As a language professor, I add that; that one can learn sentences even paragraphs before learning what the actual word means. Actually, learning phrases before individual words is more common.
Does this relates to the "States" we can experience, before arriving to the "Stage" related to the State (where we can stay constantly in the same state ?) With other words, we can try to "talk" by saying sentences, even before we really know how to speak and the real meaning of our words ?
Is this because the brain is a pattern recognition system that filters out specific details in order to see more importantly how they relate or relationships instead? One other thing, insecurities dominate many psyches, and the fear of the unknown causes assumptions to replace the unknown. The mind clutches and attaches, it's nature is to grasp, but even science and language are limited before the inability to know or understand anything. Just because we call it electricity or apple doesn't mean we know electricity or taste apple. Language is extremely limited, the ability to know by words is a fallacy and falls short of truth, no one can know how you feel around someone you love, and those who Know are silent.

They puzzle over how someone like David Koresh (Waco TX debacle) could turn out so psychotic and harmful after experiencing mystical states, whereas it was obvious that he was in a very immature (egotistical) "stage" of psychological/spiritual development. Brought up good points, however the stages and ages is simply a model. You forget to included a master that passes on the guiding principles, wisdom and love. Otherwise its just puff words with no meaning. Often awakened people have tremendous karma in their life as their lives are one challenge after another. Without the wisdom to discern the truth, higher consciousness is simply nearly impossible for any one living on this planet. As Krishna said. First establish yourself in yoga, if not the spiritual path is very limited and capped. To maintain the most enlightened stage requires knowledge discipline and training. Masters don't just pop up, their focused mindset and practice and experience leads them. To access higher consciousness, there is a direct unbroken link passed on from master to student. All throughout history, 99% have had some kind of wisdom of the ancients passed on at some point in their life, guided by a master ( Tao) or guru. Its well demonstrated as an example in the book, the actual book not the movie > peaceful warrior. Peace and love to everyone that is trying to find balance walking this spiritual path.
There's only two states. don't fall for this earning stages bs. you are either enlightened or not. it can happen quickly or can take years that's up to you. Question: if you don't know what enlightenment is then how do you know that you want it? And if you're asking how to attain it then you don't have it or know what it is. And people that try to teach it to you have stolen your watch and are trying to sell it back to you.
i think the message of this video is that we already are "enlightened", that it is natural for us all thats why we can experience it at anytime. Just have to fully surrender to it and not get attached to this 3D experience only, food money and sex.
I think we should honestly admit that as a western spiritual seekers we didn't even achieve the 4th stage of surrender, we are still mentally unstable with a bunch of unhealed traumas, we have a lot of physical and psychological attachments and are emotionally weak, yet we can easily call ourselves "enlightened" or "awakened", which is obviously ego's way of compensating inner spiritual immaturity
Yeah,i was thinking on that...the 4th stage,I'm like wavering, i know it's there but still I'm trying to surrender, but again, i know it's there the truth, i can feel it,and more and more each day. It needs time,patience, no judgment, nothing, just one,step at a time. It's like a baby forming inside the womb...you can't force that,you know it is but still can speed the arrival to the world. I remember being about 10 years old and I was hiking through a swamp with my dad. We came upon a meadow and the sun was shining and the dew was rising up. There were flowers everywhere and so many vivid colors. This was the very first time that I can remember admiring something for it's beauty. It's such a clear memory and it was like something switched on inside of the mind. I guess this would have been in the second stage of life. I was just saying that I remembered the moment that I believe I entered the second stage, and it was very special to me because of the entire circumstances. Mostly being out with my dad. If you are watching this video, try this: Dont rush. Do loving kindness meditation a few times to soften the mind. Do body scan meditations to anchor yourself. Take 3 deep breaths. Do it many times a day. See if you can catch the space between one thought and another. At some point you will snap in and out of pretty pure states frequently. Meditation is pretty simple. Not easy, but all you really need to do is to be still. If you are completely still and alert, you will see it. I dont claim to be enlightened but I am pretty sure that I have experienced glimpses of even the 7th stage. It is such a pure state. No drug and nothing you ever achieve can compare. It feels absolutely important to become truly self aware.
I've been practicing meditation for many years now and can easily get into a state of complete silence, yet even in that state of mind, I do not feel anything out of the ordinary except for a moment of deep relaxation. I do not feel this "magic" as described in between two thoughts. What am I doing wrong?
@@jimviau327 There is no "magic" to it. Let go of every expectation. Having expectations ruins your chances. The most successful meditators are those who have a "careless" attitude. You mention that you are doing it wrong. Your doing is key. The fact that you are trying is your mistake. The "catching the space" between two thoughts is a pointer. The words doesnt mean anything unless you can experience it. You are not actually waiting for anything to happen. You are not looking for anything at all. If you stop looking, you will see it.
I got absorbed into the 7th state serendipitously, while contemplating upon a concept of taxonomy n biological classification of flora...and the complexity of nodal positioning of plant appendages...in a single biome..possibly having thousands of species of plants... the topography of a forest is still perefctly aligned to catch maximum sunlight for photosynthesis....🙏🙏 I got tranaported into the centre of the sun itself...n i then remained in that pure dazzling brillant light, equal to a billion suns blazing with full power.. didnt feel the heat, nor did the light hurt my eyes...... i stayed in that bliss for more than 8 hours or sore... ... then wgen i returned to a mild semblance of normalcy, i coudnt even feel my feet on the ground till the next day.. was completely speechless for about 8 hours post that OBE.. as i now call it... At that time i didnt know or identify what i was experiencing or had experienced till that experience itself drew me to Yoga, ...Aurobindo Ghosh's Savitri..🙏🕉💐🙏🕉☮💖

