There's so much more to come but we start off strong with crawfish, oysters, etoufee, hurricanes, red beans and rice, gator... and then some. What New Orleans foods could you not live without?
Glad y’all loved New Orleans. Red beans & rice is definitely a staple. Cook it on Monday because it takes all day and that laundry day. You don’t have to babysit the pot, cher!
I live here in the French Quarter, I'm born and raised here, I love watching other people taste our food.......you know the local saying here is...." In New Oyuns we're diggin our graves wit a knife and a fawk"!!!!😂😂😂😂gotta love da 504
I was introduced to Creole/Cajun cooking when I moved to Southeast Texas, we're about 2 hours away from the Louisiana border. Man, hands down some of the best food I've ever had.
Obviously this was pre Covid...It’s a shame that so many things that were so iconic to do in crowded spaces is probably gone forever. We went to NOLA on our honeymoon. We have been married 40 years now. Yes, and it’s always been wonderful. Great episode!!! Make them more often please.
You ate at Landry's??? It's a chain restaurant! They're all over the South. The Gumbo Shop is always in the top 10 for years. Drago's for charbroiled oysters. Fun video.
Oysters from NOLA all the way over to the Florida panhandle are the best in this country, and I've eaten them everywhere. I would rather eat for a few days in NOLA than anywhere else on the planet. My kinda food!
Went to Bourbon with my boys. Two rules. One, don't piss in the street, 2 check for an Adam's apple. First night my buddy gets arrested for urinating. Didn't bail him out.
Oh goodness you've got to try the hurricanes from Pat O Brian's they have the absolute best... All their drinks are soooooo delicious there. Best Hand grenade is from the Tropical Isle. Louisiana born and raised here. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I spent most of my 20’s on Bourbon street, if you want a good hurricane you HAVE to go to pat obriens (pat o’s) they have one big enough to share with everyone, lol and of course cafe du monde for a yummy beignets
I've been once, and just can't stand to go all in for raw oysters...I can't do it. But fried were good. For me the coolest thing in the area was the Drive thru daiquiri stores....and if you go in, the wall of like 30 machines with their own blends. SOOOO good. ( I come from IN where we just got the right to buy booze on sunday, so the idea of a drive thru store is unreal!)
I'm originally from the New Orleans area. The drive through daiquiri shops were the norm but Florida blew my mind with full service drive through liquor stores. You can pull through and but a bottle of liquor while they load a beer keg and ice into the back of your truck while you are at the window
Please someone tell me what's JP drinking on the thumbnail picture? Is that a beer or just a bottle shaped pint? If it's a beer brand please let me know, I clicked on the video because I wanted to see that bottle but they didn't actually show it 😂
it's a famous " Huge ass beer" it's just what it sounds like they are like 32oz I believe. It's just normal cheap draft but the containers or the overly huge plastic cups are the main draw and they are about $7 for the cup and $12 for the giant container
Prolly won't respond to my questions because I've asked before but Would you two try Native American food? Also would you two try New Mexico's chile both red and green?
I know this has to be pre corona because it's so hot here and i know u wouldn't be wearing a coat now! And nobosy wearing a mask what year is this and why did i not know u were here😮😪
