Im so happy you're making these videos 🙌🏾 I'm a homeowner as well and went through the exact same thing you went through. The reason why ppl may seem surprised that youre going through a lot is b/c ppl dont share these experiences about back to back home repairs when this is reality sometimes. Search on YT for new construction home issues, it will blow your mind. Even new homes have major issues. Lastly, a home inspector WILL NOT catch all issues. I learned that if I buy another home it's best to not only get an inspection but to hire a separate plumber to do an intense sewer scope and go through all of your pipes & to also hire a separate electrician during your due diligence of buying a home. Yes!!! I’ve learned so so much and wouldn’t have if it hadn’t been for all of this. I have so many connects now that I can call to look at plumbing, electrical, etc when I decide to buy a new home!

When my house got damaged and insurance was covering it, the only thing I paid out of pocket was my deductible. Everything else, the contractors got their money from the insurance...even the half upfront and the rest after completion and inspection. Servpro was handling my water damage at first. I fired them.
I love your videos and appreciate your openness about your journey. It made me consider and reconsider buying a home ... not in a bad way but more of a yea you need more money for this because so much can pop up. Nobody talks about it. My bestie is a new home owner as well and hasn't mentioned much. I guess after her first year we will do a wrap up because she has expressed wanting to have the whole experience before sharing. So far their water heat has been only big issue.
Some areas also have tool libraries where you can borrow tools. Not sure how to search for it but its definitely a thing.
Harbor freight is a good store for starting tools. A lot cheaper than Lowe’s and Home Depot and they work just fine. OAN, Contractors nowadays try to make it standard for 50% down payment for work to start. It’s crazy

I love it! It’s just a learning process and you are on the right track, all you have to do is try!
I just wanted to let you know that you don’t have to buy fancy furniture or chalk paint. You can go to lows or hd and get a $17 quart of flat paint. Make sure you prep (sand), prime, paint, sand in between coats of paint with 330grit sand paper and seal that paint with a water based polyurethane. Good luck!!! Can’t wait to see your first try

Right!!! It's a home. Apartments have and need repairs as well(hence maintenance man) this is an investment. Everything is going to be brand new❤❤ The Most High is WORKING!! EVERY TIME YOU COME ON IT'S PROGRESS TO ME!! YOU ARE GETTING IT DONE!!! Keep going it's literally around the corner all gas absolutely no breaks!!

Did you have a private home inspection for this home?
I picked the inspector from a list of 3 recommendations! Honestly, he did okay. He marked things that I needed to eventually get looked at but I’m sure he didn’t know they would start going south as soon as I walked in the door😅
