Arya’s quick thinking and Tywin’s sharp mind
true
They woulda made one helluva duo under different circumstances.
Да бе брато
Да бе брато
I honestly think that he knew who she was, or at least was on to who she was. He wasn't stupid, or a total POS.
Although short-lived, this was one of my favorite character dynamics in GoT
Fr
In books, Arya meets Roose Bolton instead of Tywin.
@@sasankm4383Very glad we got tywin instead
I also love Charles Dance's work on Dracula: Untold. The movie was quite underrated.
@sasankm4383 Yeah, having just read the books, the shows adaptation is 100% better, though.
I love how she purposely says "proper" then fake corrects herself to seem realistic... Only for Tywin to call her out on that too, but compliment her at the same time. God, they had some of the best scenes. 🔥
yep
Still don't get it, which one is supposed to be more high class? Proper or properly?
@@Skiriwowiproperly is more “high class”
I think she meant speaking proper like proper way of talking properly
A bit unrealistic but they were good scenes.
Every time I see her talking with him, I always had the feeling he knew who she was. He just liked having her around.
Could be it... Anyway *SUBSCRIBE*
I thought the same thing.
Right 😂😂😂
Maybe he figured it was better to keep Ayra Stark at Harrenhall than send her to the idiot king Joeffery. He pretended to believe her story so that he didn't escape.
@@Elizabeth-hc3miNow that makes sense.🎉
Why no one is talking about the naked arya on the miniature of the video? 😂😂😂😂😂
I was just here for the thumbnail
I haven't even seen the show and came for the thumbnail
We’re doing what we did when we first saw it, trying to forget and suppress that frightening memory
We tend to not acknowledge that
I looked at the thumbnail then the title and thought "uh wait a minute". I thought it was gonna be a cursed edit.
I think Tywin genuinely liked Arya.
Yep 😊
The daughter he wanted
Game recognize game.
Except he didn't know her as Arya. Good thing.
@@profx23 Makes me wonder what he would have done if he knew. Would he let her go? Or give her to his favorite king nephew lol.
'What killed your father ’
'Loyalty’
😔
That line still hits like a freight train to this day 😕
Tywin and Arya scenes were the best, alongside… the Hound and Arya scenes. Gods the writing was strong then
I know right... Then season 7 and 8 came and ruined it all for us
Damn that pfp and name goes hard
Even with ned stark…
Tywin laughed in that one. He was said to have stopped smiling when his wife passed.
I also like how he says “Mi’Lord” and she just turns around and scrunches up her face in a totally unacceptable way to look at him. Like “Wtf are we doing right now dude?”
she got that attitude
Tywin was like you remind me of my daughter….that I always wanted. The one I have is stupider than she thinks she is. 😂😂😂

@@sabineschmidt6097 nah, she's fairly dumb, but she is a good schemer which makes her believe she's smarter than she is,
Smart people are usually surrounded by idiots so having another smart person around is so joyful.
Typing being rich would be surrounded by yes man, but the irony is his son turion is not only the most wise but also the most moral characters, but for tywin all that disappears whenever he looks at his imp sons face😢
Yes, tell me something.
@@woundedidiot429 Nah, there were few times where he valued the intelligence of his son. But of course there can be characteristics that supersede being intelligent. For example, a genius but is a murderer. In Tywins case it was, a wise person but he is an imp.
These were my absolute favorite interactions. Arya learned valuable lessons from each of her father figures. Tywin unwittingly helped her become a better faceless man
When did you watch the show?
Can you imagine if Tywin had found out who Arya really was in this moment
spicy
Honestly wished he did. She made her as a ransom for jaime
If he did he likely would end the war here. Give Arya back for safe peace talks and negotiate Sansa release maybe even the North. Tywin is in a horrible situation that was only solved by magic, the Tyrell’s seeking revenge and the Freys orchestrating the only thing a noble house simply cannot do.
@@ADreadBellowwhat was the magic and Tyrell’s revenge you were referencing?
@@andydietrich3689Melisandre killing Renly, with her shadow demon baby thing, and the Tyrell’s assassinating Joffrey
I’m just sayin
If Tywin had the hood sense to ally himself with the Starks, they could’ve absolutely been the most dominant force in the seven kingdoms

