I propagated two I gallon pots of Super Blue Liriope by division and created 14 new plants. I put 12 of them in Rootmaker cell trays and two I planted straight into 1-gallon Rootmaker pots. My goal is to see how many super blue liriope plants I can propagate by division in one growing season. This is a great way to create new liriope plants for production to sell or just to have more plants for your landscape.

Enjoy all of your videos. What is the best way to get plants out of the 18 and 32 cell Rootmaker trays?
Thank You! You just let them root out in that container, as in when the roots fill each cell, Then they will just pull right out with the tree or plant roots, soil and all. I have my shumard red oaks that are just about ready so when I post that video you will be able to see.
Can the transplants overwinter inside? Could you try to grow roots in water from the ones whose roots were torn off? Thanks for the video. I just discovered these plants and want to make a border in one of my beds but they are pretty pricey.
They would overwinter inside, the would survive a normal winter outside or unless you live in an extreme winter area, you could keep them in a garage for the winter. Just be sure and water them occasionally. Don't know if they would grow roots in water,,wouldn't hurt to give it a try though!
How long until you can move the small ones to a bigger pot?
Two months at the most, hopefully less
