    I can't imagine running a lawn care business and not being mechanically inclined. I've saved $1000s by repairing/modifying my equipment myself.

    Find a spot to drill/weld/fab/whatever some pins so the ramp won't go up like that. Just put the ramp down slide your steel pin in said hole (like a trailer hitch pin) and poof magic, ramp stays down.

    Great job man. I'm in ohio as well. FYI you guys do trim backwards though 😂 your throwing the grass onto the sidewalks. It's cool though everyone has their own way plus you usually do end up needing to blow the sidewalks off regardless which way you trim 😂

    Step one, live where the wealthy are. People around me don't pay for weekly mowing, it's all bi-weekly. Very few are interested in mulching/seeding/fertilizing. I do get some hedge trimming and general cleanup gigs. I live near a military base, lots of lower middle class and people who rent their homes. On the upside, my closing rate is more like 85%. You can't worry about people who don't like your price, because they wouldn't be good customers anyway.

    My guy in the video you have done 80% of the work stop working for the man and start your own lawn and landscaping company, come up with your own name and logo you have the drive to own your own business instead of making the man his money so he just can stand there and make calls and write the checks. Trust me you will be happier don’t work for a franchise.

    • @MikeAndes
      @MikeAndes  Рік тому +5

      A franchise isn’t for everyone. I make that clear. One thing highlighted in this video that the franchise “did” for Brice was setup dozens of estimates and accepted mowing jobs without him ever needing to take a call or give pricing… or have an office with utilities and training up office staff on customer service and software. I have 7 locations I personally own and am starting another one in June. I didn’t hire or train the GMs. The systems and procedures created by the franchise did. I make more from my locations than the franchise combined. My passive returns from these locations will far out pace the stock market or real estate market (partly why I sold $3M of real estate in 2022). The franchise is NOT required to start one location but to have a location that runs without you, on systems, can become multiple locations and support your managers … much easier with a franchise.
      Remember I was a franchisee (Anytime Fitness) before becoming a franchisor. If you want to work in your business for decades, independent is the way to go. If you have more of an investor mindset and want to grow quickly franchising is a great investment vehicle.

    • @sirath35
      @sirath35 Рік тому +1

      Depends entirely on the man and his strengths; some guys have the complete skill set and drive other need a helping hand via a franchise. Don’t know how much Augusta charges but here in NZ you’d have to be a fool to franchise as it’s rated the worlds easiest country to start a business

    He's so poor, he owns a house, multiple trucks, mowers, all the equipment necessary to run a lawn care business, marketing. Man I can relate so hard to this guy. My heart goes out to him.

  • @sirath35
    @sirath35 Рік тому

    This entire video doesn’t make sense. You have three to four guys, a huge warehouse, 3x trucks and a car, all professionally signwriten. 2+ standers, push mowers, 2x backpack blowers, etc etc.
    That’s a huge capital investment to only see $40k ROI. Your asset utilisation must be insanely low.

    • @MikeAndes
      @MikeAndes  Рік тому +2

      Lets assume the locations does $500K once optimize for the 3 trucks. Lets assume 15% profit after owners pay and/or GM. Thats $75K. Very achievable. Thats about a 80% annual ROI (initial cost around 100K for trucks and equipment). Honestly that's not bad.
