Just another reminder that life is so precious and every moment should be cherished because you never know when this could be the last day you live or last night you sleep. Chilling.
I just can’t stop shaking my head. As a mother of a child of similar age it breaks my heart. We let your kids grow up and go places and do things so they can mature and grow. And then stuff like this happens makes you hold them tight.

Take the ride down in respect for the family and friends. Don't care how much they lose, a family has lost their son. As a mom with a 16 year old, I am in full tears. Condolences.
they'll only take it down if theres multiple deaths from it, thats usually the condition. they'll maintence checks addional safety options and if another death occurs afterwards then theyll take it down. Im basing this on rides that have had deaths from them. usually it takes several for a ride to be permanetly removed
They built the ride with a over the shoulder restraint and built no seat belts into it. Being that big on a drop tower where the seats tilt with no seat belt... someone at some point will fall. And thats what happened.
This is my greatest fear. Sad thing is, the friends parents will more than likely blame themselves when it wasn't even their fault. Prayers to the victim's family and the friends family.

RIP big fella... I saw a photo of him and his 2 friends on that ride and you can clearly see the thing wasn't down all the way. RIP sweet boy!! The friend sitting next to him said that the young boy was telling him that something was wrong and that the harness was moving on the way up. He said “If I don’t make it down then please tell my mama and dad that I love them.” The dad commented on the news that his son had been turned away from several rides that day due to his weight and doesn’t know why they allowed him to ride it. This was no accident. The harness didn’t fit him and he didn’t realize it was loose until it started moving. I wish he had screamed to stop the ride but he was probably in shock plus they probably wouldn’t have heard him anyways since it’s so loud in theme parks. They should have an emergency button for every seat. According to the park operator, the ride won’t start unless the harnesses are fully secure and in the green which tells me it was a malfunction with the safety light. It should have never went green. There’s no way the harness would close with someone weighing 340 pounds. The park needs to be held accountable and have weight restrictions with ALL rides!!!
The ride operator was lying about seeing the light on. That is the most plausible scenario. I agree with almost all of what you said except for every seat having the ability to stop the ride. That would not be practical. If you deem a ride unsafe with your own personal judgment, which we all have the ability of, then you should not ride that particular ride. Not the riders fault I think a lot of restraints are designed to be minimal, to add to the fear factor and possibly the thrill level. I think they could be better designed. I love thrill rides but usually don't like the minimal restraints most rides have.
@@lchaney You cant dispatch it until the light is on. The safety system wont allow it. Even if there were overides it would need to be in matienence mode and in that case I'm pretty sure all restraints need to be open. Id say its faulty restraint or my friend made a point on how they used the same restraints for this as the other free falls but they never made a free fall where it tilts the riders at the top. When you tilt the riders the force is applied differently and require a different restraints to account for it.

@Jesus has given you all. Repent or die. Hello. I appreciate your enthusiasm to share the gospel with others, and I know God appreciates it as well; but copying and pasting comments about salvation on random comments on videos that don't have to do with salvation directly is more damaging than helpful. Christians and non-Christians alike get annoyed seeing messages spammed on other people's videos and comments (even if the intention is for those people to come to Christ). For a non-believer, it is far more likely that instead of looking into Biblical things more, they will get mad about seeing the message repeated over and over again, and it will make them want to have nothing to do with God at all. I strongly suggest keeping comments about salvation only on videos where that is important in the video, or in replies to people who have already started the conversation about God. And try not to just copy and past the same thing over and over again on other people's comments, that will just make people mad and not want to listen. I pray that your efforts are fruitful, and that you will reach many people for Christ before His return!

