#95 for the Steelers is Keanu Benton. He is the 2nd, 2nd round pick. He is at this time, the best player from the steelers rookie class, he will start. He has super violent hands, former wrestler. You would like him. He has pro bowl potential 2-3 years down the line. Steelers are playing him as a NT that can pass rush. He is my favorite player from the draft, he unlocks a lot for Cam which has a ripple affect imo. Great content sir, im a fan.

Larry O, Benton and Cam with TJ and Alex on the outside... SICK. But it's the ILB's we have now. They're all pit bulls. This D is going shock teams. Plus the depth players could start too. Un real. Such good drafts and free agency with the new management. Super exciting..

Nick Herbig has shown good flexibility and incredible balance fighting through contact
on his way to the QB. I'm looking forward to watch him go up against big azz Tackles like
the Ravens Dawand Jones and Cincy's Zeus Brown Jr to see how they handle
his quick get-off and low driving bend around the corner.
You can see how instinctive he plays and switches to his counters very quickly
and with fluidity. TJ and Highsmith have praised Nick for not only asking questions
and learning new moves, but for how quickly he is incorporating and winning
with the new tactics he picks up. Herbig has us Steelers fans excited.
Looking forward to our match ups again this year. Nice work on the film study.

The bills left tackle from what I know is their starter, Allen got rid of the ball so it’s technically a win for the lt but I’d say a 10th of second sooner and that’s a strip sack and a dangerous play for Allen’s arm. A diamond in this years draft for sure finding this guy!

lol Steelers fan here, I watched a lot of his college tape...from what I remember...idk if he relied on it, but he didn't have go too deep in his bag of tricks. SO, seeing him do all of these so quickly and succeed at them in some capacity is insane in my opinion. Also, he was undersized in college...he seems to have put on some weight...not a lot but just enough to help with strength but not affect speed. He has an incredible first step...one day id love to see him add a bull rush into his bag. not something crazy...but a nice change up. All in all....the Dline tallent in this division is pretty scary haha each team has studs all around. I just wonder how Baltimore can help Clowney. once again good vid. Love to see more on the D Thompson in Cleveland...very exciting to watch.

Really enjoy your breakdowns and analysis of teams other than the Ravens. Especially the Steelers. One of our biggest issues over the last 3 - 4 seasons has been quality depth at outside LB. If Preseason is any indication we've addressed that for this season at least. Herbig is looking more than capable and we also signed Marcus Golden in free agency who has also shown himself to be extremely disruptive. Hopefully rotating those two with Highsmith and Watt gives us high level production consistently regardless of who is in.

What is the difference between the Monken, Zac Taylor, Stefanski, and Canada offenses?? Does the “West Coast Offense” still rule the NFL or has the Air Raid, Power Spread Option Offenses caught up ?? And what about the RPO, Play-Action, Quick Game, and Dripback passing games ?? Finally Defense. And my opinion, the side that still wins Championships 🏆 What scheme does new Browns DC Schwartz use ? Is the Steelers Base 34 the same as their 34 Nickel D ? Shows us the “matchup” or “specialized personnel package” Defenses based off what the opposing Offense is doing……!! Is positionless football more relevant than ever ??*

