I applied to a dance school in my down and they told me I wasn't good enough to be in a beginner class.... Like where should I learn?? 😂😂 I obviously didn't chose the school, I picked one that let me go into a beginner class & I even can take pointe classes now
@@L304ee25 I started ballet November 2019. Before that I did barre (fitness) classes for a couple of months, and I did hip hop for around 4 years before that. So I kind of practiced, and I came from a background of dance.

I did dance about 6 or 7 years ago and started picking it up again, I’ve always done it for fun but now I’m taking it more serious and honestly dance has become such an important part of my life now. I’ve been at it for about six month and it’s all self taught (due to covid and the lack of classes for people my age) I never got over being forced to quit and picking it up again has brought me a lot of joy and something to look forward to when I wake up. It always gives me something to fall back on when I’m stressed. No matter how far you wanna take it, even if it’s just a phase I encourage you to give it your all

You are so right! It depends on so many points. I‘ve been dancing for 15 years, but at some points I‘m still feeling like a beginner, because I got in touch with so many types of dancing (ballet, jazz, salsa, tango, etc). So we didn‘t quite concentrate on the one thing. So I still don‘t know how my level of dancing is, because I took clases one time a week, sometimes 2. And you are right you kind of stay at your level but on the other sides you kind of improve your skills by doing it like a routine. Since I needed to left my group I tried to improve by myself but its kind of hard. So yeah I think I should work ways harder as you said! Its not enough to train once a week. For me the FUN is the most important thing and just FEEL the MUSIC!
There’s also a whole bunch of 3 maybe 4 day a week high school aged ballet dancers straddling the line between intermediate and advanced because most studios do 3x a week classes so pointe work can be done.
I know EXACTLY what level I'm on: absolute beginner #learningfromyoutube Love ur channel by the way! I'm only learning from videos and you have taught me a lot!

So I should be advanced because I’ve been dancing for 8 years but then I stopped at 16 for 5-6 years and got back into dancing 4 years ago xD but I never danced jazz and ballet, only Latin American dances and contemporary, also 4 years of hip hop, but my focus was always in Latin American dances. I now dance contemporary and Latin American again, but without a partner. So it’s a bit confusing to know NOW where I am. I also started jazz 2 years ago. so i did dance for 3 years and competed for 2 of them. i then left my studio after recital of year 3 bc of some drama. i did a few summer classes the next summer but didn't stick to anything. now, after june 4 years ago, i'm starting some classes with a friend! the lady in charge of the studio made a class for us and one other girl which is leaps and turns and alternating between jazz funk and musical theater every week. i am really excited, but also kinda nervous bc i also have to start online while they're in person, and just bc i've been out of it for a while. they also don't do it by levels (at least not to my knowledge, i've never danced here before) and it's like 1 class combined with those.
That was helpful, thank you. I’m learned basics for tons of dances but I’m primarily a bachata and salsa dancer. More recently I’ve started to put some work in to learn and improve in contemporary and this gives me some context as to what I need to do to improve, specifically the parts about classes per week and class difficulties. Thanks again!
I love to watch your videos since I am an Indian I follow your tips and I have a great result in dance not even dance even in my flexibility thank you so much 😘
I’m an adult in my thirties who has been dancing for 9-10 months, 4-6 classes a week, in addition to floor barre, speed barre, and ballet conditioning classes and stretching. i ve been dancing for almost two years , and i all i can say is that im not a begginer , ik its part of it as you said , im not trying to brag but i can do intermediate/advance tricsk like fouettes, many kinds of jumps and most important piruettes (my favourites) . I have a great flexibility .
okay so i’m going into my 3rd year of dance and this is my second year of doing jazz, last year my studio put me into jazz 2 and it was FAR too easy, even my dance teacher saw i was learning the choreography faster than everyone else and how easy it was for me. however i have an option to move up two levels or just go up one but i feel going up two levels will be too hard, but moving up just one will be too easy😭 i have no clue what to do and i don’t wanna embarrass myself with the option i choose so if someone could help me out that would be great!!
Personally, I love to be challenged. I was in the same position as you two years ago, and I learned so much more by taking the harder class. I'm so glad I did that and it challenged me to work even harder. So I think you should go up two levels as long as your teachers think that you could do it.

