Rob, thanks for this video. I’m 90 and starting a channel. I have tons of experiences and events that recently come to me to start my day. They are always good memories that distract me from the pain I have from some form of neuropathy doctors have been unable to find the cause of. Since I’ve found your channel, the same thing has happened and I binge watch your videos to lower the pain. We are on the same wavelength because the day before You talk about a subject on your walk, I think about the same thing and try to start a video. I watched a video where you showed how you get stuck at the beginning and try over and over. I’m going to try doing that. Ok. That’s enough for now. I’m at a pain level where I can start my day thanks to you.
His videos are refreshing and informative and I’m getting the nudge to stop rambling and begin editing more. I pray your pain miraculously diminishes. 🙏🏽
Congratulations on starting your UA-cam channel at the ripe, young age of 90! I just started my channel at the age of 78, a few weeks ago and it's been fun and enlightening. That just goes to prove that us older people have the drive to keep going and make our lives the best that it can be. Good luck with your neuropathy. I have the same problem too, evidently not as severe as yours. I too pray that your pain becomes more manageable with time.
@ thanks for the comment. Today I practiced trying to start my first video. I have to ditch the habit of being a content consumer and concentrate on being a content creator. Something is holding me back that I can’t put my finger on. I’m going to work on it. Good luck 👍 with your channel.
I've just started my channel. I'm passionate about health and wellness. I've only posted a few videos, and I still only have 61 subscribers. BUT! I've had at least a dozen people approach me in real life to tell me that the few videos that I have posted have inspired them to take better care of their health. The impact I'm having early in my UA-cam career motivates me to step up my game on this platform.
I remember when TV always shutdown at 1 a.m. and the vertical bars came on. Plus the morning countdown screen when TV would start broadcasting again. Thanks for the memories! Cheers, Ian.
Stopped watching TV about 20 years ago. I have no idea what is on the news. Life is still good. UA-cam has opened up the world of knowledge. Now I'm learning to create content and add to that knowledge base (maybe). The hat is nice. Good to see young folks can still create with their hands.
Absolutely! For me, it is more about having a great outlet to create and to learn. I have an engineering background and have lots to share, but video editing, thumbnail creation, and the whole artistic element is not a natural part of me. I'm learning, and I appreciate the great information from your channel.
That sounds so much like me! I also have an engineering background... math, sciences... so all this "creative" stuff is something I've had to learn... and is something anyone CAN learn if they really want to :-) Thanks for sharing!
UA-cam has changed life in so many ways. I have learned a great deal over the years just by searching for the topic of the day. I gave up TV 22 years ago. UA-cam is what I watch all the time and a bit of Netflix
Thanks Rob, that comment you made about making videos for future adult versions of your kids resonated with me right away. That’s exactly what my channel is about it.
Hi Rob, very nice talk. I feel a bit nostalgic of that time now 😅 and you’re right. It has changed so much and so fast in the last 25 years… Let’s change our lives!
Another great video Rob! I was born in 95 so just as the dial up internet and computers became commonplace within homes here in Ireland. It was an interesting time to see as technology and electronic devices progressed over the years, reflecting on it as I matured. I grew up filming on a vhs camcorder to begin with and in later years have even filmed with 8mm film which my uncle would have used in the late 70s. It's amazing how it's changed and of course there are a lot more oppurtunies for us seeing that UA-cam as surpassed Netflix. Keep up the great work.
I still remember watching colour t.v. for the first time lol Oh and before that I remember complaining to my Mom "why isn't Lucy on today, who cares about landing on the moon!" Then rushing home from work in the 80's to watch music videos. So many advancements, makes me wonder what my Granddaughter will see. Great video Rob.
We agree ❤ so glad we started our channel..New subscriber 😊 yes I remember 80’s and 90’s..never thought we would have a time we didn’t have cable..haven’t had cable for years ❤ UA-cam is the way to go ❤
Aloha Rob, I loved how you went down the memory lane. I am from GenX - I remember all those changes and with in technology that you mentioned. I also agree with you that we need to be creators instead of just consumers. It’s so easy to watch your video from beginning to end. I remember when I first discovered your channel when you don’t have the 1,000 yet - i subscribed and I knew your channel will be successful - and look at you now! Congratulations and keep going 🤙🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽✨ - hey, if and when you visit Maui, please let me know - let’s meet up - actually let’s officially meet as a biz then maybe you can do some tax write-off (oh, not sure if that is the same in Canada). Anyway, this is a long comment now. Aloha, Liza
Rob, Yet again you say what I needed to hear today (Van lifer and its wet and miserable out there!) The scenary, your passion and the ideas were just so on point. Just fired up my generator so I have enough power to edit today's video late into the night, who know, that next upload could be the ONE....
