I have a wall that it would look great on. Bind in black and let the fabric show with all its glory.

Using the print with Chinese characters for the binding would be beautiful!

What beautiful fabric, I would back it & have as a wall hanging on a brass rod with red binding to match. ❤

Hello Katrina I think a quilt or a throw would be lovely with that beautiful material and a dark backing and deep red binding. Thank you for sharing this video with us xx

Sending thanks for sharing this excellent video tute, from sunny Santa Cruz, California. 🐬 Will use this method for some feature fabrics in my stash. Love the suggestions to use a lighter gold or that beautiful shade of pale green in the fabric for binding… “as always, make it your own” Katrina and we are sure it will be just lovely. 😊 Can’t wait to see it finished! ❤

Hi Katrina! The Asian print fabric is beautiful! My vote for finishing your quilt would be to fleece the back and use a dark binding. Thank you for this informative tutorial.

Thank you Katrina. I’ve always wondered where to put the border on first and then add the strips with the cornerstones - it’s almost like what came first? The chicken or the egg 😊?

Hi, lovely to see you. I vote for a quilt. It would look lovely over a sofa as decor and something to cuddle with. I bought a beautiful feature fabric of swans and now you have given me a great idea.

Thanks Katrina….the feature fabric you used for the demonstration is very pretty. Personally, I would put a black backing on the one you have hanging up and make it into a quilt…but any of the suggestions you made would be equally as good. Thanks again…Dottie x

thank you Katrina for another great tutorial. I have just finished a baby quilt top using the D for dream fabric, for my new Gran-daughter due soon..... have flannel for the back, all purchased from your store, need to get round to quilting it. Love shopping in your shop. I would make the Japanese one into a quilt with flannel or fleece with a black or red binding.

Hi Katrina, I have had that Japanese fabric for quite some time and have been looking for a project to do it justice. I look forward to reading all the comments and getting inspiration for my quilt/tablecloth/wall hanging or whatever I decide to do. Thank you so much for all your advice and ideas. 😊

🙏 A light golden binding will brighten the darker fabrics. If it’s used as an ornamental fabric showcase I’d just back it with a silk like fabric. If used as a lap quilt I’d place a layer of thin batting with perhaps a flannel backing.🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi Katrina, I so enjoy your tutorials. Great instructions.
I will put my cornerstones on exactly like you showed us.
You make all your sewing projects look so easy.
My thoughts for the Asian, or Japanese girls quilt are; put a pop of green on for the binding, or cornerstones.
I know it's not been mentioned, & may be a bit different. But I like to make the least noticed colors show up a bit more to balance the colors out. Sometimes too much matchy, matchy fabrics makes the whole project more blended, less rememberable, or similar to others. But in some projects, that blended matchy, matchy look work's great.
It's just that those girls are popping out with the beautiful red, and making that little bit of green, that's already there, less noticable some.
Maybe green on the back. How about some sort of plant leaves, 🌿 Bonsai trees, 🎋 or Bamboo shoots, & stock's.
Well, make it your's by doing what suits your fancy for sure, I always do 😂 🧧🫖🥠🥡🎎🎐🎏 🏵️🐉🌼💮🌸🌺🐲

Do you add half inches to side borders before adding the corner stones?
