  • The Tunguska region offers material for many researchers. Already in the early years, after the inexplicable events in the Tunguska region, researchers have dealt with the area. And even today, there are still expeditions into the theory-ridden area.
At 7:14 am on 30 June 1908, the largest explosion recorded in human history to date reverberated throughout our planet. The force of the explosion was two thousand times that of the Hiroshima bomb. A woodland area the size of Luxembourg was eradicated in the Siberian taiga. This incident is recorded in history books as the Tunguska catastrophe. To this day, internationally renowned scientists of various disciplines argue about the causes of this disastrous explosion. The documentary discusses the latest and most controversial insights of these leading scientists. It identifies the reasons why Tunguska has evolved into a phenomenon and points out the curious results produced by this mythical event in culture and economy.

It was the really big ice comet with high concentration of gases (hydrogen or helium) which exploded above the ground, it explains why there are no traces of extraterrestrial rocks nor minerals, and almost every other phenomenon in connection with this event.

Exactly, I don't know why they're calling it a mystery at all. There were witnesses in 1908 who saw the bolide streaking across the sky. Based on its point of origin and angle of entry it was probably part of the Taurid meteor stream, which is the orbital remnants of the very large comet Encke which began breaking up tens of thousands of years ago. The earth passes through the Taurid stream twice each year. From late October through early November the stream enters Earth's atmosphere on the night side of the planet, and from late June through early July the stream is encountered on the daylight side of the earth.

The Tunguska event happened to be on the same day Nikola Tesla was running test on scalar waves at the Wardenclyffe tower on Long Island. Many Tesla enthusiast have wondered if there was a connection.