What makes humans special? I can't imagine a bee reaching more than the first stage. Is enlightenment related to intelligence and therefore to our particular avatars in life? Is there anything else we are missing if we had a more powerful mind? Could it be possible that in a far away planet there's some lifeform reaching some levels of consciousness we can't even imaging? Great questions!! Do not think if it as special, because that is very wrong. Is a 3rd grader more special than a 2nd grader? No, of course not. In the same respect, a human is not more special than the bee. What makes us DIFFERENT is simply that we are self aware. We have thoughts and know that we are human. Bees run purely on instinct and serve their queen via this instinct. They do not possess self awareness. The rock is the 1st grader who just… is. It does not have self awareness OR instinct. It also plays an EQUALLY important role. And what is next for us humans? 4th density of course. Then 5th, and so on. It has been said that masters such as the Christ and the Buddha were 4th-5th density beings that came here to help us move up the ladder (ascension). Are they better or more important? No more important than a 5th grader is when compared to the third grader. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t highly regarded for their tutorship!! Just like a student should highly regard their teacher. This is Oneness, rather than ego. We all serve an important role, and all are from One God. When we do reach the ultimate, we will re-merge with One, and then do it alllll over again. Because infinity doesn’t end. It just keeps expanding. And hence the birth of a new universe 😊
Ps yes there are higher forms of life in other planets. Sometimes they visit us. But there are also higher forms that are malevolent. Just because a being is advanced doesn’t make it angelic. Using the above sample, being a human doesn’t make us more righteous than the bee. And the bee that stings isn’t more righteous than the rock that is. That is dictated by the path you select. The path of Light or Darkness. But we cannot even choose that until we reach human form. Because this is where we become self aware and not pure instinctual creatures.
When you reach a certain level, you become a witness of creation, you no longer get involved in this evolution. There is no light in the upper level. You have to create it. You can't take anything from here.
To give some context about the 7th stage, it's much rarer than one could think. Sri Anandamayi Ma, Adi Da Samraj and Sri Guru Babaji are one of the few that are stablished in the 7th stage. Being Sri Anandamayi Ma the rarest of the rarest as such state and stage were constant since his birth till her dead.

Amazing video, thanks for compiling this information. There are many cases when people took dmt/lsd/shrooms and came in touch with a higher stage of consciousness. However, like this video mentions, since their state did not allow that expansion of consciousness, they were not able to sustain it and some even got affected with psychosis. The eastern Sages studied Moksha and Nirvana since ages, which imo is the most important thing to be learned by an individual. Yet today we live in a society which has left very little room for spiritual discovery.

