This is what I call informal interrogative grooming, to make sure he knows they know he screwed up and how not to do it again, for the record. That whole department needs an outside internal affair investigation!
This happened in Florida (correction: not FL but Georgia). I have never understood why he was never charged with ATTEMPTED MURDER. He tried to kill her and was surprised when she survived. The 911 operator, when he called at the time of the attack, was his mistress. She answered the phone, and they both pretended not to know each other. Also, since he was a cop all the police that went to the crime scene protected him and didn't arrest him. Cops covering up for each other and him.
I never knew about 911 operator was chick he cheated on his wife with. BUT it wasn't cops covering up because many cops go to jail, rather it was family ties in policing system that got him off.
I hate when useless parents use their kids after they get caught!!! What about my kids, what about my kids? Yeah, what about your kids? You should have thought about that before you committed the crime! You didn't care about your kids at the time of the crime, why should anyone else care about your kids now!!!
They say there's no deadline for charging someone with murder so I assume the same for attempted murder? I bet his girlfriend that turned him in started to see what Jessica was dealing with & wanted out & turned him in. Glad she got out still intact. I heard one of his sons has accused this loser with being abusive & we all know most children won't say anything bad about a parent who abuses them so one can only imagine what those children are living with. I only hope people would go to the press it's amazing how the tables can turn & maybe justice will catch up to this ex cop who put so many bullets into Jessica's head. If one young girl who saw that Brittany Spears was still after years & years still under her fathers conservative ship while working, touring & her father getting a cut of her money. Until one young fan stood outside a Courthouse & then others joined "Free Brittany" which caught the News Stations & it worked. Although Jessica's case is far more serous my point is people in numbers get together & you'll have You Tubers that look @ accountability regarding corrupt police & News Stations that didn't realize the corrupt investigation that took place afterwards will be there. They might get this dangerous guy off the streets & get Jessica the justice she so deserves & maybe help getting her children back. Maybe all those who helped with the cover up will be put in the cell beside him. I still see her face today as if it happened yesterday my heart breaks for Jessica & her children who want to be with her we only have one life & this is so unjust after she fought so hard to stay alive while thinking of her children. This is just so wrong & appalling. 🙏 💔 🇨🇦
That's most definitely 💯 truth of the matter! He did not care about the children by leaving them with their Mom who was attempted murder by himself awhile he had left that apartment with no supervision for children after he had shot their Mom with his police service gun. They could had found their shot Mom in closet and they could had gotten hold of his say attempted murder service gun themselves that was left behind inside the apartment when he had left. 👏
I remember this case when it happened & was happy Jessica survived against all the odds. I was appalled that he walked away on what should have been attempted murder leaving her with months & months of rehab & life altering damage due to her injuries. He should be behind bars who would back a guy let alone a police officer for what he did to her? She is no threat to her children & Jessica should have her children with her 24/7.If she needs live in help with the children it should be provided by the Victims Fund if they have it in her State. When the detective tells him that he’s not conducting an internal investigation on him, he’s not trying to reassure or comfort him. He’s telling him that he’s being questioned criminally.
I don't understand the confusion in this comment thread. There are two detectives in the room. One is a man (in the corner) the other is a woman (at the table). The OP was commenting on the male detective that initially told the suspect that they are not doing an Internal Affairs investigation. Then the female detective took over the interview.

You can't trust the FBI neither. They got caught lying on Trump working with the Russians. The emails came out from Twitter after Elon bought it. Corruption to the highest level. Because their afraid of Trump exposing them . All Facts
The officers questioning him know the truth. They do. That’s the scary part of all this. How they work together even when they know the truth. It’s clear he KNOWS this man shot his wife.
fact! let your wife divorce you steal your wife and kids while sexing alpha in your bed. no need to murder, let her clean your wallet and put you to the street this dude isnt feminist at all, he has no respect for women right to steal mens kids house wallet. so sad that someone suffered from her exploitation. not a reason for him to be violent.
Can someone tell me why it's so important ( to the cops ) that he kept the gym bag with her clothes in it? Is it just to show he lied and that he didn't give all her stuff back? Even so, what's the big deal ? He did more than steal her clothes, he tried to kill her and they are worried about him keeping some of her clothes🙄..
This was my question as well but I think that his wife was preparing to leave him and the night she was shot she had actually packed that bag to leave him. When he shot her he then took the bag she had packed so that no one know she was preparing to leave. That was my take on it,not sure if it is correct.
This is too much drama over a old boyfriend girlfriend finding some backpack later on down the road after splitting up.... what the big deal with the backpack have to do with anything?
Did this cop ever get charged with attempted murder? If he was the sheriff's grandson they for sure helped cover it up. But now they want to charge him for this? Which is so trivial compared to attempted murder. And now he's crying because of his kids? 1 of which isn't even his?! He LOVES working there because as a cop he can cover things up! 🤦♀️
They are saying she tried commit suicide,I'm sure since he is the grandson of the sheriff & the sheriff is friends with the judge, things were covered up & evidence tampered with.
Thanks for sharing this story. I have a feeling that this corrupt cop isn't any different than the others in that he likely suffered trauma during his own childhood that helped perpetuate the outcome seen in this video. Again, I firmly believe all police officers and judicial staff should be required to undergo psychological assessment screenings and have trauma informed care incorporated into their training curriculum. If we ever get to that place, I guarantee, we will see a dramatic drop in police brutality and the murders we've been witnessing over the last several years committed by police officer's hands.
I really believe that officers should be submitted to personal stress induced training to see their actions and how they resolve the conflict. To at least see if they have hallmarks of a unstable person when angry or jealous. I’m not sure how it would work given that it’s hard test them when they know they are being tested and it’s unethical to test them when they are unaware but there needs to be better testing in stress related areas
You're absolutely right! Just recently, in the murder trial of Atatiana Jefferson, (the whole case is a super tragic story, if you don't know about it, I encourage you to read/watch info on the case) the police officer that killed her FAILED a mental evaluation that he took in the police academy. Even after he failed it, the Fort Worth Police department hired him. Like, what's the point of the test if they'll hire you regardless?? I think there needs to be a HUGE change in the hiring/recruitment/ and mental capabilities of these future officers. Some of the scariest people with the deepest, darkest motives are hired on to protect the public, and it's terrifying 😩
I don’t know if you’re referring to a specific type of testing, but they are tested in stressful situations all throughout their training & while they’re supervised. Presumably they undergo psychometric testing too. They do in Australia
This level of corruption and double standards has to stop. There is no point in having a legal system if it only applies to people on one side of society.
These police departments need to do a better job weeding out these psycho/sociopaths before hiring them! This is crazy. Thank God she lived and kudos to the girlfriend for turning him in. Shame on the department he worked for for covering it up and almost allowing him to get away with murder. It's bad enough he took her kids from her and accused her of being suicidal.