Another sweet video Rob. All great points you make about technology. I’m not far behind you age-wise and I couldn’t agree more about the progress we’ve witnessed. But the real reason I always stick around to the end of your videos is down to how you come across. I’m always thinking: “Now, this is a dude I could have a beer and a proper chat with.” All credit to you for being so real and authentic, brother. May your channel go from strength to strength. Big shout from the UK. 🙌
Here in the UK they played the National Anthem at the end of the day’s programmes! I’m sure my Grandparents stood up out of respect! 😂 Beautiful scenery and yes, I watch UA-cam on my TV when I have lunch and in the evenings if I’m home alone 😊
Actually they did that here too! The Canadian National Anthem as the TV stations were signing off for the night, and again when they started up again in the morning. I had forgotten about that :-)
Hi Rob Always remember we had 3 channels on our tv in the UK,our first TV back in the late 60's was a coin operated rental one!! Ha,ha .These days we are spoiled for choice. But as we work so hard trying to keep up a decent living were too tired to watch anything and go to be early! Its frighting how tech has evolved so fast!
This is a great video and inspiring.. I started a channel about 7 months ago or so. Its not about me, but about the Muppets that I grew up with and loved. So I sourced videos and shared them on UA-cam. I am mostly doing it for learning and how to improve etc. I have almost 500 videos and almost 500 subscribers. But your right, it is a learning curve and so important to see what people enjoy watching. I myself am thinking of making UA-cam videos with myself and my life experiences. Or something else, I don't know yet. but its always good to see people our age watching and enjoying content. I'm 58 in August, I better start soon I guess lol.. Again thanks for a great video :)
When you mentioned the fee for not rewinding the video rental I was projected 35 years into the past! Very inspirational video and one of your best yet. Thanks!
Thanks for the content! I set up my first UA-cam channel a couple weeks ago to share my wife and I’s metal art and functional art pieces. Your videos were to the point and explained the process very well. It really helped me get things started. We are excited to see where this goes. Thank you! Fun to reflect on the progression of technology.
Rob, thanks for the great video and I appreciate your showing us the beauty of the snow? Even though I have mobility issues and would be unable to walk in that snow, your video makes me feel that I'm there with you, huffing and puffing all the way. Thanks again for all you do.
I actually miss the days of having to rent movies, waiting to see those certain holiday specials that only came on once a year, and being able to slowly enjoy a tv series instead of binge watch. As soon as your video started I thought to myself that I like your hat. Nice that your daughter made it. :) I also like that sweatshirt. The end was fun.! Honestly most of the time I just listen from my computer as I do things because if I were to sit for all the UA-cam that I watch in a day, I'd be sitting A LOT. So I pick and choose. I'm glad I caught the end.
Georgious snow! 😍Plus great video, so encouraging! I do remember that, too. Television back then compared to today's streaming, unbelievable change. I remember the signoffs, too. 😝 Going uphill and talking, that is a workout in my world. Great job!
I am also 56. First we didnt have tv, as kid watched at neighbours house. 😂 At this moment i am watching a lot of youtube, daily, no news on tv anymore. 😊
Hello Rob. Well done and thanks for the memory lane. I love that you say you guys it’s like you’re talking to a group of friends and it seems very authentic so I would keep it. I love the hat your daughter made she did an amazing job and yes, she should sell them. And put Rob the Maritimer on the label. 😁 I’m going to point out something that you do very well on your videos, and that is keeping our attention I put on your video and I am getting ready and you say hey look at this and I had to stop whatever I was doing just to go see what you told me look at. the beautiful icicles and I was like oh yeah that is nice so I moved my phone in front of my dresser so I wouldn’t miss anything lol😂 so it’s a very good teachable video as well as entertaining so I am learning since I will soon be launching my business on UA-cam. I was going to do it on Instagram, but I am so disappointed with them .if I post a video on Instagram, I get less views than I do on UA-cam. so continue the good work may God our Lord Jesus Christ continue blessing you always. And for the VHS, be kind and rewind 😂 📼
Aww thank you so much! That's totally by accident as my mind does tend to wander when I'm telling a story! If a squirrel runs in front of me I'm probably going to say, "Oh look, a squirrel!" and then forget what I was saying to you lol!! So I'm happy to hear the the natural way I talk is what you like to hear... so thank you for that!! Instagram and UA-cam are two very different audiences... some content works better on IG and some better on YT... if UA-cam is working best for you then definitely just stick with that. Best of luck!!