I cannot fathom that!! I had a spontaneous OBE once and my body vibrated almost violently for a week afterwards and this was 10 years ago. The internet was there but I couldn’t find any explanation for what happened to me. That was insanely frustrated and I only experienced a hair of what you did!
The ego is the mind which in ignorance of the truth divides what is perfect and whole into separation and good vs evil. A mind unaware of its creative power through perception bringing forth that which it gazes upon.
I have experienced the 6th ego death spontaneously as a state. Nothing died because ego is false and I really enjoyed being aware of the illusion the mind creates. Though I know the ego is false I don't fully understand the connection I realized at that time.
Fun story, with a neat development structure taking consciousness from one stage to another in a nice orderly fashion. This is the story told by the intellect (prospective). There's yet other stories without sequential (time/space) boundaries. One such story is that without a time/space prospective. Every stage/state is available right now in this very location, here and now, for short and simultaneously. These basic model principles (here/now/simultaneous) fall beyond the intellect. It is resonant frequency that determines the next step in development. And sometimes its a short exploration, epiphany. Or a sustainable shift into a new state on consciousness, depending on the strength of the nervous system. Not as orderly as your model but rather an organic development and therefore more of a true depiction of consciousness development. I will give you credit for the inclusion principle, integration. If one is truly interested in full enlightenment then everything must be included and valued equally. And that Wholeness cannot be fully explained. Not even by the Einstein of Consciousness. BTW, Nothingness holds and major role in Wholeness. You did mention it in passing but its significance is highly underrated. Something-ness is something because of No-thing-ness. Equal billing at the lease.
Levels of siddha: 1)You first reach the transcendental platform which is when the bliss of the self manifests and is felt by the individual for the first time. Or in other words attaining of the eternal samadhi. 2) To be eternal fixed in your samadhi basically you are always in the self 24/7. You also attain atma tattva and maya tattva. Also supernatural phenomenon happens here. 3) giving up all materials bodies (gross and subtle bodies) These levels matter on the type of yoga. In bhakti yoga they are 2 type of siddhas, in jhana thy are 3, and to those who do dhyana yoga thy basically forces on siddhis that give them mastery over the gross and subtle bodies but they are not really siddha cause they dont have any eternal samadhi.
"Self-proclaimed"?! All enlightenment master is self-proclaimed because nobody else can observe it and recognize it! Except some clairvoyants! But usually nobody is asking them about it.

That is why proper practice should always emphasize the sensations of the body with less emphasis on the upper chakras. Once well rooted, the upper work will happen spontaneously. There are many stages of Enlightenment. What mentioned was the most basic form of initial steps of Enlightenment. It took many lifetimes to refine the density of Enlightenment. And each being is of different level.

Profound spiritual "states" and insights may also occur in sleep or near (half) sleep stages. I dont mean only dreaming or even just lucid dreaming (as profound as those can be) but other levels of sleep or as one is just entering the initial moments of sleep.

Your spontaneous life experiences from moment to moment in conjunction with meditation and spiritual practice leads to inner peace. I might add that depending upon outside sources is very much the practice of religious folk and spiritual seekers who have not grasped the principle of looking within. To be clear, it's good to read whatever and listen to whomever, but one must always end up looking within.

And can occur at any age. I had ego death once after using shroom. That moment felt more fearful than death. Like death would be easier. I now know, I wasn’t ready spiritually to consume such realization and grasp of high spirituality.

If we can measure our progress toward full enlightenment, then someone should offer a certificate program. Finding a true guru would be so much easier, and more reliable. A spiritual state is an experience to varying degrees of a sense of profound freedom? In that case the realization that one is bound and not free, is not a spiritually realised state. Which is plainly false. It isn't possible to define spirit in such a way; all states that can be measured are manifest, but the spiritual is not defined by what is manifest. Is it? I guess talking like this I will never "earn a spiritual stage" or a certificate either. Must be an unspiritual phase for me... 🐒
I think the point of the video is that the cultivation of stages may be necessary. The point the video was making was that because we are always already free, even the highest states can happen at any time however, for some, and not necessarily for all. One may suddenly experience Moshka out of the blue but if one happens to be a drug addict it may be difficult to maintain or stabilise. Most people do not have the FREE energy and attention to maintain the higher states - which are natural states because their attention is bound usually to money food or sex. One may need to do some STAGES work to MAINTAIN or STABILISE the state NOT to achieve the state. As Dogen said practice IS enlightenment because it is a stabilsation of what is already the case!
meditating accesses silence - stillness- and therefor the formless in yourself expresses itself in your perception. we just need sufficient energy/power of mind supplied by our vital lifeforce energy and a certain aspect of grace from god since were not the controllers of all thats happening. One approach is to analyse the ideas individually; another approach is to ask what the motivation is for speaking in the first place. You see this just falls apart upon consideration, for me. If one happens to be addicted to drugs, then in what sense may one suddenly experience liberation, while remaining addicted? I know what you mean. But you are talking about a feeling of sudden euphoria; not liberation. It's a dopamine spike, which is precisely what drives the mechanics of addiction itself. But I would say, no, Moksha is not dependent upon sudden emotions at all. Why does it matter? Because if one is a "spiritual teacher" who mistakes dopamine for Moksha, or self-righteous certainty of a "spiritual identity" for enlightenment, then that person is a con and a pusher! Which we have seen plenty of times before. There's a lot of difference between the different sects that have ideas and teachings about enlightenment. Even different words for the end state one seeks to reach. In the Gita it's Brahmanirvana, extinction of the self in Brahma (not 'identifying" with Brahma lol). Gautama dropped the idea of Brahma, but kept extinction precisely because of the difference between Brahma the Absolute and Brahma the Egoic Demiurge. Some look for Moksha, Patanjali called it kaivalya. Anyway I don't think the problem is finding the one true path, between these different groups. It's finding our own way to it. And as the Buddha recommended, making a proper investigation first. 🙏

