ROLLER BEARING Sabot Shotgun Slugs - British Brilliance!

- Today we test out some projectiles sent from England, a first! Leigh did a great job keeping this design in spec using very unorthodox materials. We discuss how much attention is paid towards precision and the many other factors that make a huge difference between making a precision projectile and just stuffing stupid things in a shell. Like we mentioned, we are very backlogged on getting to all the viewer-submitted stuff and it might take MONTHS before we test them.

I’m glad you like them 👍
It’s pronounced Lee like Tree😂
I’m glad no one was hurt by ricochet😬
I’m working on a new design hopefully be completed soon🫡…
I was starting to think you were mad at us too for taking so long to test these! You did an awesome job, thank you so much for sending them!
@@taofledermaus Brilliantly executed!
@@taofledermaus No it’s all good, I’m quite patient with most things 😂
Great job Leigh. Quite the creation. Awesome to see them put through their paces. Looking forward to round two!
Totally awesome. Thanks for sending those. Very interesting in the slow mo.
Proof that OG is a terrible marksman, he accidentally shot his phone on purpose! Thank you guys for all your hard work and the awesome videos you produce. And thanks to everyone who sends in test rounds!
Good shooting Text! I wonder where his real aim point was?
He needs a three colored laser pointer. Set one for the scope at 13 yards, 25, and 50? Different colors for three points of aim. Just turn it on for the camera, because we already know he's spot on.
@@TheMechanator he said
mid way up the body. And "it pulled left a bit". It hit the left side of midway up the phone. So... he aimed at the apple.
@@eon2330 good catch.
That clay shot in slow motion was awesome! Also the gummy ballistic bear accuracy. Very good video!
thanks Juan
The clay and the bag of water were just beautiful (I especially liked the "shot cup" bouncing off the table and splashing through the curtain of water). I'm subbed to a channel dedicated to special effects mostly done in simulation software. I'm going to challenge them to try to match those explosions.
I prefer the slo-mo right after the shot taken, but the compilation at the end is cool too. The clay block was by far my favorite!
Never gets old.
Jeff you're the Emeril Lagasse of shotguns. You put all these ingredients together and Bam!
lol thank you Nick! Notice the sweet roll crimp I put on those?
@@taofledermaus yes sir!
Because after all you are the Emeril Lagasse of shotgun blasting.
@@taofledermaus - I see what you did there
@@dizzy_derps Is that... a Food Wishes reference?!
Jeff, Gregg, I appreciate you and I appreciate the community that you have built. I sprained my ankle so I'm laid up and watching all that I missed!
Thanks!
Dang! I hope you heal up fast! thanks
@@taofledermaus Thanks Jeff.
Really have to commend you guys on the amount of time you put into these videos. There is a lot of science and calculations that goes into the work you do. Non reloading folks may not realize that. Thank you.
Thank you!!
I love hearing Jeff laugh in these videos. You can tell that he and OG really enjoy working together on them.
Edit: Sorry OG, I had a senior moment and complimented Jeff twice.
Jeff and Jeff?
My name jeff
insane performance. I have a sneaking suspicion that OG didnt miss the squirrel... the peformance on these rounds and shots by OG, BOTH very impressive. WOW!!
It wasn’t a miss. 😂
@@OGsDangerShow great shot OG 🙏 always appreciate the humor as well!
Amazing British home crafting at its best ^^ well done Lee.
It was all great, however the slow mo at the end wrapped it up perfectly! Thank you! You guys are the most fun horizontal rocket launchers in the solar system!
Thank you!!
Thank you, Leigh.
These worked really well.
As long as we have primers, the 12ga will always be effective.
Great video guys 👍😎
OG wasn’t responding to my texts…
I was starting to think he was ignoring me.☹️
👍 Greg and Jeff. You proved that the SCIENCE of SLOW MOTION is a beautiful ARTFORM. God bless you and the entire Taofledermaus family 🇺🇸
thank you very much AC
Wonderfully executed as always.
Thanks fellas!
thanks Mark
Alright. Another episode of you make it we Mach it. Thanks guys. You make these rough days a lot smoother.🤙🏾
thank yoU!!
Great projectile and great shooting. The clay block is extremely impressive, thank you for including it today.
thanks!!
As a British gun nut, I'm definitely impressed with the engineering of these rounds.
Please tell me that OG didn't actually shoot his real phone, otherwise that was VERY unlucky.
Also we British folk pronounce leigh as lee.
That's seriously some of the best rotation of a slug that I've ever seen demonstrated on this channel. Nice job, Leigh!
Very very cool slug. Really elegant!
Super cool shooting and slow motion shots! Wow... My most favorite Sat. Video!
Nice shells, targets and commentary. When I seen the shot behind Lincoln's head, that's what I was thinking too. Holy cow! That shell with the doll on top looks like it reentered the block and skipped out from under
Always love to see your video on my feed, gentlemen .Thank you guys! Much love brothers.
I never get tired of these vids. Never change, Jeff and Gregg!
thanks DG
OG: “I don’t think it made it thru” as it literally bounces off his foot. Love it! Oh, and glad it was so gentle that he didn’t know it.