Hey Rob! I just watched you for the first time a few days ago. I snickered a bit at hearing that most of your followers and watchers are middle aged women. If I was middle aged, that means I'll be living until I'm about 132. But, now, I understand your audience. You have the qualities of a trusted, safe friend. I appreciate you so much. I turned 66 yesterday and my self-assigned label, for years, has been that of 'Creative Entity', long before a Creator was anything but God lol. I spent most of my life in professional theatre, starting as an actor, then branching out to direct, write musical plays for children, teach and produce. The last ten years, I've become a survivor of experienced piggybacked traumas, which rendered me nearly paralyzed emotionally, suffering from PTSD, unable to work and, subsequently, poorer than a country church mouse. I isolate. I write, paint, design and repurpose clothing, started crocheting, learning Italian and French, write songs...a Jill of many trades, an authority on none. I keep setting up obstacles for myself, supported by fear: of not being able to technically accomplish my desires, of not feeling as if I'm an 'authority' on anything, having enough valuable content to share, nobody will watch or care, and the list goes on. I've researched so much that methods have changed since I started. I have an abundance of ideas, about 50+journals and notebooks of writing and ideas and have let fear and indecision become my self-imposed purgatory in trying to figure out a niche. I'm an ADHD poster child and an algorithm nightmare. I have a slight following on FB but my audience demographic is about 95% men. I think the attraction may be a fantasy they've imagined based on a two dimensional illusion, but not the real, flawed, fractured person that I am. So I have no idea who my audience will be, if any. I'm highly experienced acting as different characters on-stage, but not just as being myself. I never even took a curtain call as the actor, but, as the character. My creative ideas are in overdrive, but, are useless, unless I act on them. I visually picture video ideas I have which all involve fairly extensive editing. YIKES! I've accomplished it to a minor level, and believe, given time, I could become proficient, but it takes me FOREVER, like hours and hours forever. I never considered doing as you are, being yourself and talking about what interests you. Onstage and in photos, I'm a storyteller that creates illusions. I'm not sure I even know how to be myself, but, obviously have no problem over-sharing with someone who has no idea of my existence. I'm definitely atypical for someone my age and fight against comparing myself to women like Raina of Simple Retired Life, who is so lovely and together and has a condo. Presently, I live off of one fourth of her simple life income. I went from living a very comfortable upper middle class lifestyle, to becoming homeless post divorce. I've moved 9 times in the last 4 years. This definitely isn't where I thought I'd be at this point and must be proactive to create a positive upward trajectory. I must create, I need to make an income and I want to make a difference. I've name checked at least 30 different channels names, and could use that as an indecision obstacle again, but, if I have to, I'm going to just draw one out of a hat. Since watching you, I've received the gift of support to be courageous, from an unexpected, sub-zero tolerant, daughter's handmade- hat- wearing Canadian. I'm going to do it, Rob! And I'm NOT going to tell anyone, per your suggestion, so as not to confuse the algorithm any worse than it may have with me. Whew. Now, I'm accountable. I'm scared, but I'm going to do it! Thank you so much for the gift of you!
You can absolutely do it, if it's something you want to do :-) Personally, I think "being yourself" is the easiest person to be so that's why I usually suggest that for people wanting to get into UA-cam. But since you're an actress, perhaps that doesn't apply to you... you may not have any trouble being a "character" if you like. The editing does hold a lot of people back... if you just try to keep that simple, you'll save yourself a ton of time. Thank you for sharing your story and best of luck to you! :-)
Thanks for the walk down memory lane, we are the same age, the best part of the modern means of consumption is the ability to skip ads. I choose to “watch” the ads on this vid as a means of support for you. But, it was like pulling teeth! The number of long ads (over 90 secs) was too much! I’m not likely buy something from one of those ads that drag on & on with “too good to be true” type of sales pitches. Can you do a deep dive on ads here on UA-cam? Do you have the ability to choose short, medium, long lengthy ads? How we can help you while also keeping our sanity and taking control of our time. Keep up the great work brother! Rob in NE, WA, US. watching on iPad FWIW via a browser.
