People who only care about the financial benefits of being a foster home do it. People who really care about those they foster usually are hard pressed to let those in their care go. My best friend is a foster parent. He cries every time a kid leaves his care.

@@esmekaffen4961 It does happen that adoptions break down, I've heard about it more than once... but this was absolutely awful, it must have been crushing for the child. I wonder if he understood what was about to happen on the drive there, I wonder if those people at least explained, apologised...?

My son and I met when he was almost 2 and both of us knew with in 4 days we were meant to be together. I moved heaven and earth to make us a family - almost 3 years later, it was official.

What kind of people make a commitment to a child and then give back same said child?! I'm so glad these two found eachother!
As an adoptee myself, this story lets me know that there are actually good foster homes and adoptive parents out there. This young man is very fortunate and you can tell he is grateful and humbled.
I'm glad that kid found someone to love him and that he had the kind of heart that was able to stay open after so much rejection in his life. Being adopted, even under the best circumstances, can leave a lot of kids with feelings of abandonment, and then to be very much abandoned by your adoptive parents at eleven years old must be heartbreaking.
This gentleman was helped and treated with kindness when he was young, then paid it forward as an adult. This story reminds me to try to treat everyone with kindness because it creates the ripple effect.

As an ex-foster child this made me cry both tears of joy and sadness. I’m so happy he found his forever home but it also reminded me how my mother sabotaged my adoption and changed her mind even though she continued to have very little contact with me until adulthood. Idk what the circumstances were with his adoptive parents doing a safe haven drop but I hope karma gets them good. What a disgusting thing to do to a child that’s was already unwanted and abandoned. Fk them and never think about those people ever again! Congratulations ❤

How wonderful for both of them. What sort of parents, even adoptive ones, dumps their child and signs away their parental rights? What an unforgivable cruelty to a child of any age. The young man is so much better off without them, and finding his forever dad, who truly loves him.
It is sad how they left him at the hospital and then we have people like Mr. Peter to make it all better.

I know people are crapping on the adoptive parents who dropped him off... But for me, that's the best they could have done for this child. It could have turned out so much worse. They did the right thing with whatever the circumstances were. If they didn't drop this young man off at the hospital, Mr. Peter would have never known about this child.