Keep up the good work, gents.
Interesting slug from Liver-puddle, guys. Thoroughly enjoyed the slo-mo montage at the tail end of the video, and the rarely seen these days OG finger wiggle somewhere in the middle of the presentation. All good, all the time!
thank you Noah
Good stuff, boys. That clay block explosion was pretty cool!
The slow mo is worth the wait! Another outstanding presentation!
thanks!!
The slow-mo of the vest impact was absolutely brutal....
This video could be in the top ten. The clay impact was impressive. The overall accuracy is so cool.
thanks Russell
I loved the slow-mo at the end format. Keep doing this.
Offica Gregg's finest moment, glad to be a part of this.
I appreciate your work here.
Thanks to both of you! 👍
Our pleasure!
The face on the clay block was priceless. Like it knew what was coming.
"Horizontal Rocket" was my nickname in high school....can't believe OG let that one go by. :-)
Chronos being the usual superstar it is, showing us all sorts of details - including that damn Beiberdoll,
indestructible as it's proven to be.
Over a decade later, TFM is still the best show of its' type on YT - and improving, seems like.
Long may Jeff and Gregg remain motivated to continue producing it!
- Ed on the Ridge
Awesome projectiles! Great video! And, nice to see the patented OG finger wiggle again.
Whoah - didn´t expect those results. That they were so precise for a homemade round in particular.
Great video as always (I know, I know, I write this every week....)
lol thanks
I love the way you captured the projectile returning. This stresses safety.
This should be called the indestructible slug. If you can find it after being shot then you could use it again. Nice going Leigh!
Officer Greg was in fine form. Not just marksmanship, but commentary. "not the first impact at the back of Lincoln's head.... Too soon?"
Just the the kind of rude adolescent humor we come to Taofldeermaus to wallow in. Keep it up.
Nice custom Sabo Jeff! Great shooting O.G. Great video as usual guys 👍🏻🇺🇲 Inflation shrunk the penny's!!!! 😅🤣
thanks
"Horizontal rocketry" I see what you did there OG, since you chuckled a bit. 🤭
BTW the clay block slowmo, I was like WTF the slug just stopped right there and of course the ballistic gel block was so ridiculous when the slug spun and ricoched back like it was rewinding itself.
Your knowledge of reloading is extensive and outstanding!
Fantastic as always. Thanks guys.
thank you Chris!! Nice seeing you again.
@@taofledermaus Never miss an episode.
That was cool watching that round waggle backwards after the block pass through 😁
Great video. I hope Leigh makes a heavy version that you can load into a 3" or even 3.5" hull with a big powder charge. Such a slug might even go through that lead plate.
Dream big or go home🤭🤣
I’ll see what I can rustle up👍
Just wow. The energy transfer of those rounds was incredible 👍👍
Jeff and OG, you two are amazing! The video, shooting and targets are outstanding. I really enjoy your videos. "Feeling Cocky?" Just giving the ATTA BOY'S out to the both of you! Thank You! Always interesting and informative! And those projectiles from Leigh, mind numbing. Who the heck would think of using those? I'm glad he did though.
thanks for the kind words GT
Thanks @G T Naylor, these guys Allways get me and my buddies rolling 🤣
Those projectiles were amazingly stable! great video Guys
Best slow mo yet! Thank you for posting
thanks William!
Lincoln didn’t put a thumb in it 👍😂
Bravo for the Lincoln’s head joke! 🤣🤣🤣
All the slow mo at the end was great. Nice job ladies.
thanks maam
Wow! I like the slowmo at the end. And that clay was some of the kewlest I have seen! That blew up really well!
Thanks. Got a number of people who only watched about half the video and thought we didn't show any HS footage!
I had been wondering if we were going to get to see any slow-mo at all, but putting it all together at the end was highly entertaining.
I'm a fan of that format and hope you try at least one more time.
thanks
That is one nasty round. The way it dumped all it's energy into that clay block and pretty much vaporized it and did not over pen it was just wow. Would not want to be hit by that.
7:06 I havent laughed that hard since Liberia '96!
Truly tasteless, and THAT's why we love you, OG!
BTW, Nice Black Watch Pendelton Board Shirt.
Black Watch represent! 🤟😎
These were some of the coolest rounds, in the slow-mo.The water, giant penny and the clay were spectacular. The last round, looked like it was running along the cardboard, after it was deflected.
It seems the more funny the joke...like the Lincoln joke...the faster I am compelled to hit the like button.
lol thanks
Those slugs were sweet...he could easily sale them..he did great making em..great video guys..loved it..thanks
Dammit OG!
You get me so many stupid looks when I bust out laughing out loud. That Lincoln bit was PRICELESS!
I'm a huge fan of horizontal rocketry.
Englishman here. It’s pronounced Lee. Leeeeeeeeeeee
Awesome, that clay block was interesting, stopping the spin of the slug was nice to see.
I love the amazing 12ga voodoo magic you guys show on the channel!
thanks Andrew
I find myself watching your videos for hours. Neat stuff!
thanks Mike!
LOL, only you with the Lincoln joke, I cringed then laughed. Great one.!