Did the person that adjusted the harness settings know that they were creating a deathtrap? That's all I want to know...because if they did, they should be criminally charged. This was a horrible occurrence. What that poor boy must have gone through mentally and physically before dying is unfathomable.
The dude didn’t deserve this… I was once in a similar situation but managed to scream “STOP THE RIDE” and was lucky that I got heard. Back then I was shocked and almost didn’t think to scream to stop the ride out of pure anxiety and panic. RIP, hope you are in a better place now 😔
That pisses me the fuck off. This could have been avoided by a extra latch seatbelt connecting to the overhead harness. Hope the family Sue's the shit out of the ride manufacture and operater to the point they go out of business. If this is how they make and operate rides they need to be shut down. Sorry for the loss of the family that's so sad.
Exactly!! I can't believe this ride was allowed to operate in the first place?! Who the hell initially inspected this ride and gave it the a-ok? This was totally preventable had the company been willing to spend a few extra dollars. The State of Florida needs better safety inspectors or rules or something.
Thank you because I've heard of ride accidents before but from the beginning of this story all you see is neglect from the workers to the ppl who designed the ride. There's not even a safety belt for if something like this happens to be the back up to the pull over harness like wtf.
You can see in the pictures that the harness wasn't locked close properly. He was too heavy for it to close down. Absolute terrible thing to happen. RIP and God bless to his family. Those incompetent workers should be individually pulling on every harness to make sure they're clicked into place first. how this could have happened and how avoidable it was is shocking.
Man not even just that. In the video you can see he’s just too big to be on it. They should’ve never let him ride that ride. It probably clicked that one time. Rides like that usually have a couple different locking clicks in the harness so you know it’s fully secured. I truly believe had it been a smaller person in that situation it would’ve been corrected immediately because it would’ve been clear it’s too high and not fully locked.The speed otw down plus the force of the stop ultimately made enough force for him to bust it open and fall. That harness was just too high but because he was big it appeared he was secure.
But I really wonder why it's even technically possible for this thing to start without ALL the brackets being locked. Human checks will always be prone to human error.
Oh no! My children and I were at different amusement parks in Orlando last year. As a mother, I am shaking. My heart bleeds for the boy and his family.

Then, something else I did not realize and would never have ridden the ride had I known, once you are up at the highest level, all the seats tilt forward and downward so most your body weight is now resting on the harness and not the seat. I do not recall now if there was a backup safety belt that attaches the harness to the seat. I feel so bad for this boy and his family. This kind of thing should just never happen.
According to another video I watched, the company had petitioned specifically not to have seatbelts, saying the harness had a double-locking system that fulfilled the requirements. They have only been open a few months & already this has happened. If they re-open this ride, there would have to be massive protocol changes. Orlando can’t be seen as the place where tourists risk their lives when riding rides.
If you look closely that shoulder harness it was NOT SECURELY FASTENED and uniformly level with the others insuring it was locked. This was a GROSS negligence of security for the rider here and you can even hear the operator with the red beanie call it right before the ride went up. The ride should have never been started until EVERYONE was securely fastened. He should have stopped the ride went he yelled out "check your seatbelt on the left side!". GROSS NEGLIGENCE OF SAFETY.
You're one of the very few people who noticed..."Have you checked your seatbelt on the left side?... Seatbelt? Seatbelt?". The worker never checked his harness because he was too busy running his mouth talking to the other three people. That should be enough to convict for negligence and manslaughter right there.
But the lady he was talking to prior asked if there were seatblets and he said no. So the "check your seatblets on the left" was a joke and sadly prophetic. I will add that the kick back or bounce may have had his 350lb body pushing upwards against the harness. Very tragic! There should be a weight limits and seatblets! Prayers for Tyree and the Samson family 🙏 ❤
This ride doesn’t actually have any seatbelts apparently operators say that almost every time messing out riders according to many that have ridden this exact ride
The fact that the reporter was getting emotional while reporting this incident speaks volumes this is really sad I wished they would have just let him off the ride rather then letting him on it may he Rest In Peace this is just so sad 🥺🥺🥺❤️
Sadly, because of his size the shoulder harness was unable to latch and lock properly and with the speed and momentum of the ride coming down at such a high rate of speed it caused this young man to slide right out. I can only imagine how terrifying the last moments of this child's life must of been 😞 This is 100% negligence on the ride operator and park's behalf! Every single seats harness with a person in it should have been check before the ride began and this would have never happened! He knew something wasn't right as he was going up, he spent the last moments of his young life panicked and scared to death. This absolutely breaks my heart! I pray he went quickly and didn't suffer while at the hospital.. 😞 Praying for peace and comfort for his mom and dad and family and friends. Also praying for the people who witness this horrifyingly scary and sad tragedy! 🙏🙏🙏 RIP Tyree!
They are saying the ride operator was written up multiple times for not doing safety checks according to redit. Its a kid that had another kids life in his hands. They also say his managers when other employees made complaints they looked the other way.
exactly he was too tall and too heavy. A lot of people may know that there are weight limitations but many don’t realize there are also height limitations. I remember looking up weight and height limitations a lot of rides tap out at like 6’2-6’4 250-315
You can see him struggling with something at the top. I see his feet really wiggling. Such a horrific tragedy. I can’t stop my eyes from filling with tears. They should have taken him off.
And that is why there are employees to make sure that people qualify in the height and weight requirements for a ride. That did not happen in this case. It’s negligence. You can see in the vid he wasn’t secured.
This wasn’t an accident, it’s complete negligence. There are no additional safety measures should the harness itself fail. Where are the additional seatbelts that click together after the harness has been secured? All you can rely on is a harness? Absolute negligence.
Then on top of that they got children supervising children AND adults. Untrained, inexperienced kids operating heavy machinery at minimum wage like its a job at a grocery store. These are peoples lives and ICON is definitely going to feel that family’s wrath.
I can’t imagine the pain his mom and dad is going through right now.And also his friends seen him fall to this death.Praying for his family and friends my prayers and condolences to them.I never trusted rides like this
This is EXACTLY why I never get on those rides. Just knowing something like that could happen is enough for me not to get on it. May God have mercy on that poor child's soul and may he be the source of strength and peace for those who miss him. Such a sad incident.
Blaming the ride is stupid. The car ride there is 1,000 times more dangerous. The ride operator is at fault here. He never checked the restraints. The kids chest restraint wasn't locked and it was obvious. Ride operator is supposed to go around and check every rider before starting the ride.
@@EUC_DeathRay Its not the operators fault, Its not anyones fault. Stop blaming people. Just come to the facts and face them. The boy was overweight and it wouldnt clip down. As soon as the boy realized that the seatbelt wouldnt come down, he should have got off and found another ride to go on. That could have been prevented
@@EUC_DeathRay i havent heard anything that puts the ride operator at blame. Something breaks or malfunctions its not the ride operators fault. Don't blame people blindly. If it ends up being his fault, than so be it but dont assume

