So to be clear a caucasian women winning miss Japan is wrong because she isn't born Japanese yet lived the biggest part of her life in Japan but a man winning a womens beautycontest is stunning and brave.... right...
Japanese is a race/ethnicity, but it is also a nationality. You are confusing the two. These contests don't require contestants to be racially descended from the region, only a citizen of that country. Miss Sweden doesn't have to be caucasian, Miss Spain doesn't have to be of latin descent.
Lots of ethnicities have won titles in countries where they are considered an ethnic minority... but Japan only stands out to us in the west because there is vastly less ethnic minorities there than compared to what we typically see here.
It's no different though than a woman of Japanese descent winning Miss USA, or a woman of Indian descent winning Miss Canada.
@@KeithDCanadaThe main complain is that she is White, they wouldn't be complaining if she was of another races (for example black or Indian).
Some people say that her dad was Japanese
@@motivationspeechyther stepdad is Japanese still she doesn't have Japanese blood
@@PL-up5igprobably won't complain or any problem if she is half Japanese
The Colombian and Egyptian girls are the only sane one , others not so much.
Beauty is subjective that's what no one talks about! It's not about the race , or the place you come from it's about the perspective and attraction (attractiveness).
The data says that white men are the most sought after so eh idk about that the sentiment is nice tho
Japan has a hx of looking at Caucasian thinking they’re beautiful rather than accepting that as an Asian, they’re beautiful themselves.
You have a terrible opinion.
*I'm not white but I'll tell you this in all honesty statistics from dating apps on social show that whites are the most desired in terms of beauty.*
Beauty is only subjective up to a certain point, this kind of feel-good, non confrontational opinion is extremely pedant
I love when he said "it's homophobin time" and quickly became homophobic, this truly is one of the stories of all time.
She’s not miss Japan omg research people. This was a beauty contest out on by the wada lab corp NOT miss japan who goes on to compete as miss universe and they did it to get this exact reaction controversy to promote their pageant. People are so gullible to Corp media narratives. And btw being obsessed with race is sick. Let people live there are all ethnicities everywhere now isn’t it time to grow up humanity
But the title is miss Japan.. If that is not forinternational pageant, people will not complain... Well you are wrong because the organization didn't say anything about that... Omg do some research...
@@ck-bs2ms they are correct; this is not the Miss Universe Japan, but a private company's PR stunt.
Completely wrong context. Karolina Shiino has one of her parent as Japanese, she spent most of her time in Japan, and all her eduction is conducted in Japan. Her only citizenship is Japanese. She is a foreigner in every Western nation. How can one deny her as a Japanese without a racist or skin color argument?
Kazuo Ishiguro is the same case. He is a British novelist who won a Nobel Prize of literature. He only wrote English novels. He never wrote Japanese novel. Would you deny his prize or deny to recognize he is a British novelist only because of his skin color?
Wrong context...
Stepfather... FYI.. So that means she doesn't have any Japanese blood...
But where is her roots? Remember she doesn't have any Japanese blood... The whole time she is still Ukrainian citizenship.. She only change last year... Because her mother married a Japanese...
Wow comparing a beauty pageant to an English novelist....
Her step-father is Japanese, yes. Her biological father is Ukrainian though. But I agree with the rest of the point.
she’s Ukrainian so for her to represent Japan instead of people with actual features of Japanese descent is crazy bro, and that’s not racist or because of her skin color. it’s the truth. she needs to represent her own ethnic country’s beauty not Japan.
How many black women have represented for European countries and even won? Tons of them, but nobody gave af about that
She doesn'T believe in white beauty standards? Tell me you are from the U.S, without telling me you are from the U.S. Maybe she should start to believe in any beauty standard, because she ain't pretty and doesn't seem to put much effort in how she looks.
I don't think people get the fact that she won Miss Japan.. In Japan. Like the Japanese people cleaaarly didn't have a problem with her if THEY voted? It is weird cause I do agree that if you're looking for the most beautiful or handsome person of a nation, it should be someone who represents that nation like a native. I wouldn't go out and try to win Mr. Jamaica or Mr. Vietnam cause I am clearly not that. But at the end of the day she already won the award so if you complain and have an actual real problem with this like some of the people they interviewed, you're just whining for no reason.
As an Interviewer to be so insufferable a prixk and incendiary on social issues is a talent.
What?????
@@moonlitequimby847the interviewer is a prick, insufferable, and incendiary.
So you are telling us why there should be no Asian born representatives in such an event in the US.
The USA is not a ethnostate though lmao there are no natives here not comparable. More comparable would be Europe in which case yes, I think Asian born representatives should not be allowed in a country like Romania for example. A Romanian native to their country should be the representative 😊
@@uncletheoneshotkid3001 Oh please. Everybody is African if we go back enough. lets stop this ethno pseudo science bs already🙄
@@doomslayer1984 we are not back though lol. And between those Africans there clearly were divisions as well, hence why some left the continent and some stayed. Ethnicity is beyond that though, but still intimately tied to race and your blood. I wouldn’t want someone not representative of me representing me, I don’t see why it’s wrong for Asian or European nations to feel the same way.