Meant to put common sense but fuck it we ball
@@unionjakass6589hood sense still makes sense.
Jaime and Ned were probably in the way
Ned would never betray Robert for Tywin
I love the scenes with these two! The old grizzled lion and the young wolf pup bantering:)
I think he enjoyed knowing/suspecting that he had a highborn serving him. She was just biding her time
The interactions with Tywin and Arya are some of my favorite scenes in Game of Thrones. That’s the only time Tywin Lannister smiles in the show.
Part of me can’t help but think he knew exactly who he was talking to and that’s why he said be careful girl
Could be it... anyway *SUBSCRIBE*
If he did he would have made it obvious
He knew she was high born definitely
He knows she isn't who she says she is, and he has probably worked out she's at least a member of a minor noble house from the north. She's smart enough to present a challenge to his intellect, and he's enjoying the game of bluff.
@@DERP_Squad yes that’s what I mean like incorrect Ing her he realized if he hadn’t already put it together, but she was a member of a Noble house. I don’t necessarily believe he knew it was aria but I think he had a sense of respect for her dedication to self preservation and gaining knowledge and he enjoyed, having someone of a higher intellect to talk to I just wonder what it would’ve been like if he actually knew that was really the stark girl
Ironically, by being one of the worst humans imaginable, Tywin Lannister forever cemented himself as one of the best characters in a TV show. Such an unforgettable villain, every scene with him in it was a great one
He enjoys being a father lol
Fr
Con los que no son sus propios hijos jaja 😂😂
What I always loved about this scene is how Aryas response about most girls being stupid and Tywins response of it reminds him of his daughter always got to me that even though Cersei was high up on Aryas kill list they were alike in many ways, just with different upbringings.
Another scene that ties into this is I think in season 3 there is a scene where Cersei and Tywin are talking and Tywin makes the remake of "your not as clever as you think you are".
I like to think that both of these scenes shows that Tywin sees how alike both if them are, but probably suspects that Arya is better at playing the game then Cersei is.
Then again Tywin did ask Arya "has anyone told you your too smart for your own good?" 😂😂
Tywin absolutely suspected Arya was high born, though he may not have been able to determine what house. Arya, meanwhile, can think quicker than most and crafted a lie that answered all of Tywin's questions without raising new ones, leaving Tywin with few strings to pull on.
I always love this scene. It’s unclear whether he fully knew she was Arya Stark. But he clearly knew well enough that she was a highborn girl in hiding. If he did know, clearly, he kept her secret because he admired her. But if he didn’t know, she literally had Arya Stark within his grasp for like a month and let her get away.
One of the things i liked about Tywin is that he always appreciated intelligent and quick witted people, except for Tyrion 😅
Although i also think he appreciated his son's sharp mind too, but was blinded by hatred.
Tywin definately knew who Arya was but capturing the children was never his goal it was his kid's goal. ❤
This shows a VERY important part of Tywins character that way too many overlook. He enjoys and wants intelligence. Thats why he’s harsh on Cersei and Jaime, because they dont meet his expectations for it. Now i doubt Arya meets his full expectations either, but he thinks she’s a dumb lowborn so when he realizes she’s smarter than he initially thought, he begins to enjoy her company.
To any smart person, smart company is exhilirating, its something to grow on. But dumb company does nothing but drain you
True
He also knows she's lying about who she is, but she's doing it well enough that he can't work out who she is. He's enjoying the game of bluff they're playing.
@@DERP_Squad exactly 🙌🏻 but i also think that he doesnt really bother to truly find out since he doesnt think she’s anyone important. Maybe some far-off lords bastard daughter or something
@@DJHumlapretty much what I also believe, he knew Arya was of Some station, but not what station, and enjoyed the company as he probably didn't have many intelligent people to spar with,
The only one that could've measured up to him of his offspring would've been Tyrion whom he despised for what he is
@@Voron_Aggrav which makes the whole «you’ll do no such thing. This one is a girl…you idiot» part just that much better XD

When did you watch the show?
I loved the mind games they played Tywin knew she wasn’t low born he was enjoying the lil game they were playing. He had no idea that was Ned starks daughter though.

