Awesome collection , great KC bottles. I found a a cask strength rye 2018 release, been searching for the kc12 cask strength bourbon. They must all be long gone.

Excellent collection and behind the scenes for us curious bastards 😂! I am jealous of the HH 17 and Coy Hill(s). I passed on HH 18 for $350. The reviews are lukewarm. That’s not good enough for almost $400 out the door. I concur with others on here. You do so much with what you have. I connect with and appreciate the relative modesty on your part. Try to resist the algorithm lords and stay away from giant monthly hauls which imo are crotch shots in disguise and frankly glutinous in some cases. Cheers and thanks!
Thanks and yeah I’m not interested in paying that high retail price for HH18 when it’s worse than HH17. And thanks just don’t have the room or the budget for more. I don’t get how some reviewers buy enough to even make monthly videos I always try and drink through about the same number of bottle I bring in a year so the overall number stays roughly the same

Wow you got a good eye. Yeah the one I filmed the review with was my buddy’s bottle and I then later got a bottle. I’m good with the one I have I don’t think there is much batch variation at all on the bottles released in the same year
I ordered one of those Bull Run Cognac finish bottles from Seelbach's several weeks back based on your review of that. They mistakenly sent me a bottle of 13th Colony 15th Yr Anniversary instead! It was a nice surprise, and I was definitely a beneficiary of that administrative error, however I'm sad I have no clue if or when I'll ever see a bottle of that Bull Run now.
Whoah hell of an error in your favor congrats haha. I hear some total wines also got a pick of the bull run cognac finish so maybe if you are near one you could check out if they have any no idea how it compares to the Seelbachs pick though

That Bull Run has been out of stock at Seelbach's for at least a couple weeks now.

Count me among the jealous, you have my Holy Grail bottle, KC12 CS. Never been able to find one.
I've never seen the KC12 CS in the wild and, when I talk with others in the hobby about it, they haven't seen it, either.
It was a super limited 2020 release there was 2 batches the 124.3 and the 120.5. It was rumored to be KY only but it didn’t sell well as it had an msrp of 99 when at the time 14-15yr old Kc picks were still available for 60ish. The excess was sold off to total wine and for some reason the majority went to TW in Claymont DE where they sold it next to the identical looking regular KC 12 so people didn’t notice
See my other comment it was limited and hard to come by most people didn’t realize it existed when it released as they were still enthralled with the older picks out at that time

Thanks for the history lesson. I hadn't heard any of that but have wondered why so little of the Cask Strength is around anymore.
Earlier today another popular channel put out a video and I thought about your KC12 CS when one of the reviewers (by the name of Trenton) said that he knew Knob Creek did a cask strength version of the 12 Year in "2015/2016" and he further said he's been trying to find it "FOREVER" and he "just can't." (And this guy Trenton is known for being able to find hard-to-find bottles.) I knew that it wasn't 2015/16 but, instead, a few years after that. I'm pretty sure I saw a 12 CS come up on an auction site half a year back.
Sam Houston is unfortunately permanently discontinued. I think they ran out of enough good stock to keep that line since it was essentially the honey barrels for calumet
Yeah I heard that but for 2024 they are doing a calumet 17 so that should be both good and interesting

I just got a bunch of samples of Ben Holladay products been to sick to try them but that’s in there planning on a doing a video review soon of it

Holladay seems to be the "It Boy" of bourbon right now but reviews are a bit mixed; looking forward to hearing what you have to say.

I've seen a few reviews of their bottled-in-bond bourbons and a couple different reviewers have said that one (or both) of those bottles were overpriced at $50. It was said that the more appropriate price was around $30. So, so far I haven't put money toward any of it.
Other than the price difference, how does the Sagamore Manhattan compare to Disco 8? Both are on the shelf near me for $80 and $140 respectively. Which one should I get?
I mean both are great but totally different. If you only have the funds for one the disco 8 is the way to go. Sagamore may do another manhattan finish but generally Bardstown doesn’t repeat the discos

@bourbonbill I think so. I'll probably buy some backup sagamore since they were bought by an Italian company. Perhaps some 7 year store picks. You never know what they are going to change. Most companies that get bought out (not just distilleries) suffer in some way after being bought by a larger corporation.
@@SigSauerSauceyeah for sure their store picks are great. They are slowly moving to their own distillate so the 7yr mgp ones will disappear eventually

To be honest I expected you to have 300+ bottles. But you have a really good variety with some great store picks! Those KC12 CS are the real deal for sure (had a sample of a 124.3 proof, MONEY). For me going foward it's mostly about the picks. I'm just done with shelfers and most LE's
Haha sorry too sick looking to film the intro normally. And nah my wife would me if I had that many. The secret is you can do the whiskey tube game with a lot less than people think. And I agree besides the few big name JD LEs I’m all about good quality store picks of odd ball stuff. That 11yr Kc pick beats a lot of more expensive bottles for example
@@bourbonbill One of the reasons I really like your channel is our tastes line up pretty well, I love that rich oak profile where a lot of people just want sweet Buffalo Trace etc. For example I really enjoyed Calumet 16 (lots of ppl didn't) and have had a couple different batches. Took a few months to open up but are some of my favorite sippers. But yep, it's about the picks. Got a Russell's SiB Camp Nelson E pick that gives the Single Rick F a run for it's money, and it was $70 doll-hairs!
