** Megan, FYI, burning the lumber, if it is pressure treated wood, will give off toxic fumes. Dangerous to breathe for you and your littles. Just food for thought. The yard is looking great. I always enjoy your yard videos. 😊

You will need to add some top soil and grass seed. Grass won't grow there and you'll end up with a mud pit

There is an app on your phone where you take a pic of the plant and it will tell you what it is!
I think it’s called Planta! I didn’t even think of that!
Two things: 1) when dumping remaining plants and dirt in old pots, throw it in a lower area of your yard to help level it and 2) the playset was probably made from treated lumber and should not be burned (it's poisonous) and absolutely no food (marshmellows, etc) should be cooked on it.

Home Depot sells grass sheets. I think they are about 4 feet x 2 feet and really cheap. They come in rolls and you just have to lay them down and water them daily for a few weeks. We did this in Hawaii and California and it was perfect. The seeds a pain, with the birds and mud
Since our grass is so scarce everywhere else, I think that might look kind of strange lol.

Yes, to filming power washing. You and Derek got so much done. My husband would have been hard at work calling someone to do it for him 😂. We both grew up in houses with large backyards, and yard work on the weekends was mandatory. It's funny how when we moved out, our parents hired gardeners. Great video, Megan. You are my favorite ❤
I grew up the same way! I feel like our generation exploits their kids on the internet, but our parents generation was exploiting their kids through child labor. 😵💫 Some tasks are hard for me now because they trigger childhood trauma, but it’s my job so I can’t hire it out. 🥲

To make it easier on you guys I would rent a small dumpster that way you can put all the wood and garbage into it. I just did and it was very cheap for just a few days. Under $100. Love your out door videos and can't wait for more.

You have to seed the sand pit area but make sure you buy seed that's made for shade nice job clearing it all out pretty lady 🥰💓

My husband takes AG1 and when I had COVID last month, he made some up for me, every morning and I swear I got better faster because of all the vitamins. Loved the backyard clean up, very satisfying. 3:05

We used to have one & gave it away because the girls never wanted to use it.
I think because our yard gets so much direct sun that it would heat up to a burning temperature, so it was painful to jump on

I know this took a lot longer than this video. I would be exhausted. Forget about dinner. Get take out. We have a new shed we had to buy when we moved into this house. We downsized and had way too much stuff that wouldn’t fit in this house. But it’s stained and newer. So I hope it lasts a while. It wasn’t cheap. We drive by some houses down here, and people just put stuff on their front porch. It amazes me. And they don’t like to paint their houses. That amazes me too. Ours is sided. And right now it’s filthy. My husband will get out and clean it soon. I do the inside, he does the outside. I think that’s a fair trade.
We need to pressure wash our siding too. It’s amazing how dirty it gets from season to season 😵💫

Looks like mint to me!! I was a bartender for 7 years and we always used fresh mint to make mojitos. The stems were always purple like that! May be a weird citronella hybrid of some sort but it’s definitely not a weed 🫶🏼 love all your videos and excited for the makeover to come!!!

The wood is rotting, so we don’t want to try to repurpose anything. We might do a raised garden on the concrete slab, and an arbor right in front of it.

Great start on the back yard cleanup! It’s so much work. Just be careful about burning that wood. I’m not sure if it’s been treated, stained or painted. The fumes are toxic if so. Love to watch a good power wash 😊

Everything looks great! Always enjoy the outdoor videos 😊 Just make sure it's not green treated wood before burning it. It's an awful smell and unhealthy. Unfortunately, we experienced it.
It’s over 10 years old, so even if it’s treated wood I think all of the treatment has broken down by now.

please do not roast marshmallows if the wood is pressure treated. in fact, don't burn any wood that is pressure treated! otherwise, carry on, lol. looking forward to seeing the finished project