I think I'm overdue to make a video talking about UA-cam ads :) But for now, maybe this will help: I don't have anything to do with what ads are shown during my videos, UA-cam takes care of that. What I DO have control over is whether or not I want my video to be monetized (i.e. allow UA-cam to place ads in them), and for that I say yes. Now, how many ads will UA-cam put in a video? If the video is shorter than 8 minutes, there can only be the ad at the beginning... no "mid-roll" ads. If its longer than 8 minutes, then they may put mid-roll ads in as well. As for the types of ads (skip-able, how long, etc), again, that's youtube deciding. One way out of having to watch ads is to sign up for UA-cam Premium. That's what I've done since I'm basically on youtube all day long every day lol! With Premium, there are no ads at all. As for how a creator gets paid... I get a percentage of all ad revenue UA-cam collects while my videos are playing. If the people watching my videos have a UA-cam Premium account, then UA-cam sends me a small percentage of the Premium fees they collect. 93% of my youtube revenue comes from regular viewers and 4% comes from premium viewers. The rest comes from Super Chats, Super Thanks, etc. I hope that helps!
Nice to see the scenery where you live. Thought I'd see you with a Timmy in your hand as you have to hold the camera. Cable TV in Halifax was different when I lived there in the 70's. I still remember that funny cable show from Bangor Maine" Stacey's Country Jamboree" 😊
Haha! Most people WOULD have a Tims in their hand especially on a cold day like this... but I'm not a coffee drinker ;) And I TOO remember cable TV from Bangor! I don't remember the show you mentioned but I can plainly here the old guy saying, "WLBZ TV BANGOR MAINE!" I think it was channel 4... wow, can't believe that's still in my memory banks! I was probably 10 years old lol!!
cool vid mate. im rebooting my channel for the first tme in a decade this year. older , wiser, more confident. ready to go for it. thanks from australia
Hi! We X generation remember when there was "nothing" well, TV, radio and the phone...and today we get to be in a futuristic sci-fi movie...we are living in the future we thought about in the 1980's ...stuff is still missing, but we are getting there... Loved you video Rob! Keep them coming😊!
Love watching your videos, me being an outdoor gal. My goodness…the lay of the land there. Absolutely amazing. 😍Oh and I enjoy listening too. Great video…I “see” where you going. 😉
The worst part of growing up in the 70s is the fact that the children were the channel changers!!! The amount of times my grandma called me from DOWNSTAIRS to change the channel for her!!! 😂
That gives me some good information regarding the analytics and how to dive into what videos did better than others, etc. I appreciate the advice and information. Take care.
I like your words at 18.20 secs in. very encouraging. It's been a whirlwind in time from 1980s - It's time to really get a better civilisation for all to keep it beautiful
Why are you not allowed to ask for people to subscribe anymore? Rob I gotta tell you I’ve been watching a lot of UA-cam videos over the last couple years and you’re truly so genuine and helpful to your community. I think I need to book a one on one with you get some clarity.
It’s not that you’re not allowed to ask people to subscribe, it’s that I don’t believe asking actually helps. Today, most people are well enough aware that their they want to see more of your videos they should subscribe to your channel…. And people know how to do that. You only want people to subscribe if they “really want to” anyways… subscribers who don’t watch many of your videos or watch them for very long may actually be hurting channels by dragging metrics down (CTR, average view duration, etc)… it’s these metrics being “good” that UA-cam looks at when deciding how much to push your video out or not. Those are my thoughts on it anyways :)
😂yes I remember the tv you had to get up and change the channel then to a remote! Fun times and we had like 3 channels. Boy have we changed. Started my channel Dec 2023 🎉 lets do this 🔥🙌🏻
I used the DJI wireless mic... link is below in my description. I attached it to my shirt UNDER my hoodie, about 6" down from my chin. It has no trouble picking up the audio through the sweatshirt... in fact that likely helps cut out any wind noise :-)
Hey neighbour! What mic are you using in this? Sounds even better than usual! P.S. I have a similar hat i wear to work at the airport. I get some 'interesting' looks to say the least lol. Phooey on them I say!