@Brig C update haha! i went back to my studio december of last year and i was ready to go on pointe by march(,:and i’m also in intermediate/advanced ballet so yes!
Level is just a graduation on an axis. Actually, you have to know all of these judgement axis to know "where" you are. - Technical axis (can bi split in subscales for each technic !) - flexibility axis - motivation axis (nb of practicing hours, NOT including dance lessons) - artistic axis (ability to express yourself as an artist) - learning axis (ability to learn quickly a choreo) - kinestesic axis (ability to reproduce with your body what you are told) - Physical axis (is your body strong enough to made some movements) So before asking "what is your level", rather ask a teacher what he/she expect, consider important, etc...
Thank you for your quote today👏🏼👏🏼 It is really true that reminds me a lot. Really thankful for that🙏🏼🙏🏼 And just have a question that I want to ask is how can we break through the struggles or disappointment on dancing? Hope to see your reply and thank you 🙏🏼
OMG levels are so weird.😂 Like, I've been dancing for 12 years but some of that was strictly modern so I'm much better at modern and dance theater styles than classical ballet. I was in my old studio's performance ensemble for 6 years but it was completely contemporary modern so it actually made ballet harder. I dance 4 days a week, but I take multiple classes every day. I'm in level 5 currently at Colorado Ballet Academy, but I was at level 7 when I was assessed at a different studio and I was at the top of the most advanced level at my old studio. It's also weird because I'm 15 so a lot of studios don't really know what to do with me, especially because I'm better at some things than others.
I can't say how long I've been dancing and how many classes I take because I always danced but sometimes I had breaks and now I train since 2 years at home by myself ( Btw I'm 11 )
I’ve been dancing since I was 4-8. I’m 13 now but I want to start dancing again. I know the basic ballet vocabulary and technique. I was wondering on whether you would consider me as a beginner or an intermediate. Thank you!
I would say I'm intermediate but I dont know much terminology, and I've danced around three years but with a 5 year gap in the middle and I've never done a competition in my life in dance so I could be a beginner x
I'm so confused It has been 6 or 7 years since I have started, but I didn't dance so often. I started to dance a lot, probably for 5 years. I only started contemporary 2 years ago. But I feel like I can dance really well and have improved a lot. I'm graceful when I dance. I am also flexible, but I am not the best. In hiphop, I am most probably a beginner, if not, an improver.
I’ve been dancing since I was 3 ( I am now 12) and I don’t think that I have progressed much I take 3 classes (the third one is singing and acting as well) I do musical theatre ballet Morden and tap. Any tips on how to improve etc.
My name is Priscilla I’ve been dancing for 1 year in hip hop and jazz dances but started to get serious at 9 in Other styles I take seven 3 hour classes a week what level would I be in
I ha e no idea what level I would be 😂 I'm like a year into dance, as an adult, but I did a bunch of dance as a preteen and now I have like 4 college dance classes going on lol
I have been dancing for the whole of this year and I danced when I was younger the only style I've been taking is ballet once a week. I am doing show tap and want or take studio classes next year. Since I'm new to ballet they put in the highest grade before exams. I am 14 turning 15 soon. They put me down a grade as they merged my class and the intermediate dancers for the show and didn't think I could keep up. I am now dancing with kids about 5 years to 2 years younger than me. If feal aquard with them but I want to listen to my teacher's and listen to them but I feal uncomfortable in a class with them. What do I do?
I was in the exact same position as you awhile back (Oldest person was 3 years younger), the only reason you're uncomfortable is because you're making it uncomfortable. My advice is to just stop caring, you're there to learn just like everyone else. Enjoy the class and put the same work in as a higher level. Trust me, you'll feel much better being with 10 year olds than being in a class you can't keep up in. (If it makes you feel any better, the next year I was put with people my age)
@@grapefruitprimavera6705 thanks for the advice. This does make me feel alot better to know others have been the same situation as me and had good things come out of it.
@auti kamal what about if you haven't danced in a while but you started dancing 6-7 years ago? Would you just recommend taking a class at the level you left off at?
i’ve been in ballet for 6 year, but that was when i was younger, so i’ll say, its been about hmm, 5 years sense i’ve last done ballet- so would you say that i’m a beginner?
Ok guys I need help... I’m 14 This is my 12th year dancing (I started when I was 2) I go to a small town studio with 100 kids max This year I have 4 classes a week, 2 days a week, but I have 7 different dances this year anywhere from jazz to tap to lyrical to musical theatre to tap technique I have never competed but I will be going to my first competition this year. I have performed at Disney world I’ve never been to a dance intensive I don’t take ballet or pointe Will you guys please comment what level you think I am!!
Would you be willing to do one of these for adult dancers? I have trouble finding any studio that offers more than one adult class per week. I'm all over the map experience-wise. Trained on and off for 40 years, went en pointe at age 20. Would love to be en pointe, but am rehabbing from some traumatic injuries and surgery... Had brain surgery that has destroyed my balance, and short-term memory. Have no idea where I fit!
I love ballet I live in India , Kerala. I am 12 years old. I have been watching your channel for a year or so . I don't study in a bellat class so I have a recommendation to make . Can you do a youtube class , like your are teaching us every Sunday. Please Please please
My situation is very different because I have been doing majorettes for 8 years (I’m 12) however I have only been doing contemporary and jazz and others similar dance types for 2 years. I would say I am intermediate level, I think. But I am which level I would be, just for my knowledge, what would you think?
I love your channel I probably gonna start dancing again. My only issues is that some how I can seem to shake teachers that want to dress me up as mini mouse or a fluffy yellow duck. As shallow as that sounds that why I quit. Mind you I transitioned from ballet to tap took time off and came back to tap at 16. Any tips on how to avoid that type of embarrassing fiasco?
I feel like I might be an intermediate?? I have been dancing do 11 yrs but only do one class lol but I am completely fine with being beginner! That’s what my studio has to offer right now so yeah
To Miss Auti also I am from Rohester NY live in the town of Webster I am 17 and there is a local studio in Rochester called Ashford Dance Company the owner of the studio Mrs Caitlyn they have levels for classes at all ages and ability's starting age 1 until 18 they have classes for every age and level that I dance at in person I been dancing for 9-10 years I recently did recital and competition for me is to have fun do not take it serious for dance what level do you think I am in also I do not do competition a lot My name is Jessica by the way I take 1 dance class on Saturday morning starting at 11:30 am until 12:30 pm every Saturday in person I am in it everyone that I know I am in the inclusve class as a small group with friends that I know the level in dance that I am in is easy and fun to follow and learn
This makes me sound so stupid but I’ve been dancing since I was a little girl like I always watched people dance on UA-cam and made up my own routines etc. But I only started dance in January. I don’t know if it’s because I’m still new to dance classes but I find it so hard to remember choreography! Any tips?

