- Who, out of all characters across all universes, is the SMARTEST of all? The usual suspects immediately come to mind like Reed Richards, Tony Stark, & Bruce Banner…you know. I realize this might be controversial but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that people overrate these guys in regards to the difference between SMART & INTELLIGENT.

I agree with your list 100% here, Matt. I think Reed Richards definitely has a greater emotional intelligence than Stark, T'Challa, Doom, etc. - I mean, his best friend got turned into a monster and he's had to understand the problems that causes. I think he actually kind of understands how a lot of people feel. He was able to come up with a mathematical model for predicting societal trends. The thing is, he's SO smart that he can see how a conversation is likely to turn out the minute it begins. At that point, he's already figured out how it's going to end, and just skips the whole thing. Which is why he's only #3. The brilliant thing about his relationship with Sue is that she understands this and he's willing to slow down for her and their kids. Took some doing to get there, though.
And yeah, movies and such totally skip over Bruce Wayne being a freaking scientific GENIUS. He's developed powered armor that could give Iron Man a run for his money. He just doesn't use it unless he really needs it.
I know you excluded Dr. Manhatten, which I disagree. But you nailed Ozymandias. He created World Peace.
Uncle Jesse outsmarted Boss Hogg, ran a moon shine industry, broke his nephews out of jail numerous times, etc.

These people are tactical fighters who have learned strategies on the battlefield .
They may not be scientifically Booksmart or laboratory geniuses, but they are the ones to have in a battle!

Actually Tony didn’t create Ultron, in the MCU he did it was actually Hank Pym who was the creator of Ultron, hey I thought you weren’t including non-human intelligence so how did brainiac make the list isn’t he non human cybernetic alien intelligence, the reason Doom ignored Reeds warnings that his equations were off was because Ben Grimm altered them (he was tired of Doom belittling him), and yes he was arrogant not to have double check his work ( what’s the say measure twice cut once) and this was believed to be the reason why Ben couldn’t transform back and forth from his human form and Rock state because of the guilt he felt,Kirby wanted there to be nothing wrong with Doom’s face other than a minor scratch it wasn’t until he put that burning hot mask on that he ruined his face , you left off Peter Parker, Hank Pym, Charles Xavier, Dr. Steven Strange Adam Bashear The Blue Marvel, and a lot of bad guys, Lex Luther, the Leader, Scientist Supreme, Mad thinker, Wizard, Baron Zemo sr. Norman Osborn,Mandarin, M.O.D.O.K. I think the last two count Sunset Bain i tend to think of her more of a thief but she is intelligent, sorry man you opened the door I just stepped through. I don’t think you give T’Challa enough credit he is often thinking on a kingly scale and he was apart of the Illuminati and told them this was a bad idea and that should go home and be with there significant others he warned them what they where doing was going to be disastrous , oh there’s the new chick that’s running around with Devil Dinosaur , and Iron heart

Vandal savage definitely needed to be on this list. Maybe in place of brainiac? Also Bruce’s trauma keeps him from that spot, imo

Your list has everyone who I thought would be on the list . I thought characters that people didn't see as smart would be on the list, like Peter Parker. He's no dummy. What about Matt Murdoch? A super powered lawyer with tons of street smarts. He's not a super genius, but your list was for "smart" characters. There are alot of mid-level and lower level characters who are very smart.

I think spiderman is really slept on.
In terms of book smarts, bro created his own web fluid, web shooters and designed and made his suit at age 15. As a teenager he matched in intelligence with some people on this list and as he got older he got even more smart.
In terms of street smarts, he is the friendly NEIGHBOURHOOD spiderman and understands people and is able to help them wich is why he changed sides in civil war. Idk i would probably have put him in 3rd spot
