- We test some very rare shotgun rounds that are about 20 years old. These were never sold to civilians, but to police and military. Ben was very generous by sending these to us so we could share it with our viewers. There are no other videos that show what these unique rounds do. Enjoy this rare opportunity to see these in action. You'll probably never see them shot again.

Most of the drives are from around 2004

Ive worked with aircraft structure panels, and that distinctive yellow/green colored coating looks like chromium 6 which is highly toxic and carcinogenic, since you've been handling it, I would highly recommend getting checked up by a doctor
plot twist: everything actually is carcinogenic and california just lets us know about it haha
My mind went to Old Gregg...
I remember about reading about these in Weapons for Police and Military magazine(now defunct), back in the late 90's.
It was to be the answer for PD's that would not (due to politics), or could not afford to issue rifles to their patrol cars. the was to be Armored Piercing "Buckshot", when it spread out it was "mathematically" possible that one piece of the tungsten carbide hardened steel (same material drill bits are made of ), would defeat soft body armor of a felon wearing same.
This round was one answer to the infamous 1997 North Hollywood shootout.

I love this concept of buckshot that shoots like a slug. Cutting a cylinder and putting it back together. I really want to see more experiments with the idea. Especially the 8 long segments

So in theory, why couldn’t a person take multiple 1” sections of a round chainsaw file or a triangle file, encase them in a silicone slug to reload and get the same effect?
The problem with that is the individual pieces that don't fit together tightly. Unless you use a VERY stout shot cup, the individual pieces will separate and get crossways in the barrel, scoring or possibly destroying the barrel.
I have always wondered what we have now in production that would work as "anti-material"

You could probably reload those recovered "quadrangles" and possibly load them without the silicone (similar to the QB-8 although you would not have the plastic pieces)

my grandfather used to load square steel shot. don't know where he got it from but I've never seen anything more destructive than that out of a shotgun. period.
"Quadrangle" is how we called the main play yard at my 1970s English grammar (high) school. We mainly shortened it to "quad" (a synonym for prison over here)

I am surprised that two highly educated gentlemen such as yourselves didn't guess that the word "QUAD-r-ANGLE might just have some relation to the number four! Personally, I had imagined four elongated slices of the payload rather than eight, but the shape of each piece looked pretty much as I had imagined. Excellent video!