My favorite interactions in the show. “Careful now girl” 😂😂
Tywin considering adoption
I would have loved to see Tywin’s face if someone had told him that his cup bearer at Harrenhal was the Arya Stark. Shame we never got that scene
My two favorite dynamics were Tyrion and Jon, and Tywin and Arya. When wolves and lions got along, it made for gripping scenes.
The only thing missing from this was for Tywin to somehow find out down the line that he had Arya with him the whole time 😂😂😂
If only Tywin knew that little girl is Arya Starkk, the girl everyone thought was dead but managed to survive became a faceless and saved everyone 😂
Power of thumbnail...😂😂
I really thought he would figure it out
Yep
He did. Sort of. I mean he didn’t know she was Arya Stark but he knew she was highborn. Tywin didn’t buy any of her excuses.
@@refulgent_fanta and yet he let her go.
They're at war with the north. He also knows Arya is on the run somewhere so he should know it could be her it can be her

I thought it was going to be a fake scene where Tywin replaced Gendry in season 8. Thankful it wasn't
Tywin is one if the most intelligent people in GoT and despite the fact he caught on to some of her lies he couldn't catch unto the counter lies. Arya the most dangerous in GoT even at that point.
You killed the impact of the scene with the music.
I think it enhanced it 🤷🏻

This show shows there is good and bad in everyone. Even though Tywin was a bad person he shows affection to Arya when she resembles his daughter.
True
Honestly wish we had more of these 2 thought there interactions were really interesting and she brought out a side of tywin we usually only saw glimpses of his side of the "I dont hate u and don't think your a stupid monkey" side
I like how Tywin allowed Arya her secrets. I don’t think he bought a single thing she ever said but respected her ability to think on her feet and cover herself.
Whether he knew who she was or not, we may never know. Personally I think he did, but allowed Arya her secrets to feel content enough to not run off. A content prisoner is one you don’t have to go out of your way to contain.
If only that world wasn't full of conflicts and treachery, maybe they both could have been an item.
But then again, without conflicts and treachery, both of them wouldn't be the characters with such strong personalities.
The title and the thumbnail made me question every thing I remembered from the show
😭
They would have been friends in another setting... both have that shape mind. I really wish in the end he found out that she was a stark....that would have been awesome!
He knew she was the daughter of a northern lord but he didn’t know which one. And yet, he never tried to use her.
I enjoyed the interactions between Ayra and Tywin. Made his character more than just the strategical head of the Lanisters
I always wanted for Tywin to learn at some point after she left that the girl he so desperately tried to find had been his cup bearer.
Tywin would have been a good father if he hadn't been so ambitious for the family name.

I think Tywin knew who she was all along. Why hold a person against their will, when they will cling to you for protection freely.
This was one of the few things D&D changed from the books that I thought actually added substance to the story.
no one in the comments seems to know this. I agree with u. And fuck d&d
@@joaquinmunozzumelzu9841 and I agree with you there, they destroyed what could have been so epic.