Love... Once there--doesn't go away; It doesn't disappear, when you feel your heart break; It might seem dim to you, at times, that's because you are having to look through--your pain; But...the love once shared--never goes away; Love... Is just as real as ever--regardless of any mistake; In fact, it is only love that will make it through whatever--even the loss of a loved one cannot make love to dissipate; You know that this is true, you can feel it--it is in your heart and mind, it is evident in the thoughts that you think; Because...the love once shared--never goes away; Love... At times, because of love--you, will, frown; But, sadness is really a representative of love, like a sign of, not a disqualifier--for, it is the longing for or disappointment--love--that gets us down; No matter what life throws at you, it is love that will show you the way; Undeniable...love once shared-- never goes away; Love... Will help you through your hurt, and in time--help to fill the voids, or make repairs, little by little, of the scars of your heart; It will pick you up, and even pull you through, when you feel that you cannot go anymore--and, can even help you to find, and make, a new start; Don't count love out, when you feel that it has started to fade; For...God's greatest gift to us is love, and... Once shared--it never goes away. My friends, though life may be testing you right now, and you are hurting or disappointed, or whatever the case may be, you WILL make it through it all; and, eventually, whether you feel it is possible right now or not, you will be on the far side of these struggles and realizing: "Remember those days, I never thought I'd be here, but...here I am, I made it", please believe that, because it is true. I hope this encourages someone out there. Don't forget to share love every chance that you get because...once shared--it never goes away! :) ---RHALL ⁰⁴ ⁰² ²⁰²²
Deaths that happen on amusement park rides are never an “accident”. It is always human error, whether in design, maintenance, the workers, or the victim or others around them. It said this ride was brand new, meaning it could easily have had a problem to start with. This is an incredibly odd thing to happen, especially since it is new, there wasn’t much time for anything to go wrong after it was first built. I think the safety mechanisms were faulty. Rip, poor kid. I’m so sorry.
@@garealemcgill6967 there was no belt, only the harness. When the ride came down, the harness he was in, was COMPLETELY down, further than when the ride went up. The ride doesn't MOVE unless all harnesses are in "safety lock" which is determined by a green light. The only way his weight is part of this, is because it kept the harness from closing enough for his personal body type before the ride went up. I hate that the operator told him to check his seat belt, AFTER the ride was going up already.
@@garealemcgill6967 it's definitely the workers fault. They should've checked him properly instead of just looking at a light. If they had looked at him, they would've realized that the harness OBVIOUSLY was not fitting him properly and should've told him to get off. Not to mention, the ride wasn't built properly. There should've been something in-between his legs to prevent him from sliding off the way he did. There was no belt and nothing in-between his legs, only the harness.
They did not check his seat, if they did they would have known that his belt didn't lock. Sad story but the workers need to be faulted for that. Prayers to his family
There should be a huge lawsuit against the park to show all other parks this is unacceptable. There needs to be better training and serious people concern with safety operating these rides.
Could it be the belt was too snug on the fat boy and he unbuckled it then slid out like Jello on the freefall? We must consider all scenarios. I can see the cancel culture wanting to demo the ride now.
@@stellarwind1946 it was locked but he wasn’t properly secured. It’s the personnel’s job to make sure everyone is fit for the ride. They should have checked him and got him off for being to big. He might’ve been embarrassed but at least he would’ve been alive.