Maybe it would help if there would be I don't know a law that you have to do 3 years of police school like in ANY OTHER industrial country not 3 months like in the USA he would have never become a copper in Europe let alone that corruption is scary !
I remember this well. That tough woman held on and lived. I think the sound of her baby crying flipped that motherly switch and allowed a part of her to survive
Sorry but that not how things like that work. Many people survive headshots and we’re just incredibly lucky to have her. Many mothers die and it doesn’t mean they’re any less because “the mother instinct wasn’t strong enough to defied death.” She most likely didn’t even hear and was unconscious

There should be a federal investigation into this. This is horrible that he walks away a free man and he tried to take her but for a miracle the girl survived not ONE but TWO shots to the head. Wow!
keep sharing the video, call the police station that did this interrogation and ask them why they let this man walk free, yet will jail someone for not using a turn signal
You think that's horrible? What word would you use to describe this?
HE'S STILL A COP TODAY!!
Like the feds are reliable
He walks free and Daniel Holtzclaw gets 265 years, makes zero sense
So the officers think it was okay that he tried to kill his wife, but are most concerned that he didn't tell them he had a bag of her clothing. Horrendous!! Attempting to murder his wife, yet being granted custody of the children and making his wife look like she was a danger to her children. What a corrupt police system !!!
I remember seeing this case a few years ago. It ate me up that it seemed like he got away with it. The details of their relationship made me sick.
This case just popped up on my timeline. I haven't been able to get over what happened to her for years now. Thanks for posting this because I'm need some type of closure.
This is a perfect example of how they cover for eachother, unless they are caught red handed. If cops can cover up they do and will.
No. Police officers are sent to jail. It was fact that his family (in policing) pulled strings.

Imagine being this poor woman going to court after being shot by this guy only to have a judge turn the truth completely around infront of a jury without a tiny shread of real evidence then give your children to a killer the judge should be jailed

This is so disgusting, he was so clearly guilty from the start and the cops knew that. But worked hard to get him off the hook rather than getting justice
This is what I call informal interrogative grooming, to make sure he knows they know he screwed up and how not to do it again, for the record. That whole department needs an outside internal affair investigation!
They need an outside, neutral investigation and NOT an internal investigation at all. I think you meant to say this.
you can tell this is really hard for that sergeant. he’s treating him like his son.
That's part of the problem.
But he gave the victim no justice.

I'm sure glad that I don't have a kid.
SONIA VANOUS, AMEN AMEN!
We care about the kids. We care that he gets locked up!!! We care about Jessica.
This guy is a walking time bomb what police department would want to hire him he's a danger to everyone that doesn't agree with him & he comes with a badge! Shame on all those who protected him there a disgrace to humanity. I wish all the best to Jessica she's a survivor & deserves all the support she needs. May a man with a good heart come into her life she certainly deserves that & much more. 🙏 ❤️ 🇨🇦I

This was my question as well but I think that his wife was preparing to leave him and the night she was shot she had actually packed that bag to leave him. When he shot her he then took the bag she had packed so that no one know she was preparing to leave. That was my take on it,not sure if it is correct.

The testing should be done by a secret agency that they come across inthe public.
That is done. On my department it’s called a BPAD.
I don’t know if you’re referring to a specific type of testing, but they are tested in stressful situations all throughout their training & while they’re supervised. Presumably they undergo psychometric testing too. They do in Australia
There would be only a few good cops working 12 hrs.shifts