I need some help, does anyone know any dance studios in Florida that offer teen beginner classes?? Thanks! Much appreciated. 💕 (You don't know how much it'll mean to me lol)
Nessa P i don’t live in florida so i’m not completely sure, but what i did is i searched up “beginner teen ballet classes near me” on safari! it took a little searching but i found some! hope this helps :)
Hi! I'm in my early twenties and I took a basics/beginner course of ballet in college and LOVED IT. But with the pandemic and all, I haven't been able to take any classes at a studio after graduating and I've been solely using UA-cam videos to progress (yours, Kathryn Morgan, Lazy Dancer Tips, Broche Ballet, Natalie Danza). Without getting any corrections beyond watching myself in the mirror/recording myself, it's difficult for me to figure out what level I'm on. I sort of feel like an advanced beginner level since beginner videos are pretty manageable for me, which makes me want to do intermediate workouts on UA-cam. However, I am worried about accidentally developing bad technique and habits if I'm not ready. If you have any thoughts or tips that would be SUPER helpful!
I want to learn how to do an aerial but I’ve been teaching myself all of my tricks and I’m scared Auti. Can you help at all 😭? Also I’m struggling with my level placement -15 years old -I’ve done Dance for 5 years, Cheer for 2 years, and gymnastics for 4 years. (Those probably don’t count though) -During school I take 5 classes a week (still team) \ work by myself after school \ summer I work by myself for 3/4 days a week. - We are a competition team - Self taught tricks with help from this channel.