@@all_22_films*In the last 20-25 years, has there been a NFL Defense that employed 4 Hall of Fame Defenseman ?? I think of the Seahawks, Ravens, Bucs, and Steelers Defenses and come up with only the Bucs and the 2023 Steelers, as the only teams with 4 HOF players on the D. The Bucs had Sapp, Brooks, Lynch, and Rhonda Barber. The 2023 Steelers, today have DT Cam Heyward, OLB TJ Watt, FS Minka Fitzpatrick, and CB Pat Peterson. 🤔 The Niners have 2 future HOF players, with Bosa and Warner. The Eagles ? The Rams with Aaron Donald, OLB Von Miller, and CB Ramsey, played with 3 HOF guys. Those Seattle Defenses with Wagner, Earl Thomas, and Richard Sherman also had 3. The 2000 Ravens D ?? The 2008 Steelers with only SS Troy Polamalu in the Hall of Fame as both LBs James Farrior and James Harrison, not yet elected. Only Harrison has a REAL shot at the Hall. NT Casey Hampton was one of the best to ever play the position but is not in the HOF. CB Ike Taylor, FS Ryan Clark, and DE’s Aaron Smith & Bret Keisel will likely never be in Canton Ohio*
*That Bucs D also had “all-world talent” Simeon Rice as the pass rush specialist, in the Tampa 2 Defense, coached by the HOF Coordinator, Monte Kiffin. The Bucs Defense set a NFL record with Defensive Touchdowns scored (8) in a season, and then scored 4 times in the SuperBowl vs the Raiders*
*The 2023 Steelers, like the 2002 Buccaneers are led by HC Mike Tomlin who was coaching the Secondary in 2002 as a Bucs assistant for that legendary Defense. Tomlin now designs the Defense in Pittsburgh, with both Kiffin and Dick Lebeau as the main influences to Tomlin. He brought the Tampa2 concepts with him to Pittsburgh and implemented some of the 4-3 Tampa2 wrinkles, with the Dick LeBeau 3-4 Fire Zone. I mention all this b/c those historic Defenses were so innovative, yet so very different in philosophy as well*
*This 2023 Steelers Defense is as physically imposing as any in the NFL and should finish Top5 in most categories. But the Offense complimenting the D with a year 2 jump from the QB, and a much improved OLine will be the main reasons why the Defense is tops in the AFC. The Offense will also play a physical style with a conservative, ball-controlling power run game that fits the QB and the Defense. Keeping the D fresh, and keeping the AFC best QBs, Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Rodgers, Lamar, Herbert, and Lawrence off the field!! The Pittsburgh philosophy has always been, “Pressuring the QB and Shutting down the Run game” which forces opposing Offenses to become one dimensional. That’s the way the Steelers have always played D. But the “Takeaways and Red Zone D” are 2 areas the Steelers coaching staff have stressed the last few seasons. Those reasons are why Pittsburgh has had so many great Defenses. Pittsburgh has finished #1 in Total Defense, an NFL league high 7 times, and the next closest team being the Ravens with 3 such seasons. The Steelers have also allowed the fewest points scored, NFL high 9 seasons. The Steelers led the NFL in total sacks from 2017 thru 2021, a NFL Record 5 straight seasons*

tJ plays best on the left. Highsmith plays both sides but better on the right, especially when TJ is in. Herbig seems good on Both sides. That means he can be effective when he fills in for Either TJ or Highsmith. We’re gonna get great pressure on Every snap. That spells doom for offenses. They better get used to getting rid of the ball Fast or the Steelers are gonna rack up sacks. Love it!!

Ton of potential, could be special. Only thing really see? He needs to get stronger holding the edge in run game. Off season of weights etc should set him straight. What really stands out for me is his flexibility. Herbig and Marcus Golden are the main back ups.
Herbig has had a few issues in run fits but overall he has been giving OTs fits. Not just sacks also pressures on multiple pass rushes.
If Oweh learned to use his hands like Herbig...sigh

To answer your Q in the vid - Herbig will rotate with the starters. He’s their #3 to start the year, in practice. Way too productive to not give him regular rotational reps. I would also expect PIT to get him on the field *in addition to* Watt & Highsmith at times as well. Golden is now a HQ #4 EDGE for PIT.

      @nathantewkesbury8175 11 місяців тому +2

*Yes I believe Golden will be the “Run/Nuetral” down Edge LB, and Herbig the “pass rush” LB. I also wonder if maybe it’s that both Golden and Herbig stay on the left and right side like Highsmith and Watt. Meaning Golden is the Left OLB subbing for Watt and Herbig the ROLB, subbing for Highsmith. But they definitely will have a specialized package with all 3 of Watt, Highsmith, and Herbig as the OLB. Figure it will be a “Nickel OverLoad Front” with either Highsmith or Watt depending on the called strength, as the “Psuedo Off-Ball LB”*
