    Great playthrough, really shows how things can change depending on the dice. Intense moment at the end with the combo to take out the beast that didnt pan out. Very enjoyable.

    37:46 That is correct. It is a binomial distribution with Expected Value of np, where n = # of dice rolled and p = probability of rolling a hit.
    Therefore, E(X) = n*p = 3 dice * (1/3 probability of rolling a hit per die) = 1 hit expected :-) ! I love discrete probability and applying it to game situations.

    Thank you for a great play through. This looks like a solid game and gets me off the fence. Now i just have to decide if it would get enough plays to be worth pledging. :)

      It could be that game where someone is good at playing game tactically ND knows how to win, and win again, and again and always will be the best of the game. If i lost to such a player 3-5 times in a row i doubt i would have the patience to learn better tactics to beat them next time.
      In saying that, if this was a six or eight player game I think it would be awesome. In a real three player game I can see a few fights breaking out in my family.

    Wow I am so glad I got rid of arcadia quest. Seeing how easy this game is compared to that makes me understand why arcadia quest doesnt work. It also looks like an overwhelming pile of tokens when set up. Backed this project.

    I still don't have my copy yet, but at 1:01:10 you called your turn and draw "Rally the Troops" Tactic Card and activated it, which is fine, because you can reveal a card when you draw it if you fulfill the requirements (I believe its in the rules), but then you decided to move Ava when you already called off your turn, and if you move your unit before drawing the tactic card, you wouldn't fulfill the requirement of "Rally the Troops" Tactic Card to have all allies on a control zone, so the game either would have gone a bit more or would have a 3 way tie because Ava can't move to the village.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 роки тому +1

      "Rally the Troops" was a tactic card they already had in their hand, they didn't draw it at that point of their turn.

    At 59:11 Umog takes 3 damage but goes from 9 HP to 5, taking actually 4 damage.
    Great playthrough as always, this game does indeed look like a simplified AQ but I think it falls completely on the other end of the spectrum, being too simplistic and without much replayability and discovery between plays, I'd still like if there was some kind of middle ground between this and AQ.

    • @JonGetsGames

    At 27:30 why didn't you counter attack with Arryn, even at the cost of the 2 health, knowing that it was blues last action and you would be acting next? Wouldn't it have made sense to counter attack and then use a move on the next turn, doing effectively exactly what you did but getting an attack out of it?

    at 43:40 would safiri be 4 spaces away, since the elevation changes twice?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  5 років тому +3

      The -1 range penalty for shooting at someone above you only happens once, regardless of how many steps up they are from where you are at. So essentially it takes 1 more range to hit any character who is above you.

    26:56 how should we count the area effect range from a unit with a special abillity to allies or enemies who are occupie a different elevation level? Is there a 2 range from Uhl'Richt to Jolene or we should count the distance from Jolene to Uhl'Richt (3 range). The same question with the Prince Orm (other wizard unit not shown in this video)

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  5 років тому +1

      The version of the rules I have says "The range for area effects are treated like missile attacks" so I believe you'd have to count a single penalty or bonus depending on if the area spread up or down elevation.

    32:17 Aha... So is it correct that all you have to do on your turn is move past a village in order to benefit from it? I would have thought that you would’ve needed to end your turn on a village square in order to refresh a character’s health & ammo points. Thanks.

    At 38:00 you used a tactic card that says you can use a free Ranged attack, but you used it with the mage? Doesn`t she use spell attacks? I think you stated spells and ranged attacks as two different actions?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 роки тому

      Hmm, this is a good question actually. I can see why you'd think this is wrong, but I also feel like that really pigeonholes that tactic card in a way that may not be intended. This was a prototype, so it's possible this has been smoothed out.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  5 років тому +2

      I can't speak from experience because this video was my only full play of the game, but I think that overall much of the replayability will come from the variety of heroes you can pick from and how their abilities can combo together.