@@uncletheoneshotkid3001 None of what you stated changes the fact that everyone is of African origin. And the whole concept of ethnicity much like race is nothing but a social construct🙄
@@doomslayer1984 social constructs are the only difference between us and animals lmfao y’all say this excuse like we aren’t the only creatures on earth who even have them, it’s for a reason. And African origin means nothing, people’s individual independence and identities need to be respected
3:49 My accent is far from American, sure learning American accent is hard (is it really?), especially if you're from a country where its language is far from English (or even Spanish, since some Americans do speak Spanish).
I would say anyone born and raised in any country should he able to qualify, however, Japanese laws are nkt the same as American laws.
She wasn't Miss Universe Japan (which is the real beauty pageant winner) but a private company PR stunt who run their own 'miss Japan' competition. Nevertheless, if she was raised in Japan, educated there, speaks the language, that's no different to being Japanese than immigrants in other counties such as the US or Britain.
Such a beauty queen, she deserve it❤❤❤❤
The question I wished you HAD asked to each of your interviewees was this:
"What should Miss America LOOK like?"
Each of them would have said: "Like ME!" 😇 Missed an opportunity there, brother.
I think white girls are the most beautiful 😃
Just a random fact, speaking of beauty standards: In Russia being pale is not nessesarily considered beautiful, people associate tan skin with someone who can afford going on vacation regularly and it's seen as a healthier look.
is some European countries have none-white beauty queens?
Any race can represent the US, but a person from Japan has to look certain way? Hmm...
I am Japanese American and if I went to Japan, I would not be considered Japanese. I think the person should be from the country. She should have been Japanese born in Japan.
She came to Japan when she was very young. Japanese is her native language and Japanese culture is her culture.
@@烏梨師斂 , from what I have been told, if you’re not born in the country, you’re not considered, ‘Japanese.’ Also, as others have pointed out, why is ‘Caucasian’ looking considered the beauty standard? It’s always been like that even in Japan. Something is wrong with that thinking if as a Japanese person, they LQQK up to Caucasians as the ‘beauty’ standard rather than what is in their face.
@@kaleimaile She is a naturalized Japanese citizen. The previous winners were black and Indian mixed Japanese but nobody cares?
@@烏梨師斂so? She is not Japanese. She is Ukrainian, a common Slav that doesn’t belong in Japan. I wouldn’t be surprised that the only reason they picked her was because she was Ukrainian and they wanted to show solidarity for Ukraine during the war. Because when you look at her compared the other contestants, the two runner-ups are much more attractive and she’s just…alright. Miss Japan should be Japanese or at least have half Japanese ancestry.
@@kaleimaile There have been two previous Ms. Japans who were mixed race but not half-Caucasian. The winner just happened to be White, get over it.
2:08 this 2 explain it pretty well
Beauty is subjective but if she still had Japanese citizenship it would make sense.
As it’s not accurate representation regardless of her being white.
Regardless if she is white or not, she was not at least born and raised in Japan 🇯🇵 which is still inaccurate.
She was a Japanese citizen.
She is a Japanese citizen she moved there and some say her dad was Japanese
@@motivationspeechytstepdad
I wonder if the Japanese people who agreed to this decision would also agree to filling the positions of the Japanese president and Japanese lawmakers with people from other countries.
I respect Japan's diversification, but Japan must not lose its color.
True
I'd love to see you make this comment for a country in Europe.
Basically, I do not agree with Europe's immigration policy. The same goes for LGBT policies.
Indiscriminately accepting refugees only ruins the lives of its citizens. France's legalization of homosexuality is terrible, and Germany's education only destroys the patriotism of its citizens.
Moreover, Japan is not a country that is attached to each other like Europe, but an island country surrounding the sea and a country that has lived as a single people for hundreds of years. Therefore, the Japanese constitution, culture, and character of the Japanese people are not open to race. It is an error to equate Japan and Europe with respect to such geographical characteristics.
@@Dennis-nc3vwWhy did the Italian president, who was active in accepting refugees, turn into a Mu@sso@lini follower?
This is the future of Europe.
If Tr@ump comes to power, a hole will appear in the nuclear umbrella policy that protects the security of neighboring countries, the European Union will no longer be able to rely on the United States for security, and eventually politicians like the Italian president will emerge.
Humans are inherently selfish animals.
If you are active in accepting refugees, those refugees will force their ideology, religion, and politics onto their citizens.
If we only pursue racial diversity, the country is bound to fail.
@@강우주-w3y Oh jeez, "because it's an island"? The mental gymnastics you people do to justify your double standards are incredible. Hey, guess what, Britain is an island too.
