I'm so grateful I found this video. I also have a Panasonic RC-6030. The motor in mine was making noise for awhile but wasn't that loud. Worked like a charm until it randomly quit a couple of days ago. Took the clock apart and assisted the motor in spinning and then it would spin on its own again until the gunk slowed it down or stopped it. Did the trick with the alcohol and put it all back together and she's working like a charm again. Thank God. I didn't want to have to try and get another 6030 to gut and use as parts. And I found finding a replacement motor is nonexistent. Thanks again. You helped me repair and save my vintage gem and saved me a heart attack! I would have been really sad if I couldn't fix it.
I can't believe there's no dust or dirt whatsoever inside the case! It almost looks like brand new. I've recently bought a Sanyo RM 5010, and will base on your tutorial to open it up, clean it and try to fix the alarm. I was actually wondering if the time knobs had to be pulled off to open the case, and as per your video it looks like that's the proper way. The detail on how to cliean the motor with 95% alcohol instaed of 3 in 1 oil is great! I would've used WD-40 solution, which could've been a mistake too. Thanks for your tutorials, man!
Clean as a whistle. This was actually the second time I opened it up tbh. I forget, but I might have hit it with condensed air when I replaced the light.
I have one of these and it was working fine. I used it again but this time i used the wrong plug converter and it stopped working. I should have paid more attention, slight burning smell came from it. I immediately unpluged it. Found out i used the wrong plug convertor. I assume it maybe a blown capacitor. I did open it and i could spot any immediate tell tail signs. Is there a video online to how to repair thie clock if there is no power. Thanks.
Hi guys. I got a problem with my clock radio flip flap vintage. It doesn't doesn't say the good time speed for one minute it makes 1:08 minutes. So what is the problem to solve. Motor is 10 volts but it received only 8.90 volts. Thanks for your help guys if you know this problem.
+แดนนี่ ยอร์ค not too familiar with this problem. Mackey over at flipclockfans.com might be able to help you. He was really helpful with my repair. Good luck!
Any idea where i could get just one of those lights, I've got a similar model clock that needs a new light, but I live in Australia and the amazon store wont ship here and all the ones on eBay have high postage to Aus for the 10 pack.
I just bought a 1972 Zenith Circle Of Sound flip clock radio yesterday at Old Glory Antique Mall. These clocks were known to fail early in life, and the clock on mine is not working. Heck, I can't even set the time either. What could be wrong with mine?
I don't know, haven't seen one of those clocks before :( You should check out the forums at flipclockfans.com lot of very helpful people over there. The moderator Mackey gave me some great advice when I was working on fixing my clock. Best of luck! Hope you get it flipping again!
I just got the back to the future clock on Christmas. When I first plugged it in, the motor was so noisy. A week later, the motor totally stopped turning and I'm just gonna try to repair it this way.
Hey Steven. Sorry to hear you're having trouble. This is the only clock I've fixed, so don't know anything about Copal clocks. I found a lot of helpful information over at flipclockfans.com Mackey and the gang was very helpful. Hope you get it figured out!

+luv2dou2 I've heard that train and hobby shops sometimes carry the lights. You might call one of them and see if they have any on hand? Good luck!
Cheers ill try my luck its the last thing I need for my clock radio.
+luv2dou2 would love to see the finished product. Good luck!
Cheers found a local electronics store that had a similar light and it works all good now

Good luck Alex! Hopefully cleaning out the motor works for you. Make sure you let it dry out all the way before you plug it back in. 😀