I'm at the age where I really don't care what people think about the way I look or what I wear :-) It's liberating in a way!! The mic I use is the DJI wireless mic and it's under my sweater... so there's lots of "wind cancelling" layers in place :-) There's a link to the mic below in the description if you want to see it :-)
Great advice as always. Question - You sometimes mention keeping an eye on video analytics to help the channel grow. This is something I find a bit daunting and don't take full advantage of. Have you produced a video on the subject? I know you have your spreadsheet, which we can download, but any help on the basics of analytics would be a great help. Thanks, Gary.
Rob you are really a best explainer, how you take story relate commonly to anyone then a hook which is about your early childhood like it's an interesting to listen to your experiences near to anyone's life 💖🧬 stay connected 👍💞💞
Interesting that if 30 percent are watching YT content on a large TV screen, so that makes doing 4K more relevant today than a few years ago. This is another reason to do 4K instead of just 1080 HD. The other reason is for cropping in.
I’m on it, working daily to build my 🧞♀️ Jeanie Community🧞♀️ and am almost to 500 subbies! I 💜💜💜 the challenge, the journey, and the self discovery! Beautiful snow scene here!! ❄️
Thank you very much, this is a particularly interesting video for me.Yes,life has changed, and so has technology.Life has really become interesting. You Tube appeared and all the hopes for it.😉😂💰Very beautiful nature. You live in a beautiful place. But somehow you are dressed lightly, aren't you cold?I also have the same hat, only I bought it in Paris,on Manmart.Great memories.I was glad to listen to you.All the best and good luck.We had a great chat.📺😀Don't forget to drink hot tea🫖🍵🥧
I think it's a "mind over matter" thing. You just have to realize that people out there watching videos are more concerned about themselves than they are about you (or anyone in videos they're watching). It takes courage to record yourself and post it to UA-cam... but you can do it :-) Try not to worry about what other people think because what they think doesn't matter... AND usually they aren't too concerned about you anyways... they are strangers and don't know you. I hope that helps! Good luck with it :-)
@RobtheMaritimer thank you so much for the encouraging words! I don't have a problem talking to the camera but I'm so overwhelmed by all the other things that need to be done. For example, thumbnails, editing, the right titles, seo, etc
People need to stay until the end… it’s the best part!! ❤
I'm glad you liked that... something a little different ;-)
true

Subbed 🔥 keep going

@ yeah 100% it’s funny, I never thought I would be a content creator but here we are 😳
I was babysitting back in the 70's and I hated it when the parents weren't home by the time the tv went dead. I finally learned to bring a book.
Haha good story! And not a bad thing to have to bring a book too ;-)
Thanks Rob, that comment you made about making videos for future adult versions of your kids resonated with me right away. That’s exactly what my channel is about it.
that is something I think about often... will probably make another dedicated video about it soon :-)
@ my kids are only 4 and 2, so I’m trying to answer questions they might have for me in the future. Getting a head start so to speak. 😝
Hi Rob, very nice talk. I feel a bit nostalgic of that time now 😅 and you’re right. It has changed so much and so fast in the last 25 years… Let’s change our lives!

Aloha Liza! Thank you for the kind words and I would LOVE to visit Maui someday! Cheers :-)
You have a great voice and reminds me of an older pastor on tv. Amazing scenery 😊 we don’t see snow in South Florida.
Wow thank you so much :-) I'm definitely no pastor... and have always hated speaking to large groups of people. I think maybe the scenery helps me ;-)
Thanks!
Thank you so much Steve, I really appreciate that :-)
"If you want it, you can do it! I can't stress that enough" - very powerful words.
Thank you, Rob.
My pleasure :-)
Rob, Yet again you say what I needed to hear today (Van lifer and its wet and miserable out there!)
The scenary, your passion and the ideas were just so on point.
Just fired up my generator so I have enough power to edit today's video late into the night, who know, that next upload could be the ONE....
You're right, it could be fantastic!! Enjoy and good luck :-)

I remember how a walkman baffled my Grandfather but once we showed him how to use it, he loved it. Could never work it but loved it!
Haha that sounds familiar :-)
Here in the UK they played the National Anthem at the end of the day’s programmes! I’m sure my Grandparents stood up out of respect! 😂

It sure is!!
That sounds fun! Keep having fun with it and all the best to you :-)
When you mentioned the fee for not rewinding the video rental I was projected 35 years into the past! Very inspirational video and one of your best yet. Thanks!
I can remember the stress.... "Oh no we forgot to rewind the tapes!! Maybe they won't notice..." lol!!
