Woah! The shots at the end in the middle of the trees were perfect, your timing was really good for the the natural light to be this dim but bright enough to show the bike.
He did it again, very nice build! Just a tip from a metal worker; files have a direction. You used the file wrong when deburring the fork after the cut. It might seem like your getting a smoother finish, but in reality you are just pushing the burr back and blunting your file. I'd recommend getting a smoother file. Cheers!
SCOTTY BRO ITS BEEN A LONG TIME THAT YOU HAVE NOT MADE ANY BIKE MAINTAINANCE VIDEO PLZ MAKE IT SOON IT WILL BE GREAT CONTENT DURING LOCKDOWN AND YOU DO IT AT YOUR HIME ITSELF WITHOUT GOING OUT!
Great Video Scotty. I built last year for my daughter a Scott Scale 730 Frame 2016 Frame with Sram Carbon Crank , GX 1x11, Stans no Tubes light XC wheels tubeless ( We sponsor by them ) Shimano XT brakes and rest carbon item. the bike weight 20LB . This bike is so nimble and a climber !!!
It’d be brilliant to see an edit of you riding the bike Scotty. As a hardtail xc rider with a background in dh I think there’s not enough content out there of good riders showcasing inspirational riding on this style of bike, and it’d be amazing to see you on this!
I think top end factory fork comes only in their signature orange unless it's for OEM bikes... what I'm really curious is about the final weight of that bike, should be around 8,5Kg I guess
@@arfmf I built crosscountry bike with the black version of the factory fork. they are available in black. i even peeled the stickers off. My guess for this bike would be 9.5kg.
I wasn’t sure about the colour of the forks at first but now I’ve seen the other video of your first ride I am now converted. The two colours clash massively however because they are also both florescent colours they actually match in a weird way.
I'm not really into xtr, my choice would be xt derailleur and shifter, slx cranks, chainring, maybe xtr cassette but probably xt or slx, depending on what's on sale. Wouldn't go for a stepcast fork either, but I'm not counting seconds. Wheels.... Whould not choose carbon, but I have no experience if that would matter for me. I know, 180mm rotors would do, I'm a bigger rider. Great choice on tires, great bars. Would choose a shorter straight stem for me. Overall great great bike, that you build there (I think). Scotty's Scott. Have fun. Stay safe. Beste Grüße aus Deutschland!
Thank you! Looks wise for the XTR? The feel of it is incredible, second to none I'd say... I might have to swap the stem out for something shorter - we'll see! ;)
@@ScottyLaughland It's more a price/performance thing. Some parts are double the price or more for little weight savings or performance gain. But you're build a dream bike, not a reasonable one, so heck, go big.
Love it man. I'm a huge hardtail fan. even though I own a full suspension bike. I ride my hardtail 80% of the time. It's just a faster bike. And climbing ability is on a different level.
Nice build. The XTR shifts very nice and close to how I imagined the XT M8100 to shift (from UA-cam info) which I’ve just installed. However I’m not sure what’s wrong it’s crunches/grinds when going up the 3 largest cogs. Followed installation to the letter. LBS said the hanger is straight. I’m not sure what’s wrong with it. Chain also seems to hit the cage when shifting 3-4 clicks
@@woduk yep, would agree. Watch the park tool derailleur adjustment video. Great in depth. Distance on the biggest (slowest) gear should be 5mm tip to tip, I think.
Lars Borgman Thanks it’s adjusted so the longest tooth is in line with the top edge of the 51T line of the back of the cage. I’ll try pushing it out a bit further as it depends when looking slightly above or below where it falls
Did you go with a 44mm or a 51mm offset on the fox forks? I'm an aggressive rider and I'm looking into getting these but just not sure which one to choose. I have a 29er by the way
what is the reason you chose 100mm travel rather than 120mm? I hope to be answered by you because I also want to build a 950 scoot scale bike, thank you
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but why is Scotty in old GMBN videos from years ago but not the new ones? Just curious why Scott is making his own personal videos now and stopped with GMBN.
A little off subject but here is the question I recently purchased a Scott genius e ride tuned I ORDERED the bike with a range extender battery the shop without my knowledge installed the range extender battery I asked them to remove it as most of my rides do not require 1125 wh of battery energy .they told me that it is very difficult to remove the extra battery once installed - its a medium - despite being told it would not be a problem . Obviously the aesthetics of the bike have been destroyed it was a nice looking bike but my question is if the ride performance and handling would be diminished given the 3-4 lb weight penalty thanks Scotty - i know you are the Scott expert
Hey Peter! Sorry to hear that man! It’s an awesome looking bike you’re right... I can’t say I know much but the additional weight will make it a little harder to throw around I’d guess. I’m waiting for a booster so hopefully I’ll know more soon on it. The plus side is that you’ll be able to do some true true epics with the range that will provide. Have fun the bike is super fun to ride and really rips if you push it!

I have a 920, the scales are off the chain good! Fantastic bikes!
Just sold one i had for 5 years, got a new full sqisher , which i love but still miss it on the climbs

The weight is less then 20 pounds

Do you grease bb shell or use retaining compound before pressing in bb?
I greased it up!

it is my dream bike too! but at 5'10, it seems I am in between medium and large on Scott Bikes.... don't know witch one I fit best.

Where did the battery go?
did the XTR Hub Eliminate the scylence?
I believe they changed the original design after the initial launch.