There's nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. With evolving times, we sometimes need approaches that suit modernity. For example, there's a Yoga sutra ashram in India. I don't remember the exact place, but it's one of the last remaining authentic Patanjali Ashram. It's head Swami, stays in a cave with pitch darkness and never comes out. He receives food from his disciples once a day through a hole. How many people can live like that? Yoga sutra's are AMAZING, no doubt. But not everyone can practice as intensely. An enlightenment state is a state of absolute dissolution of the separate self. As you see in the video. It happened randomly to that lady, and because she was not prepared for it, she couldn't handle it. Even Yoga sutras talk about Niyamas and Yamas. Purification of the mind is necessary, with the development of concentration/focus. Also I'm sure you realize the difference between a "Dopamine hit" and "self-dissolution", so i don't need to talk on that.

As a language professor, I add that; that one can learn sentences even paragraphs before learning what the actual word means. Actually, learning phrases before individual words is more common.
Does this relates to the "States" we can experience, before arriving to the "Stage" related to the State (where we can stay constantly in the same state ?)
With other words, we can try to "talk" by saying sentences, even before we really know how to speak and the real meaning of our words ?
Is this because the brain is a pattern recognition system that filters out specific details in order to see more importantly how they relate or relationships instead? One other thing, insecurities dominate many psyches, and the fear of the unknown causes assumptions to replace the unknown. The mind clutches and attaches, it's nature is to grasp, but even science and language are limited before the inability to know or understand anything. Just because we call it electricity or apple doesn't mean we know electricity or taste apple. Language is extremely limited, the ability to know by words is a fallacy and falls short of truth, no one can know how you feel around someone you love, and those who Know are silent.

Brought up good points, however the stages and ages is simply a model. You forget to included a master that passes on the guiding principles, wisdom and love. Otherwise its just puff words with no meaning. Often awakened people have tremendous karma in their life as their lives are one challenge after another. Without the wisdom to discern the truth, higher consciousness is simply nearly impossible for any one living on this planet. As Krishna said. First establish yourself in yoga, if not the spiritual path is very limited and capped. To maintain the most enlightened stage requires knowledge discipline and training. Masters don't just pop up, their focused mindset and practice and experience leads them. To access higher consciousness, there is a direct unbroken link passed on from master to student. All throughout history, 99% have had some kind of wisdom of the ancients passed on at some point in their life, guided by a master ( Tao) or guru. Its well demonstrated as an example in the book, the actual book not the movie > peaceful warrior. Peace and love to everyone that is trying to find balance walking this spiritual path.
There's only two states. don't fall for this earning stages bs. you are either enlightened or not. it can happen quickly or can take years that's up to you. Question: if you don't know what enlightenment is then how do you know that you want it? And if you're asking how to attain it then you don't have it or know what it is. And people that try to teach it to you have stolen your watch and are trying to sell it back to you.

I think we should honestly admit that as a western spiritual seekers we didn't even achieve the 4th stage of surrender, we are still mentally unstable with a bunch of unhealed traumas, we have a lot of physical and psychological attachments and are emotionally weak, yet we can easily call ourselves "enlightened" or "awakened", which is obviously ego's way of compensating inner spiritual immaturity

I remember being about 10 years old and I was hiking through a swamp with my dad. We came upon a meadow and the sun was shining and the dew was rising up. There were flowers everywhere and so many vivid colors. This was the very first time that I can remember admiring something for it's beauty. If you are watching this video, try this: Dont rush. Do loving kindness meditation a few times to soften the mind. Do body scan meditations to anchor yourself. Take 3 deep breaths. Do it many times a day. See if you can catch the space between one thought and another. At some point you will snap in and out of pretty pure states frequently. Meditation is pretty simple. Not easy, but all you really need to do is to be still. If you are completely still and alert, you will see it. I dont claim to be enlightened but I am pretty sure that I have experienced glimpses of even the 7th stage. It is such a pure state. No drug and nothing you ever achieve can compare. It feels absolutely important to become truly self aware.