Sounds like a fun channel! Good luck with it and enjoy! :-)
Great video Rob thank you so much for the view as well those were the simple days I miss them
I hear ya! Good times... good memories :-)
Rob, thanks for the great video and I appreciate your showing us the beauty of the snow? Even though I have mobility issues and would be unable to walk in that snow, your video makes me feel that I'm there with you, huffing and puffing all the way. Thanks again for all you do.
I'm happy to be your virtual walking companion! :-) Thanks for the kind words :)
New Subscriber, New UA-camr. I Always listen until the end. Thank you for the information friend.
Thank you and welcome! Good luck with your new channel! :-)
The hat is SO WARM! I actually don't wear it on a walk if the temperature is above freezing as I'll overheat lol! I'm glad you enjoyed it :-)
Georgious snow! 😍Plus great video, so encouraging! I do remember that, too. Television back then compared to today's streaming, unbelievable change. I remember the signoffs, too. 😝 Going uphill and talking, that is a workout in my world. Great job!
It's definitely a workout!! Thanks for watching, Rose :-)
I am also 56. First we didnt have tv, as kid watched at neighbours house. 😂 At this moment i am watching a lot of youtube, daily, no news on tv anymore. 😊
The times certainly have changed!!
Hello Rob. You're lucky to have such a good daughter. She takes care of you health.
Thanks
I enjoyed listening to you while cooking lunch
Haha thanks! Now I'm hungry lol
I enjoyed it too
Great video again Rob. Such an easy, relaxing no stress watch.
Scenery looks amazing!
Yesssss
Thank you for the kind words :-)
I, too, appreciate Rob's pace, how articulate he is, and the beautiful scenery!!
Thanks Rob!! Love your hat! Your daughter did a good job making it! The snow over there is so beautiful!
I love it too! :-)
Rob, it does help to have a endless amount of subject matter in the form of that glorious scenery. 😎
It sure was a beautiful day for a walk! thank you :-)
I’m a 66 year old woman, too. I will watch your channel. Go for it!
I enjoyed your history talk. Thank you. You are a good teacher and friend.
Thank you so much for the kind words :-)
Thanks Rob🎉
Thank you for the details!
I’ve been putting off joining UA-cam Premium, I think now is the time. Thanks for the push!
Good luck with it and have fun!!
Great content and a great view! A trip down tech lane. We have the same sunglasses. The vertical ice is amazing .
Haha! My glasses are so scratched up... at some point I'll need to replace them. But they do the trick for now :-) Thanks for watching!
Beautiful scenery.
We do live in a time of wonder with technology and all of the opportunities for entrepreneurship! You sure live in a beautiful place.
We certainly do! Thank you and thanks for watching :-)
I remember when I could only watch gardening shows on saturdays! Now I can watch them all day long❤
Times certainly have changed since then!
Hi! We X generation remember when there was "nothing" well, TV, radio and the phone...and today we get to be in a futuristic sci-fi movie...we are living in the future we thought about in the 1980's ...stuff is still missing, but we are getting there... Loved you video Rob! Keep them coming😊!
Well said! Thanks for watching :-)
Love watching your videos, me being an outdoor gal. My goodness…the lay of the land there. Absolutely amazing. 😍Oh and I enjoy listening too. Great video…I “see” where you going. 😉
Thanks Carlotta! I enjoy making these so will continue to do so :-)
The worst part of growing up in the 70s is the fact that the children were the channel changers!!!
The amount of times my grandma called me from DOWNSTAIRS to change the channel for her!!! 😂
Haha! That's funny :-)
@ My legs didn’t think it was funny at the time. Now my legs AND my knees wish they felt like they did in the 70s 😂
I found this video inspiring. Thank you for taking me along on your walk.
Thanks for joining me ;-)
That gives me some good information regarding the analytics and how to dive into what videos did better than others, etc. I appreciate the advice and information. Take care.
Glad it was helpful! Good luck :-)
@ Thank you, sir.
Oh Memory lane, I was just remembering first jobs.. paper runs, milk runs, strawberry picking.. Thanks Rob✌️
My pleasure! :-)
I like your words at 18.20 secs in. very encouraging. It's been a whirlwind in time from 1980s - It's time to really get a better civilisation for all to keep it beautiful
Thank you for watching :-)
Started my channel Dec 2023 🎉 lets do this 🔥🙌🏻
Good luck to you!!
