CB500X Off-Road In The Tabernas Desert

- The Tabernas Desert became the main reason for doing this section of the TET in Spain, I was looking for an adventure off-road on the CB500X motorcycle. When it was clear that my trip to Morocco was not going to happen with less than a week to go, I started to look to see if there were any similar type landscapes in Spain that I could take the CB500X off-road and experience some of the aspects of the desert. Tabernas became the obvious choice and it was great fun. There are plenty of places to go exploring which I got to do a little of and I would love to go back and spend more time here. I was under pressure to keep moving and cover more of the TET on my trip but a full day here would cover a lot of ground.
It's a very cinematic area and is well worth checking out if you get the opportunity. The river bed from Tabernas to Almeria is covered in the next video.

Out here with guys from Cork we started in Faro about 12 days ago we will finish in Almeria your drone footage is excellent .

Great video, any issue with rock/damage, since cb500x does not have any skid plate/guards for the bottom?
Hi Thank you for the comment, it use the Rally Raid engine guard to protect it. It has a lot of dents and bangs so well worth getting.

Hi Forde, glad you enjoyed it. It's a DJI Mavic 2, I don't have a lot of experience with drones and this one is pretty easy to use and set up to follow you most of the time. There are some good videos online too on how to use it.

How long did it take you to ride down to the desert dude? If you used B&Bs what are the prices like? My Spanish is limited very limited how did u find the communication?
And what an awesome place to ride, it's on my bucket list
Hi Darren, I got the bike shipped to Faro from Ireland and rode to Tabernas, accommodation was pretty easy I used booking.com each day to find somewhere when it started getting late. I also had a tent but the accommodation was so cheap and a bed and shower each day after 9 hours off-road on the bike was too tempting to pass up. You will get on fine without Spanish, its a bonus but not a necessity

Thank you for the comment, I no longer have the phone I used with the map, unfortunately. If I had known it was going to be removed from the TET I would have kept it. My only advice is to take your time and enjoy the ride. I did not have a plan just rode each day until it was near dark and then found a place to stay, I used booking.com and it worked well for me.