Yesss I love your videos!!!
I love your channel soooo much! Can’t ou please do an advance jazz dance
I can't say how long I've been dancing and how many classes I take because I always danced but sometimes I had breaks and now I train since 2 years at home by myself
( Btw I'm 11 )
Kathryn Morgan is at Miami City Ballet too 😍🙏
I’ve been dancing since I was 4-8. I’m 13 now but I want to start dancing again. I know the basic ballet vocabulary and technique. I was wondering on whether you would consider me as a beginner or an intermediate. Thank you!
I’m self learning ballet it’s hard but I ain’t giving up :)
I would say I'm intermediate but I dont know much terminology, and I've danced around three years but with a 5 year gap in the middle and I've never done a competition in my life in dance so I could be a beginner x
I'm so confused
It has been 6 or 7 years since I have started, but I didn't dance so often. I started to dance a lot, probably for 5 years. I only started contemporary 2 years ago. But I feel like I can dance really well and have improved a lot. I'm graceful when I dance. I am also flexible, but I am not the best. In hiphop, I am most probably a beginner, if not, an improver.
I’m a beginner and I take 5 classes a week...does that make sense?
Teni Xoxo yep same with me! hopefully i can advance to intermediate soon!
I’ve been dancing since I was 3 ( I am now 12) and I don’t think that I have progressed much I take 3 classes (the third one is singing and acting as well) I do musical theatre ballet Morden and tap. Any tips on how to improve etc.
My name is Priscilla I’ve been dancing for 1 year in hip hop and jazz dances but started to get serious at 9 in Other styles I take seven 3 hour classes a week what level would I be in
I am the top level i have danced for 7 years
I ha e no idea what level I would be 😂 I'm like a year into dance, as an adult, but I did a bunch of dance as a preteen and now I have like 4 college dance classes going on lol
I live in Israel is ther a way i can still participate from zoom or you will upload the class on your UA-cam channel
By the way I love your videos ❤️
I’m taking like 8 classes a week and I’ve only taken dance for a few months
Ok so I started when I was 3 (I’m 13 now) . I take 5-6 classes a week .
@@TheHuskey_3 No problem and glad to hear it, good luck!
@auti kamal what about if you haven't danced in a while but you started dancing 6-7 years ago? Would you just recommend taking a class at the level you left off at?
Auti please do a QnA video.
i’ve been in ballet for 6 year, but that was when i was younger, so i’ll say, its been about hmm, 5 years sense i’ve last done ballet- so would you say that i’m a beginner?
Ok guys I need help...
I’m 14
This is my 12th year dancing (I started when I was 2)
I go to a small town studio with 100 kids max
This year I have 4 classes a week, 2 days a week, but I have 7 different dances this year anywhere from jazz to tap to lyrical to musical theatre to tap technique
I have never competed but I will be going to my first competition this year.
I have performed at Disney world
I’ve never been to a dance intensive
I don’t take ballet or pointe
Will you guys please comment what level you think I am!!
I am sort of struggling with building a personal routine. How much time should one practice a day?
Can we start jazz at the age of 40 with slip disc issue of l4,l5 and s1?
I feel like I might be an intermediate?? I have been dancing do 11 yrs but only do one class lol but I am completely fine with being beginner! That’s what my studio has to offer right now so yeah
Mam can u give a tutorial video of forward roll

Hey! Auti you are doing well, I love your video's.
I am self taught but I am better than many dancers at my school,is it weird? I competed in contemporary and won second place.I cannot afford classes.
Hi I am going to start ballet Tuesday do you have any tips btw I am not flexible and I'm fat
This makes me sound so stupid but I’ve been dancing since I was a little girl like I always watched people dance on UA-cam and made up my own routines etc. But I only started dance in January. I don’t know if it’s because I’m still new to dance classes but I find it so hard to remember choreography! Any tips?
What if you take one class a week for nine years?
Hi auti I have been dancing since 4-5 months and l can do a pirouette, cartwheel, front walkover, floor work and contempt can u please tell me what level l am please
I practice 5 times a week for 2 hours
😊Thank you @MissAuti
I’m advanced and beginner at the same time :O
Ok I'm confused
I've danced for 3 months now , I'm 15 years old , and I take 5 classes a week easily.
Your like beginner that can level up to intermediate because you take a lot of classes !
Elizabeth Akiningain can you help me
I’ve danced for 2 years 2 months I’m 11 years old and I take 7 classes a week please respond
Justice Unicorn hi , I think your intermediate because of the how long you dance and how many classes you take!
Elizabeth Akiningain thanks
I fall behind from choreography because I’m always so tired that someone could ask me what 1+1 equals and I’d say 5
Me: I’ve been dancing 8 years and it’s in my generation I love ballet I think I found my passion
But with the lesson thing I struggle cause my family who I live with is poorly so I struggle that’s why I teach myself most of the time
I used to take classes and they were so fun and amazing
We love you so much. Lolz.😋
Me taking 16 classes a week...
Is it just me??

Suggest me to get advance flexibility
early- ilysmmmm
Pooh Bear i knew i’d be first one day 😎
Hi
Fifth comment
Me realizing im never going to become a good dancer...
Don’t say that
I want to learn how to do an aerial but I’ve been teaching myself all of my tricks and I’m scared Auti. Can you help at all 😭?
Also I’m struggling with my level placement
-15 years old
-I’ve done Dance for 5 years, Cheer for 2 years, and gymnastics for 4 years. (Those probably don’t count though)
-During school I take 5 classes a week (still team) \ work by myself after school \ summer I work by myself for 3/4 days a week.
- We are a competition team
- Self taught tricks with help from this channel.
I have the same problem
Luciana Vega 😭 we can learn together 💕
@@TRENDINGALERTTT haha yeah we can do I believe in you 😥💖💖
OMG it sounds like you are very professional
An Dnc I’m aiming for a more “professional” level but I’m not sure if I have the proper dance “studio” training for it.