I've been practicing meditation for many years now and can easily get into a state of complete silence, yet even in that state of mind, I do not feel anything out of the ordinary except for a moment of deep relaxation. I do not feel this "magic" as described in between two thoughts. What am I doing wrong?
@@jimviau327 There is no "magic" to it. Let go of every expectation. Having expectations ruins your chances. The most successful meditators are those who have a "careless" attitude. You mention that you are doing it wrong. Your doing is key. The fact that you are trying is your mistake. The "catching the space" between two thoughts is a pointer. The words doesnt mean anything unless you can experience it. You are not actually waiting for anything to happen. You are not looking for anything at all. If you stop looking, you will see it.
I got absorbed into the 7th state serendipitously, while contemplating upon a concept of taxonomy n biological classification of flora...and the complexity of nodal positioning of plant appendages...in a single biome..possibly having thousands of species of plants... the topography of a forest is still perefctly aligned to catch maximum sunlight for photosynthesis....🙏🙏
I got tranaported into the centre of the sun itself...n i then remained in that pure dazzling brillant light, equal to a billion suns blazing with full power.. didnt feel the heat, nor did the light hurt my eyes...... i stayed in that bliss for more than 8 hours or sore... ... then wgen i returned to a mild semblance of normalcy, i coudnt even feel my feet on the ground till the next day.. was completely speechless for about 8 hours post that OBE.. as i now call it...

Great questions!! Do not think if it as special, because that is very wrong. Is a 3rd grader more special than a 2nd grader? No, of course not. In the same respect, a human is not more special than the bee. What makes us DIFFERENT is simply that we are self aware. We have thoughts and know that we are human. Bees run purely on instinct and serve their queen via this instinct. They do not possess self awareness. The rock is the 1st grader who just… is. It does not have self awareness OR instinct. It also plays an EQUALLY important role. And what is next for us humans? 4th density of course. Then 5th, and so on. It has been said that masters such as the Christ and the Buddha were 4th-5th density beings that came here to help us move up the ladder (ascension). Are they better or more important? No more important than a 5th grader is when compared to the third grader. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t highly regarded for their tutorship!! Just like a student should highly regard their teacher. This is Oneness, rather than ego. We all serve an important role, and all are from One God. When we do reach the ultimate, we will re-merge with One, and then do it alllll over again. Because infinity doesn’t end. It just keeps expanding. And hence the birth of a new universe 😊
Ps yes there are higher forms of life in other planets. Sometimes they visit us. But there are also higher forms that are malevolent. Just because a being is advanced doesn’t make it angelic. Using the above sample, being a human doesn’t make us more righteous than the bee. And the bee that stings isn’t more righteous than the rock that is. That is dictated by the path you select. The path of Light or Darkness. But we cannot even choose that until we reach human form. Because this is where we become self aware and not pure instinctual creatures.

To give some context about the 7th stage, it's much rarer than one could think. Sri Anandamayi Ma, Adi Da Samraj and Sri Guru Babaji are one of the few that are stablished in the 7th stage. Being Sri Anandamayi Ma the rarest of the rarest as such state and stage were constant since his birth till her dead.

Amazing video, thanks for compiling this information. There are many cases when people took dmt/lsd/shrooms and came in touch with a higher stage of consciousness. However, like this video mentions, since their state did not allow that expansion of consciousness, they were not able to sustain it and some even got affected with psychosis. The eastern Sages studied Moksha and Nirvana since ages, which imo is the most important thing to be learned by an individual. Yet today we live in a society which has left very little room for spiritual discovery.

When I was 19, I had a spontaneous Kundalini activation which like Susan, I had zero context for what was happening, it was indescribable horrifying, before the internet was available, I was utterly alone, but I always understood that whatever this was, it was God
I cannot fathom that!! I had a spontaneous OBE once and my body vibrated almost violently for a week afterwards and this was 10 years ago. The internet was there but I couldn’t find any explanation for what happened to me. That was insanely frustrated and I only experienced a hair of what you did!
The ego is the mind which in ignorance of the truth divides what is perfect and whole into separation and good vs evil. A mind unaware of its creative power through perception bringing forth that which it gazes upon.

