I have listened to these stories of Roy and Jack three times now. Wow.Who knew I would end up in a conversation with my grandson about Mad Jack. He couldn't believe his seventy year old grandmother even knew who Mad Jack was. 😉 I came up a notch in his view.
Really, I am glad you share these stories of our war heroes that we might never learn about otherwise. Respect for your service and theirs👍❤

This guy's taking Roy off the grid!!!!!!! ROY, what a bad-a**!!!!! I miss my grandparents and my great uncle, and I also miss their war stories (most of them sad, but boy did they sound like they were super human.) I swear, when I'm overwhelmed, I just tell myself, "Pawpaw fought in WW2 and Arthur fought in Korea and Vietnam." And it shuts me up and calms me down. What a bunch of amazing people.

Wow! That Roy Benavetaz(?) Story literally brought tears to my eyes and shivers so much that I had to pull over, pause the video & take a screenshot of this unbelievable superhero!!
My father spent four years in Vietnam with the Marine Corps, both tours were back to back and voluntary! So he did his two years and when it was time for him to go home he said "F**K NO! This is what we sign up for!" And he stayed for another two years and only came back because the war was "over" and everyone was coming back!
I could see my father doing something like this! He is in his 70's now and in 2003 when Operation shock and awe began and the first boots were starting to land in the sand (my husband's included) he hung a huge sticker on his door that said "Send me over! I'm ready to fight for our freedom!" And it's still hanging there today!
I apologize I'm not trying to make this about myself my father or my husband!
I just wanted to add that in there.
I really just want to give my utmost respect and gratitude to this beyond brave man! He deserved the congregational metal of honor and any and all other awards the service has to offer! I want to thank him his family and all of the brave men and women who answer the call and literally lay their lives on the line for our freedom! Without them we wouldn't be here! And also to their families. It's very hard watching your soldier leave for another tour over and over again.
I'm not sure if this man is still alive today because like I said..I paused the video and pulled the car over to write this and take a screenshot of this wonderful beyond brave man!
I salute this man and Thank him for his MANY MANY sacrifices!! He is a real life super hero 💪

I literally got shivers along my spine and cried when I heard the story of Roy. This is extremely rare. I can get shivers from an emotional song but from a story of bravery? Roy, words don't cut the level of hononur and bravery involved here. In Roy's speech, he deflected the word 'hero' off himself, but you're a hero Roy.

The last story, I worked at a Japanese company that was an automotive stamping and welding facility. We used welding robots daily, hourly, every minute of every day! We had so many safety contingencies when reprogramming a "crashed" robot or something as simple as changing a welding tip. It's called a "lock out tag out" system, it's designed so this sort of thing never happened. It's a dag on shame something like this had to take place before more EXTREME safety measures were put in place! That said, that same company experienced, while I was there, one death, and at least 3 amputations. Two of which were arms, one finger. The Japanese are great engineers! Some of the best folks I've ever been around, however it takes crazy accidents like this before they make changes. I suppose that's just human. Trials and errors.

Yea.....I've listened to Roy's story about 100 times! That dude was a serious badass! Imagine if the whole team was that driven....wow man! Definitely the most awesome war story ever if you ask me. I'm sure he will be mentioned in Valhalla when I get there, and if not, I'm going to tell his story to the rest of the warriors.