@ thank you😍
Thanks you so much for this video! I’m going to start a Chanel. Inspired 🤩
Good for you Sandra, good luck and have fun with it!!
We have no cable tv, nor satellite dish… we love UA-cam for almost everything!
There is plenty of entertainment (and education) available on youtube :-)
Yes! CREATE rather than just consuming :)
Absolutely! :-)
Great video, it is like any skill, you have to do it consistently and keep improving, keep building, progress, not perfection.
Well said!!
OMG😅I remember every single thing you talked about, including Pirate Bay etc. I'm 54 - same childhood lol
We've seen a lot of changes :-)
We certainly have. And greetings from Halifax.😊@@RobtheMaritimer
Yes hey ❤❤❤
What mic dou you use? Audio sounds great!
I used the DJI wireless mic... link is below in my description. I attached it to my shirt UNDER my hoodie, about 6" down from my chin. It has no trouble picking up the audio through the sweatshirt... in fact that likely helps cut out any wind noise :-)
Nice greenscreen background you got. 😉 Not much to say, except that I really love your video's. Thanks Rob! 👍
Haha I've never used a green screen in my life lol!! Thank you :-)
@@RobtheMaritimer Well, it looks amazing. 🤩
Loved this one Rob. Tried to send you a few bucks but didn’t seem to go through.
No worries and thank you for watching! Cheers :-)
That brought back a lot of memories.
For me too... it was fun reminiscing :-)
The mic I use is the DJI wireless mic and it's under my sweater... so there's lots of "wind cancelling" layers in place :-) There's a link to the mic below in the description if you want to see it :-)
@@RobtheMaritimerI'm at that same age lol. Ah that's why I didn't see the mic. Well that will be a present to myself when I get monetized. Thanks!
I don’t have a video specifically on this, no… I should make one :) It’s now on my list!
@RobtheMaritimer thanks, I look forward to watching
Rob you are really a best explainer, how you take story relate commonly to anyone then a hook which is about your early childhood like it's an interesting to listen to your experiences near to anyone's life 💖🧬 stay connected 👍💞💞
Thank you... glad you enjoyed it :-)
Nova Scotia is beautiful. Looks pretty cold.
It wasn't too bad... we don't usually get much more snow than that :-)
The combination of your relaxing voice and the background scenery gives you an unfair advantage. 😂 Just kidding. Another great video. 👍🏽
Haha thank you so much for the kind words ;-) Cheers!!
Nice hat. Looks warm too.
It's VERY warm!! And I love it :-)
It's true
Canada is metric? Every day's a school day! Best wishes from the UK.
Canada went metric back in the 1970s... but a lot of us "speak both languages" lol
What mic are you using that sounds that good under your sweater?
I'm using the DJI wireless mic... I have a link to it in the description below. I love it and use it whenever I record outside :-)
MTV miss that
BTW new friend here 😄🤣 just subbed to hear more about life 🧬💞
I remember blockbuster, those were the days
What is the name of video editing software?
I use Camtasia to edit my videos but other good choices are Davinci Resolve, iMovie, CapCut :-)
Interesting that if 30 percent are watching YT content on a large TV screen, so that makes doing 4K more relevant today than a few years ago. This is another reason to do 4K instead of just 1080 HD. The other reason is for cropping in.
That's exactly right... that's why I make all my videos in 4K. And yes, cropping in is a good reason too :-)
Lk 248~ very nice opening 🎉
I’m on it, working daily to build my 🧞♀️ Jeanie Community🧞♀️ and am almost to 500 subbies! I 💜💜💜 the challenge, the journey, and the self discovery!
Beautiful snow scene here!! ❄️
You're doing great! Keep it up and have fun :-)
Nice guy.
❤❤❤😊 wow!
Love the hat
Me too! :-)
Nobody in our house watches broadcast, or cable, TV. All on line. I have a once a year exception. I watch the broadcast of the Super Bowl. That's it.
I had two other shirts on under my sweater... wasn't cold at all. Plus I just walked up that hill so i was exercising to keep warm ;)
@RobtheMaritimer well then I'm calm😉
What do you do if you're scared and you don't know what you're doing? I've got ADHD overwhelm 😢
Small UA-camrs here 👋
Here. Just subbed.. waiting
@ Appreciate that! Let’s run it up!
Growing UA-camrs I am ready let's grow together 🥰