I have experienced the 6th ego death spontaneously as a state. Nothing died because ego is false and I really enjoyed being aware of the illusion the mind creates. Though I know the ego is false I don't fully understand the connection I realized at that time.

How do you understand it today?
Fun story, with a neat development structure taking consciousness from one stage to another in a nice orderly fashion. This is the story told by the intellect (prospective). There's yet other stories without sequential (time/space) boundaries. One such story is that without a time/space prospective. Every stage/state is available right now in this very location, here and now, for short and simultaneously. These basic model principles (here/now/simultaneous) fall beyond the intellect. It is resonant frequency that determines the next step in development. And sometimes its a short exploration, epiphany. Or a sustainable shift into a new state on consciousness, depending on the strength of the nervous system. Not as orderly as your model but rather an organic development and therefore more of a true depiction of consciousness development.
I will give you credit for the inclusion principle, integration. If one is truly interested in full enlightenment then everything must be included and valued equally. And that Wholeness cannot be fully explained. Not even by the Einstein of Consciousness.
BTW, Nothingness holds and major role in Wholeness. You did mention it in passing but its significance is highly underrated. Something-ness is something because of No-thing-ness. Equal billing at the lease.
Levels of siddha:
1)You first reach the transcendental platform which is when the bliss of the self manifests and is felt by the individual for the first time. Or in other words attaining of the eternal samadhi.
2) To be eternal fixed in your samadhi basically you are always in the self 24/7. You also attain atma tattva and maya tattva. Also supernatural phenomenon happens here.
3) giving up all materials bodies (gross and subtle bodies)
These levels matter on the type of yoga. In bhakti yoga they are 2 type of siddhas, in jhana thy are 3, and to those who do dhyana yoga thy basically forces on siddhis that give them mastery over the gross and subtle bodies but they are not really siddha cause they dont have any eternal samadhi.
"Self-proclaimed"?! All enlightenment master is self-proclaimed because nobody else can observe it and recognize it! Except some clairvoyants! But usually nobody is asking them about it.
Suzanne Segal appeared to have her crown opened and thus in relation with the infinite devine but without an adequately developed root/second chakra. That is why proper practice should always emphasize the sensations of the body with less emphasis on the upper chakras. Once well rooted, the upper work will happen spontaneously. I "like" esoteric theoretics claim that enlightenment is reachable by "no work" which is far far away from the Truth and reality...

But specifically about the fourth stage He says that the process of it is self-surrender to the Divine. Purification or out-growing of the bodily based point of view. No, enlightenment aka 7th stage is that infinity and finity are one, its the stage of no stages, you can never reach it becasue you were never unenlightened. It is only the character that progresses, which is an illusion, you already are your true self you can't become it lol.

There are many stages of Enlightenment. What mentioned was the most basic form of initial steps of Enlightenment. It took many lifetimes to refine the density of Enlightenment. And each being is of different level.

Profound spiritual "states" and insights may also occur in sleep or near (half) sleep stages. I dont mean only dreaming or even just lucid dreaming (as profound as those can be) but other levels of sleep or as one is just entering the initial moments of sleep.

I can appreciate your diligence, but I must say this. The spiritual process is an inward one. No people are necessary, nor are any retreats. Your spontaneous life experiences from moment to moment in conjunction with meditation and spiritual practice leads to inner peace.
I might add that depending upon outside sources is very much the practice of religious folk and spiritual seekers who have not grasped the principle of looking within.
To be clear, it's good to read whatever and listen to whomever, but one must always end up looking within.

