One advice my uncle gave me when i entered Canada is, you can lose everything you bring or bought, but never lose your job. No matter how much you save, it will only last you for 3months... I'm a guy that always listen to the world of elders, no matter how silly it might sound. I always thank him for this advice... No matter how much you save in abroad, if u lose your job and you are unable to get it within 3months, you go hear am
I think God wanted you to go through it. I had a similar experience. Mine was about 8months, married with 2 kids and a new born at that time. Wife was not working at that time. Our company closed and they actually paid us off for 3months. Then my sister just got admission in the UK. I was quite worried but awaiting a job offer which later didn't come. I just decided to keep quiet. When people will ask including family members, i will say i don't have. But i used to give when i had my job. The one that made me just rethink my life was when my mother said I am jealous thats why i didn't support my sister. Meanwhile, i still managed to support her with flight money of 500pounds even though she had already landed in the UK because that was my intention before i lost my Job. So, i learnt one thing -you won't please everyone in this journey of life. Would have said lots of things but it would be too long. Thankfully, l later got a much better job and pay. Wishing you all the best and affliction will not rise the second time 👌
Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one can go to the Father except through him.❤️ Knowing Jesus is knowing peace, protection and provision ❤️ Jesus saves, Jesus heals and Jesus grants peace
you are so lucky that you had a firm support system. That is crucial. It’s taken me 30 years to wake up from that depression. Please keep on educating the youth! It is deep and urgently required. Succinct fully delivered. Kudos to ur wife #Nigeriansabroad @uknigerialiving #livingabroad #ukliving #diaspora @FolaRemi62 @FolaRemi Speaks
Truth be told that high pressure hamster wheel is the rest of your life in the uk and it does not get any better unless you win the lottery for a million pounds and can cash down for a house then you can have rest of mind in the uk. Anything short of that it’s high pressure environment of fast coming bills and jobs that don’t pay much and taxation. It’s why I left. Am a uk citizen but living in lekki now. Rest of mind. Wake up anytime I want and I can sleep for a whole year without falling through the cracks of bills and mounting debts. Naija is very sweet my brother. Those of you who japa will get to find out. Me I japada in 2019. Only issue about naija is looking for a way to earn pounds while in naija. Even earning just 200 pounds a month from some online source, that’s 400k a month. You are chopping life. Forget that japa thing. It’s a scam. You soon get to find out rest of mind is more valuable than first world infrastructure. Infrastructure that you can’t enjoy because bills is flying at you every 25 minutes, as my brother said a whole month feels like 25 minutes lol
Brother, you missed something called flexibility in a book called psychology of money. Most people think money is just about finance, but this book made me understand it's about psychology. You should get that book, and thank me later.
So true. Life in the UK is expensive.. my husband also lost his job and thank God we don’t have kids and I was able to still provide when he couldn’t. It is not easy, unfortunately people don’t understand.
Experience and exposure are the best teachers. Unfortunately, as a Senior Citizen, try to advise our youth on these things and “Steps in life” and you are regarded as “old school”. The grass is always greener from afar until you get here. Thank God, you were able to secure a job over time. Sure, lessons have been learnt. Stay blessed.
black brits have been tellling youa ll for years please dont say we never told you. you thought we were lying and didnt want you here. well those who cant hear must feel
I told you so, You had that shock because you didn't understand the UK system well. I laughed in one of your last videos. i aid to myself my bro will learn soon 😀😀😀😀
Im looking for a job currently, so everything you said is so true that i had to book an appointment with the GP to check on my depression and mental health. I have kids. Now i understand why people commit suicide. How did you get your job eventually ? I need the information pls
Those were big mistakes to go on holiday, send money to everybody back home, and buy a big new TV without having another job lined up. If you have passed your driving test Those savings would have been better spent buying a transit van. It not being that difficult making £1500 per week as a self employed delivery driver/removals driver.
The new generation of Nigerians coming into the UK need to get advice from those who've been here for decades..l mean, nobody will advice you to get into overdraft etc having had a clean credit slate and a lot of money before! It feels to me that a lot of people newly arriving are just groping in the dark..they've come with a lot of fantasy and ideals and tend to be 'stand-off' ish when you try to befriend them, l just don't understand it. Many will needlessly have to learn the hard way, hopefully earlier so that they can re-adjust quickly! Yes there is pressure everywhere! The difference is that western countries have infrastructure that works and solid rules in place
I laughed so hard watching this video 😂🤣😅 glad you learnt from your mistakes. ❤ I experienced financial stress a few months after we bought our house, so I can relate to your ordeal.
I think you didn’t have an understanding of the credit system in the UK. Hence you didn’t make the right decisions. Proper financial management is really key in having peace of mind abroad.
i relate to you contracting is good when it good but when its not good , you finish spending the money with nothing left as quick as and God help you get a job quickly . but its our greedy Nigerian Government causing all of us to run away from there . Good question how did we get here . if not for God keeping us , it can be very challenging but most still want to come here.
Can I just ask why you went away on vacation when you had no job? The biggest mistake you can ever make in this country is not having at least 3 month's salary in savings ie an emergency fund, this is especially the case if you do not have a permanent job.
Leave ke? Omo no worry!! You’ve learnt now and I’m sure you won’t make the same mistake again 😂 this country na SAVE SAVE SAVE SAVE o especially if your job isn’t permanent 🥹 Pele, happy you’re in a better place 😂

Sad for your mom to say that, I guess she doesn’t have an idea how it takes to be here I suppose, but I’m glad you’re in a better place ❤

Just stumbled on your age and I have watched 3 videos already. A fan and air-conditioned here. You are a good story teller o.
Never take on overdrafts. They are bottomless pits you might never be able to crawl out from.
