    Your videos are the best. You stop and show the prices. Some others just go so fast even when you pause the video the prices are blurry. They really are the closest experience to going their ourselves.

    After 3 successful trips in Japan I learned one important thing: if you find something you'd like to buy and it has a price tag that you think is fair, just buy it! Prices are all over the place. A Gameboy game can cost $10 to $100 based on the box, the cartridge, the location of the shop, etc.
    And I mostly agree of that Akihabara is not the best place for bargain hunters, but Trader in my opinion is still once of the few shops you should check :) . I bought really cool things from that store!

    • @4amLaundry
      @4amLaundry  8 місяців тому

      I used to go to Trader all the time it's a great store and super reasonable for the location but I've just been focusing on these guided so it's been a while. And for us the thrill of finding "extreme" deals is a big part of the fun but if you're here on vacation then you should definitely not be as cheap and stingy as us haha

    Great video. The catchment areas for Hard Offs out in the countryside tend to be bigger and there are fewer tourists driving out to them, so you can often find uncommon stuff or stuff that would be much more expensive in Akihabara. Again, prices may vary depending on the franchised location, but there are deals to be had (for example you certainly won't find that PSone w/screen in Tokyo for that price). Plus you get a road trip adventure out of it as well.
    It should be noted that, depending on the country you're originally from, the requirements to get an international license/permit to drive in Japan may be different.

    Great video as always! Sometimes it is these small stores where you can score large, as entire town's products come to that store only. Looking forward to your next video!
    FYI, that 16000 N64 game's name is Wetrix. It is one of rare titles that price escalated fast, especially due to its white color box that fades so quickly.

    • @4amLaundry
      @4amLaundry  8 місяців тому

      I knew Wetrix but the US cart is so different we both didn't recognize is, didn't know it was rare for that reason tho

    • @Daniel_YM_Lee
      @Daniel_YM_Lee 8 місяців тому +1

      @@4amLaundry It just my assumption, as I saw Wetrix CIB valued from KPY 10,000 to over 20,000... Too large gap in price despite the same condition except the condition of outer box. From my point of view, white box is one of problems N64 soft has, that fades too quick if not properly stored.

    • @4amLaundry
      @4amLaundry  8 місяців тому

      It does, my Shindou Wave Race 64 is super faded but it was also 300 yen so I'm not complaining haha

    • @ericng5707
      @ericng5707 8 місяців тому +1

      All the major car rental companies are about the same and you can see on their websites that the prices depend on the class of vehicle you're renting. It really doesn't matter which company you go with unless you absolutely want to support a particular car brand (Toyota Rentacar, Nissan Rentacar, etc.)

    • @4amLaundry
      @4amLaundry  8 місяців тому

      Good point to mention in the next video, the car rental was 8000 yen for the day but that varies where you rent it as well.

    I just arrived in Tokyo yesterday and will be doing some video game hunting today. My biggest question is, has any of the consoles and games been tested to make sure they work or is it pretty much a gamble? I plan on picking up a super famicom console and some games, maybe a Playstation

    • @castro1223
      @castro1223 8 місяців тому +1

      They have a test area where you can test the consoles.

    • @ericng5707
      @ericng5707 8 місяців тому +1

      If you're talking about Hard Offs specifically, the consoles that they put out in the normal stock shelves have been cleaned/tested so those have higher price tags. The consoles you find in the Junk section may or may not have been tested (sometimes you'll find a paper label with an explanation of what they found wrong when they tested it, sometimes you won't), but Hard Offs have a small area with power outlet/batteries where you can test before you deciding to buy (if the system powers up, reads discs, etc.).

    • @4amLaundry
      @4amLaundry  8 місяців тому +1

      The other 2 comments already answered it but there's usually a test area or you can ask the staff. Junk stuff is sold as-is but non junk stuff is always tested & working unless stated otherwise at Hard Off. They even have warranty on the items so you can return them if broken.

    yeah the bigger youtuber channels are almost a joke on every aspect, bought and paid for, clickbait, fake news you name it. Thats why im subbed to very few channels over 150k subs
    cause the bigger they get the dumber they become and more dependent they become on junk sponsors, algorithmic clicks, and the almighty $ sign.
    The one youtuber who shall remain nameless did his japan video, guy was so big he could barely get down the aisles over in japan and was whining about how "small" everything is over there.