I am a devotee of Avatar Adi Da Samraj and would like to clarify something that is not mentioned in this video. Firstly, the pictures of humans in the seven stages is a little misleading because the 4th to the 7th stages are not defined by age. They do not automatically occur because of age. And can occur at any age. Secondly, Adi Da defines the 7th stage as the foundation stage of the Way that He teaches - it is not achieved by "progressing" through the first six stages of life as though on a great seeking path of return. He defines the seventh stage of life in the Way that He has Revealed in the Aletheon: " The seventh stage of life is the Divine Self-Demonstration of Reality Itself. The seventh stage of life is not "seventh" in the sense of "following" the first six. The seventh stage of life Is BEYOND AND PRIIOR to the first six stages of life. The seventh stage of life has nothing to do with "stages" of life. The seventh stage of life Is simply the Perfect Self-Demonstration of the Divine Reality, the Truth of the Divine Reality-Revelation." Profound spiritual experiences, and subsequent spiritual evolution/development, can also be reached with psychedelics, don't disregard them as drugs, as it's medicine, unless you want to disregard millenia of tribal practices where these medicine were used in initiation rituals, very many of which meant to introduce the "user" into adulthood.
I had ego death once after using shroom. That moment felt more fearful than death. Like death would be easier. I now know, I wasn’t ready spiritually to consume such realization and grasp of high spirituality.

If we can measure our progress toward full enlightenment, then someone should offer a certificate program. Finding a true guru would be so much easier, and more reliable.
A spiritual state is an experience to varying degrees of a sense of profound freedom? In that case the realization that one is bound and not free, is not a spiritually realised state. Which is plainly false. It isn't possible to define spirit in such a way; all states that can be measured are manifest, but the spiritual is not defined by what is manifest. Is it?

I think the point of the video is that the cultivation of stages may be necessary. The point the video was making
was that because we are always already free, even the highest states can happen at any time
however, for some, and not necessarily for all.
One may suddenly experience Moshka out of the blue
but if one happens to be a drug addict it may be difficult to maintain or stabilise.
Most people do not have the FREE energy and attention to maintain the higher states - which are natural states
because their attention is bound usually to money food or sex.
One may need to do some STAGES work to MAINTAIN or STABILISE
the state NOT to achieve the state.
As Dogen said practice IS enlightenment

meditating accesses silence - stillness- and therefor the formless in yourself expresses itself in your perception. we just need sufficient energy/power of mind supplied by our vital lifeforce energy and a certain aspect of grace from god since were not the controllers of all thats happening. @@karmapeople1735 It just seems that anyone and everyone can develop a framework like this, and the structure of the teachings have a personal and cultural context that lead to idiosyncratic differences which can be endlessly debated. To no actual end in any agreed upon consensus. It's simply a devolution into rival factions.
But that is the description of a marketplace, and that is what I am reacting to. One approach is to analyse the ideas individually; another approach is to ask what the motivation is for speaking in the first place. For example: is anyone going to be enlightened, fully or otherwise, by listening to Ken Wilber or following these stages? Maybe? I mean, that would be great.

You see this just falls apart upon consideration, for me. If one happens to be addicted to drugs, then in what sense may one suddenly experience liberation, while remaining addicted?
I know what you mean. But you are talking about a feeling of sudden euphoria; not liberation. It's a dopamine spike, which is precisely what drives the mechanics of addiction itself.
But I would say, no, Moksha is not dependent upon sudden emotions at all. Why does it matter? Because if one is a "spiritual teacher" who mistakes dopamine for Moksha, or self-righteous certainty of a "spiritual identity" for enlightenment, then that person is a con and a pusher! Which we have seen plenty of times before.
There's a lot of difference between the different sects that have ideas and teachings about enlightenment. Even different words for the end state one seeks to reach. In the Gita it's Brahmanirvana, extinction of the self in Brahma (not 'identifying" with Brahma lol). Gautama dropped the idea of Brahma, but kept extinction precisely because of the difference between Brahma the Absolute and Brahma the Egoic Demiurge.
Some look for Moksha, Patanjali called it kaivalya.
Anyway I don't think the problem is finding the one true path, between these different groups. It's finding our own way to it. And as the Buddha recommended, making a proper investigation first.

There's nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. With evolving times, we sometimes need approaches that suit modernity.
For example, there's a Yoga sutra ashram in India. I don't remember the exact place, but it's one of the last remaining authentic Patanjali Ashram. It's head Swami, stays in a cave with pitch darkness and never comes out. He receives food from his disciples once a day through a hole.
How many people can live like that?
Yoga sutra's are AMAZING, no doubt. But not everyone can practice as intensely.
An enlightenment state is a state of absolute dissolution of the separate self. As you see in the video. It happened randomly to that lady, and because she was not prepared for it, she couldn't handle it.
Even Yoga sutras talk about Niyamas and Yamas. Purification of the mind is necessary, with the development of concentration/focus.
Also I'm sure you realize the difference between a "Dopamine hit" and "self-dissolution", so i don't need to talk on that.