Ikr awful.
240 pounds not 340
This 💯 and yes that would be cool for every rider seat to have an emergency shut off
The ride operator was lying about seeing the light on.

Love...
Once there--doesn't go away;
It doesn't disappear, when you feel your heart break;
It might seem dim to you, at times, that's because you are having to look through--your pain;
But...the love once shared--never goes away;
Love...
Is just as real as ever--regardless of any mistake;
In fact, it is only love that will make it through whatever--even the loss of a loved one cannot make love to dissipate;
You know that this is true, you can feel it--it is in your heart and mind, it is evident in the thoughts that you think;
Because...the love once shared--never goes away;
Love...
At times, because of love--you, will, frown;
But, sadness is really a representative of love, like a sign of, not a disqualifier--for, it is the longing for or disappointment--love--that gets us down;
No matter what life throws at you, it is love that will show you the way;
Undeniable...love once shared-- never goes away;
Love...
Will help you through your hurt, and in time--help to fill the voids, or make repairs, little by little, of the scars of your heart;
It will pick you up, and even pull you through, when you feel that you cannot go anymore--and, can even help you to find, and make, a new start;
Don't count love out, when you feel that it has started to fade;
For...God's greatest gift to us is love, and...

I rode this ride when it first came out with my 11-year-old daughter. The ride goes terrifyingly high. I did not realize until I was up there that it goes higher than the ferris wheel which is already one of the highest in the world.
There isn’t , needs to be one tho
There isn't any belts. Just the harness.
I hope the employer made these ride operators stay put, and had them immediately drug-tested to see if any or all of them were friggin high.
@@lostkoz7934 I agree. That red beanie guy needs to be questioned. Justice needs to be served.
The fact that the reporter was getting emotional while reporting this incident speaks volumes this is really sad I wished they would have just let him off the ride rather then letting him on it may he Rest In Peace this is just so sad 🥺🥺🥺❤️
My deepest condolences to the family of this young man.
@@jlynnb82 And those workers are responsible for not allowing him on that ride.
Must add for safety precautions
Please do not adult and teen prevention
Then on top of that they got children supervising children AND adults. Untrained, inexperienced kids operating heavy machinery at minimum wage like its a job at a grocery store. These are peoples lives and ICON is definitely going to feel that family’s wrath.
Exactly!
MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE FAMILY.
No way in Hell should he been allowed on that ride. Operator clearly didn’t inspect his shoulder lock device. This is negligence 101
If the ride was locked properly the ride would not run. It has a safety.

Love...
Once there--doesn't go away;
It doesn't disappear, when you feel your heart break;
It might seem dim to you, at times, that's because you are having to look through--your pain;
But...the love once shared--never goes away;
Love...
Is just as real as ever--regardless of any mistake;
In fact, it is only love that will make it through whatever--even the loss of a loved one cannot make love to dissipate;
You know that this is true, you can feel it--it is in your heart and mind, it is evident in the thoughts that you think;
Because...the love once shared--never goes away;
Love...
At times, because of love--you, will, frown;
But, sadness is really a representative of love, like a sign of, not a disqualifier--for, it is the longing for or disappointment--love--that gets us down;
No matter what life throws at you, it is love that will show you the way;
Undeniable...love once shared-- never goes away;
Love...
Will help you through your hurt, and in time--help to fill the voids, or make repairs, little by little, of the scars of your heart;
It will pick you up, and even pull you through, when you feel that you cannot go anymore--and, can even help you to find, and make, a new start;
Don't count love out, when you feel that it has started to fade;
For...God's greatest gift to us is love, and...

Rest in peace, and I share my condolences to the victim's family and friends.
I agree.. definitely faulty. But I think someone knew that...so sad.
No he was overweight if u that big the belt could had came undone
100% false things malfunction so say it that is not true
They did not check his seat, if they did they would have known that his belt didn't lock. Sad story but the workers need to be faulted for that. Prayers to his family
There should be a huge lawsuit against the park to show all other parks this is unacceptable. There needs to be better training and serious people concern with safety operating these rides.
Could it be the belt was too snug on the fat boy and he unbuckled it then slid out like Jello on the freefall? We must consider all scenarios. I can see the cancel culture wanting to demo the ride now.
The ride can’t start if a harness is unlocked.
Look at how the racists are coming out now that they know the race of the boy. Now all of sudden is his fault.
@@stellarwind1946 it was locked but he wasn’t properly secured. It’s the personnel’s job to make sure everyone is fit for the ride. They should have checked him and got him off for being to big. He might’ve been embarrassed but at least he would’ve been alive.

This is a messed up situation of unfortunate events, the level of ignorance is on the Orlando Park and the boys family. At 14 he knew he was too big for those rides and kept trying to get on one.
