I got my skateboard about 2 years ago but didn’t really get into it until recently, and I can do a halfway decent Ollie in the grass where the board doesn’t move at all. I’m working on doing it on pavement while standing still at the moment.
for someone who just got a skateboard, you were doing very good!! when i first got on i couldnt even stand still😭 you have such great balance! definetly keep going !
Okay this was actually really impressive ! I've ordered a longboard and I'm so nervous to start cause everyone I watch is so amazing so it's cool to watch a new person at it
hey!! i have a longboard, and they're super fun and a lot easier to get the hang of so i definitely think it's a good place to start, but most longboards aren't skateable in the same way trick boards are because they're mainly made for cruising. my longboard is slightly longer than the average trick board and it's a completely different shape. it doesn't have a nose that sticks up, and the tail doesn't stick up as high, which means it's much harder to pop and get air, and difficult to flip once you move on to tougher tricks. longboards are also heavier than trick boards, and the wheels are larger and made of a slightly more malleable material (which is why they're more comfortable in my opinion). have fun longboarding, just remember they aren't made for the same thing! :)
@@HB-kx7gy hi I know it’s not the same person but I wanna try to help with your question. If your trying to start and get good balance I’d recommend longboards. They are wider and easier to balance on with bigger wheels. If you are trying to start doing tricks then buy a trick board from early on to get used to it. If you’re trying to cruise around a city area no tricks just fun then get a cruiser

Absolutely love your videos! Came here originally for your rollerskating videos but turns out all of your videos are very comforting. You do have good balance. I think you did great with your first time on a skateboard. Though I don't recommend the ollie as a first trick. There are many easier tricks you can try beforehand. And don't forget to practise the carving turns where you put more weight on your toe side edge or heel side edge (alternating between the two.)
@@Kawaiicup118 One easy trick I highly recommend before trying ollies is rolling off a gutter with your front wheels raised. If you're on a sidewalk / footpath, approach the gutter at moderate speed. Just before you reach the edge, raise your front wheels so that only the back wheels roll off and land with all four wheels together. You could also try a Frontside Boneless. And there's kind of a similar trick where you stand holding the board with one hand. You could hold the toeside edge of your board or the nose (your choice.) Then jump into the air and position the board under your feet with your hand. Then let go and land. I recommend trying this on grass first. Later on, you could try on concrete. When you get more confident, you could try the jump off a gutter or bench, ledge etc. Have fun!
I've been learning for a month and don't know how to do an ollie yet but here you are! A one day learner who knows how to do an ollie! Its amazing!! Enjoy your time skateboarding
This is absolutely glorious! I just picked up a Skateboard for the first time, age 31. I feel the pain, no balance whatsoever and I'm also NOT a gymnast :P
Yea to turn you lean in the direction you wanna turn, and you have to loosen the trucks (you’ll notice between the wheels on the axle thing there is a cylindrical thing that has a thing on it to loosen), and that way they move so you can turn (I had to watch a UA-cam video to learn how to ride a skateboard). Also they recommend learning an Ollie first because it’s the basis for many other tricks (like a kick flip, pop shuv-it, nollie, etc.). Also, the jumping in the air thing might actually be a good technique to work on how your legs move (like I can do an Ollie with the pop and everything but my back leg never leaves the ground hardly so the board doesn’t go very high). So I might actually borrow that, thank you.
wow you learn actually so so so so quickly . I'm 21 years old I learn skateboarding at day 3 that was pretty awesome ! I'm so happy that i found your channel but i think you should keep practicing than i think you should become a professional skateboarder. sending loves from Bangladesh
Wasn’t bad you know, problem is a lot of people don’t realise at this stage an ollie is the last thing you should be worrying about, you need to “become one” with just rolling around, pushing and feeling comfortable with being on the board, people often worry about what people think and honestly no one cares, skaters know how hard it is, they have all been through the same falls and scrapes, 99% of people give up quickly because it’s not easy and takes time, you can kick a ball, shoot a hoop as soon as you pick it up and see progression, all extreme sportsmen/women have the same traits, addictive personalities, a never give up attitude, and sometimes quite reclusive, we’re all the same and it creates a lot of very strong friendships, if you need help skating, go to your local skatepark and talk to people, might be the best thing you’ll ever do!

The foot that u push with make a short push with the tip of ur toe and when u turn put pressure on ur heals or toes depending on witch way u are turning
am I the only one that also watched this as well because I'm learning skateboarding too for the first time, and dont wanna be embarrassed if I'm bad haha
If your a beginner do not buy an Amazon skateboard! They are usually terrible compared to on made from actual quality parts! I’d recommend looking into videos on skateboarding for beginners from people like VL Skate, Braille, or Tactics.
Wait you actually learn so quickly no joke, attempting an Ollie on the same day u learn how to push is insane
you think??? damn well I better keep practicing

your good and if i needed skating classes your be the best teacher
if you ever come back to this skateboard learning thingy you got going on, make sure to skate around a bit more and get a lot more comfortable on it, this will help with a lot! you’re probably not gunna see this at all but also try to learn the strawberry milkshake, its cool as fuck
I guess you were wrong ;) I'll definitely look into the strawberry milkshake !!! thanks
me here tryna learn for a month and you did better than me in 30 minutes
The editing in this is really good
that made my whole DAY!!
I just got a skateboard for my birthday yesterday and I'm just wondering how you attempted Ollie so early i can nearly stay on for 10 seconds
"Our lord and savior jimmy nutrion" lmao. but fr tho, your video gave me confidence on skate boarding and I was finally able to push on the board :D (not much but I'm still very proud)
YESSSS YOU GO !!! glad I could help :d
I tried skating for the first time today and I can skate but I can't stop, I HAVE NOT FALLEN YET and I feel good about that, I almost fell but kept my balance and I just need to learn how to stop then whatever more
The foot that u push with make a short push with the tip of ur toe and when u turn put pressure on ur heals or toes depending on witch way u are turning
am I the only one that also watched this as well because I'm learning skateboarding too for the first time, and dont wanna be embarrassed if I'm bad haha
What skateboard did you buy?! I’m thinking of following in your footsteps hehe
Theres a link in the description ;)
If your a beginner do not buy an Amazon skateboard! They are usually terrible compared to on made from actual quality parts! I’d recommend looking into videos on skateboarding for beginners from people like VL Skate, Braille, or Tactics.