One of the best written, and acted, scenes in the entire series

Arya n tywin scenes were 1 of the best. Wish we had more of them

Their dynamic was so well done, you are constantly rooting for Arya but you want to like Tywin when you see him not being a power hungry player for the other side
Tywin was such a great character. Cold and calculating, but with a human side.
Their chemistry was amazing. I wish that there were more scenes with both of them in it. She learned some much through a rough path, and she learned by strong Men and Women. If I had a wish and it came true. Id wish for GOT reality to be real. I really do.
Tywin secretly wanted his own daughter to be more like Arya, who was still teachable while also being smart
This show was absolutely amazing at this point
Knowing arya lets him correct her so tywin‘s ego is satisfied shows arya‘s intelligence
Tywin surely was a very smart man
But Arya had the upperhand knowing that before she revised her role
Indeed
I don't think she did that on purpose
@@augustus_lex6126 u sure? Even the faked hiccup on the “proper” -“properly”
Pretty certain it was on purpose
Especially considering the house of dustin lie was set up in the same way
@derechte6086 The mess up was on purpose, but I don't think she intended to get caught on it. I'm also certain that Tywin knew she was lying as well about everything but didn't really see it as important, just interesting.
Tywin knew who she was and didn't say anything because he knew what Cersi would do.
I wish we got to see them play more chess later on in the show. They match wits excellently
This was my favorite dynamic in the entire show
These interactions between arya and tywin are the best..
I want an au where Tywin takes her under his wing fully knowing who she is. I don’t know why or how that would work but I fucking loved the dynamic and I think it would be interesting. (I’ve also only read the first book do not come for me)
There's a fanfic like that, which I think is pretty well written. It's on AO3, and it's called A Wolf Amongst Lions.
If I remember correctly Ms Williams was actually frightened in this scene to work hand and hand with Charles dance… but they pulled out some incredible stuff with the small amount they had together
Lord Tywin could be such a chump, at times...
And this is one of them!
I believe Tywin knows this is Arya but chooses not to say anything. By keeping her close, in his service, she is protected from his men, Cerci, and Joffrey. If he needs a bargaining chip he knows exactly where she is and can insure her safety. His concern is if he lets Arya know he knows who she is, she will try to escape. Of course she does anyway.
Pretty sure twyn knew she was who she was. Hed met her before though in passing.
True
Tywin 100% had no idea she was Arya Stark. Do you really think he wouldn’t immediately try to use her to negotiate his sons release? Cmon now.
I always felt he never said anything because she was what he wanted he own daughter to be Arya was smart and cunning Cersei was playing that part but always revealed she wasn’t as smart as she thought.
Sick thumbnail= sick uploader

@@ShowBits. cause Im a sick watcher
I was biting my nails for this entire episode
The daughter Tywin never had but always dreamt to have
I think he knows who she is but he enjoys the banter with her entirely too much to care her family is the enemy
I love Arya trying to make up a backstory for her fake self like a character creation & Tywin, humouring it, just corrects errors like a good DM
One of the few encounters that made me wish Tywin had some form of redemption
The music is literally torture
The moment tywin finds she is arya stark but trying to save her without knowing to her ❤
Fr
He knew who she was, he was tying to protect when he realized she was still in kingslanding. He knew how joffry would immediately execute her to punish sansa for her dads "traitorous act" to hurt sansa even worse. I dont think any of them would of made it out alive if they hadnt eventually escape
True
This series of scenes between the two of them was the best completely original part of Game of Thrones in my opinion. The best, most memorable addition or change, because Arya and Tywin never cross paths in the books.
This section in the book serves a slightly different purpose, and wouldn’t have adapted well to screen as most of the significant change is in Arya’s own self-perception. It covers large amounts of time but has little dialogue of importance, and she is serving the creepy ass Lord Bolton as his cupbearer but all she learns is how to be someone else so much she almost convinces herself, and how to never spill while she pours wine or she’d get brutally beaten. Not the most compelling stuff for screen.
right
I honestly would of loved to see him take her with him just to keeo this dynamic alive a little longer as Arya obviously couldnt have gone back to kings landing but i feel like we got a small glimpse at a, albeit only slightly, softer tywin
Arya should have been the queen and Twyin the hand !! What a lethal combination it would have been .
I feel like Tywin knew all along, but it was another chess piece he held close.

Arya was like the daughter Tywin wished he had.
Probably the best deviation from the books in the show. Their dynamic was so interesting.
Imagine some far fetched alternative universe where these two somehow managed to stop being enemies god that would have been so cool
Honestly these were the scenes that made me love GoT,aside from the action. Just great actors with amazing scripts to play with.
He finally has found an intelligent person. Not smart, as he said... literally intelligent. Clever even.
I want a whole what if show where Tywin know that she is Arya. Btw he knew she was a great house daughter, and he knew that she is from the north so imo if he didn’t thought that she were already dead, he probably would knew that she was Arya.
I know right 😳
