In the early 90’s I used to drive from LA to Tulare at 3 AM. GLJ full blast while going up and over the grapevine. 120 mph, Met a smoking-hot country girl up there. Turning her onto GLJ was a fine way to start the relationship.

Seen GLJ several times when the brothers were together and both GLJ bands fronted by Jay and Michael separately. I have to say the magic is when these two were together...such a shame they couldn't keep it together, they could've been a bigger and more well known band (they were heading in that direction). I saw Jay last year in Lawrence, KS when they opened for the Alarm. I was so disappointed they only played for half an hour. I'm hoping the brothers reunite again and do a headlining tour. It would be awesome if both versions of GLJ were there and there were basically 2 shows Jay's GLJ and Michael's GLJ and they were both on stage for the songs they did together. It would give both brothers a rest when they did their individual GLJ songs and the bands would only have to play 1 set each. I think they had a difference before on which backing members to use for the reunion back in 1997 , so this way all the band members are there and get to play.
There will never be a reunion. And as for the band members that did the reunion in ‘97, Jay agreed to the tour but the rest did not. They didn’t want to work with M. So Jay had to do it with M’s band.
The way i would absolutely fucking DIE to see gene loves jezebel, siouxsie and the banshees, or 45 grave live in the 80s (i'd die just to see them now but unfortunately i live in a small town in the south)

Whenever I see Michael perform on stage, he's a live wire. But my heart goes to Jay Aston. He' a great with vocals and playing guitars.
Jay is by far the more talented of the two.

Micheal left because the direction of the band was going down badly so he decided to leave and Michael had some issues with his brother jay
Jay was the real star and singer of the band.He could sing very good. Michael was jealous. For me, Michael was the fifth wheel of the car.

Their early Discover and Immigrant live renditions are better. Miss the Aston twin GLJ performances and albums. I still have GLJ on my playlist.
