- Roberts, Falls, and Smith hike their way back to Sturdy and the boys. Once they get there, Fall and Roberts check in with the Captain. They explain what happened and told Sturdy where the outpost was that they were trying to find. Sturdy then gets the news that it just so happens to be that regiment had previously scouted out the outpost with a recon plane, not knowing Roberts and his boys were trying to find it. So now that they have an exact location and they know what they are up against, they plot an attack. They charge the outpost at 0900 in the morning. Americans vs Germans. A shoot out.
This episode was a blast to make and we put a ton of work into this film from the preparation, casting, filming, cleaning, and editing. It would mean a lot to us if you would like the video, subscribe to our channel, and share this video.

The intro is so intense, which I love. it is one of the best world War II short films I’ve ever seen. It’s has changed so much since the first episode. R.I.P smith

A simple "like" is not enough. Where do I even begin? The special effects, the sound effects, the weapons, the uniforms, the action, and the acting were all absolutely first rate. You young men deserve an award. And the German troops spoke German! Amazing! So much talent and hard work goes into these short films. It is not lost on me. You Guys are the absolute best, and I say that as a lifelong amateur World War II historian who had family on both sides in the European theater. Looking forward to the next one.

I guess that's why the first episode of season 4 will be "Airborne", because Roberts will be talking to Sturdy about him and Smith's past in the Airborne platoon.

I just have to say... this is some amazing work, you guys have really improved just about everything from season 1! You guys should be very proud of your stunning work! One question though where did you guys get all your costumes and weapons?
I bet these were alot of fun to make. A couple things is one to beat up your gear and get it dirty, would go alot to improving the impressions. Two is look up reference photos and study infantry tactics. But great effort and good job with the short. Come a long way since the beginning!

Time timestamps of when roberts shouldve died in this episode:
9:52 (along with everyone else there, theres no way that mg34 missed all its shots)
10:38 standing up while being shot at by like 10 guys.
10:54 There are like loads of other germans shooting and theyre just able to run out in the open like its nothing.
11:03 I dont know why a machine gun loading takes so long, it usually takes about 2-3 seconds in a combat scenario they shouldve been ripped to shreds by that 8mm mauser.
11:10 Again arent the other germans shooting?
(14:28 , not related but i wanted to add this here but that BAR dude wouldve hit the stars, he didnt even aim let alone the recoil on that BAR and yet he landed like 1/2 of all his shots)
15:05 A body of somebody isnt going to stop the damage of the stick grenade, roberts face and torso atleast wouldve been burnt apart and he wouldve been knocked out cold.
15:16 Refer to above, and there are 2 guys aiming at roberts in the background atleast.
15:27 Roberts is an american soldier not a german, he is not trained to handle panzerfausts, it wouldve blown up in his face, which exactly what wouldve happened because a few seconds later you can see him pressing down the trigger while not aiming it.
16:00 Those PAK 40 dudes are trained and they are probably combat veterans because there wasnt alot of reinforcements, especially SS coming for western front, and PAK 40s have sights that allow them to zero in their shots.
16:11 Going out in the open under fire..
17:29 A PAK 40 that close wouldve killed him by exploding his organs through shockwave, but even if he got lucky, he wouldnt just snap out and stand up like that, he wouldve been knocked out cold.
17:34 Theyre still underfire and yet not even a scratch.
17:42 Refer to above, gunshots still going on and non of them are injured...
And Roberts should return to his unit, even if his entire company is destroyed theyre able to just switch him to another company its not such a problem. All of Airborne personnel were in England when august hit, unless youre still MIA and lost all by yourself in some French farmlands, in which roberts' case, he is clearly not.
I hope the makers of these series see this comment and try to make their films more realistic instead of game-like, plot armor footage.

@@esthermandelheim8389 the unrealism is insane, in a real life scenario those guys would've been beamed by mg fire, idk who the hell hired sturdy as a captain but its common sense not to run open a long distance, with 0 cover, most if not all of these americans should've died, let alone the germans was outnumbered, and idk why the hell they just stopped firing, irl the germans would not want any americans knowing how many are left, better positions to have, etc. the germans irl would've hunted them down