That intro for the shell was awesome, I'd love to see something like this for every projectile, though I understand that with such random assortment it's not always possible. In any case, thank you for the fun and education, folks!
"shutter" garage door for store fronts First the shotgun then the torch? Gonna have to name him Guantanimo Smokey!
I call fake on the phone shot. OG nailed the big penny in the same spot as the phone. That is showmanship! Keep these great videos coming. Thanks
fantastic job Mr. Leigh...hats off to you sir👍
I Thank You..😊
that little circle of needly bearings looks like it would spread out and create a pretty good wound track
As a shotgunner from way back I love your vids. I have shot everything from qual to bull buffalo, all with a pump shotgun so I appreciate all your postings. Many cheers
thank you very much!
good new format and a very satisfying spin on these!
Glad you enjoyed!
LOL the gel block shot it bounced straight back and backwards!
And the water bag shot slug tore it to shreds then the plastic wad hit the water in mid air and you could see it splash from the impact of the wad freaking awesome to see!
Saving all the slowmo for the end was a nice touch and should be done in future videos
I appreciate the feedback. Some people hated it, some people who didn't bother watching the whole video thought we didn't include any HS footage
The slo-mo montage at the end… epic!!! ❤❤❤❤
🤟😎
thanks Matt
Love to see what these rounds would do on a meat target. And WOW! You got that great accuracy without the use of a tarp! Way to go!
I swear no one machs stuff like you guys!
Some of your best slow mo work yet.
thank you!!
That is amazing. Not the results I guessed. Love to the crew
thanks Kim
Great video. I love the slow motion videos, where you really see just how they flew. 😎👍
thanks!
I love it when og gives Jeff shit
Nice slugs, and nice shootin' by OG as always 👍
7:04 xD gregg always makes me chuckle but this one made me roll on the floor 😀
AMAZING round. Perfectly stable with very high spin rate. I have to assume the outer diameter of the bearing is spinning much faster than the inner diameter as it exists the Barrell. Lea better slap a patent on this round before I do because it's AWESOME and with an improvement on allowing the round to spread once it hits a target no one will think there is a better shotgun defense round. Y'all have hit the jackpot.
You fellas should try them at twenty yards and beyond. Test the range limits.
We lost track of how many we had and didn't have one left for a long range shot.
@@taofledermaus I can make some more if you would be interested?🤭
Any tweets or recommendations?
Constructive criticism is always good👍
Love the OG history lessons
It's awesome you could bring the clay for this one, that shot is one of my favorites of all time!
I always forget to bring out the clay for some reason.
you guys never cease to entertain! Out of the 4-5 shooting channels, i never miss a toafledermaus!
thanks Mark
@@taofledermaus thank you guys!
I like the format, holding the slow-mo for a montage at the end. Pretty cool, i will always watch your whole video anyway :) the banter is too funny. I kept waiting for the OG to make a wad bung hole joke... then he wings the Lincoln joke out there. "too soon?" i almost fell off my chair I was laughing so hard
Thanks for the feedback. It doesn't appeal to people with a short attention span, but I'd prefer to not appeal to those viewers.
I started to think the Kronos was on the fritx, outstanding and interesting projectiles, excellent accuracy (I suspect OG was aiming for the cell phone), professional yet humorous banter and absolutely stunning slow-motion footage Jefe'. Assuming that a montage format is efficient and easier to edit........maybe?
As odd as it may seem, I really enjoyed the slow-mo of the near miss of the bag of water. Thought it was neat watching the ripple move through it.
The shock waves were neat to see
Excellent video and you guys are hilarious! Seriously you two together is always non stop funny and great information on shotgun ballistics. Slo-mo was off the chain!! The one through the gel block going backwards was super cool!
thanks Wilson
Great rounds Leigh. Good video Jeff and Gregg's Lincoln joke was funny.
I really like this format. The slow-mo end is is a great touch... I found myself doing a bad impression of you, "& you can see the rifling fully engaged in this one" lol
Great shooting O.G. I wasn't at all surprised you hit the penny... or the phone lol
Just trying something new to see how many people complain about it. lol
Hey guys, great episode, as always 😉👍🏻.
Dunno if another brit has said how Leigh is pronounced, but here in the UK it's Lee, not lay or lie.
Excuse me for saying so, but does Officer Greg realise a lot of his humour is quite sarcastic. A particularly British trait, and very funny to listen to.
I imagine it's a possible mannerism used in his role as a police officer - nothing surprises him anymore.
Anyway, keep the weird and wonderful rounds, or bullets, or projectiles coming. It's always good to see you blokes enjoy shooting shotguns just for the hell of it. Cheers👍🏻
thank you!
Awesome video Jeff, OG shooting his phone was classic😂😂😂... Hope he has insurance on it.
thanks James!
The slo-mo was spectacular!
thanks!
Great video guys! keep up the humor OG, seems we all could use some dad jokes and 90's hip hop references from time to time, thanks!
thanks Wesley
really appreciate the break down of your methods and technical info.
thanks
Love this channel keep up the good work and the great vibes!
Glad you enjoy it!
Evil OG, for the WIN! "Apart from that, Mrs. Lincoln, what did you think about the play?"
