My biggest regret was hiring my cousin as photographer. We paid her, she did the photos. But other then a few she posted online, we never got our pictures. No explanation (she claimed she lost them?) really, and it also ruined our relationship. I have learned over the years not to hire friends, family for anything. Then if you have issues, it doesn’t break relationships or make things awkward.
We had a friend do ours. He handed us a few pix a couple of months later, in the Kodak folders, not even in a book! He supposedly lost 3 rolls of film. Only one picture with my mother! (BTW, this was our gift too.) I'm still bitter 43 years later. I totally agree with this comment!
@@bandwido My older sister and her husband hired one of their good friends to shoot their wedding in an historic church in Buffalo, NY. I'm also a photographer and there was NO way I was missing shooting the wedding, but the only ones I got of the ceremony were from my seat in the pews. Little did we know, the guy enjoyed a little too much of the booze at the rehearsal dinner and was hiding the fact that he was massively hung over. All his pictures were insanely blurry. My pictures were the only decent photos they have of their wedding. I'm glad I got pictures of my sister in her dress in the waiting room in the church and then a bunch outside the church when they were posing for the photographer, but I think the best ones I got were my sister in front of a huge stained glass window in the bride's room in the church, and one post ceremony when the bride and groom are looking down Main Street with confused looks on their faces (because the limo was 20 minutes late) You can see the famous Anchor Bar in the background. To me, it screams 'we got married in BFLO!'
Your Mama looked like a queen...she picked the right dress. My one regret was not hiring a professional protographer. We had a pretty simple wedding but I wish I had good photos!
As a planner I’m listening and I hate that these things happened and became regrets. So many of these things were completely avoidable. A lot of people don’t know the difference between a venue coordinator and a wedding planner/coordinator. While a venue coordinator coordinates the happenings at the venue, a wedding planner/DOC is someone who is hired to catch every single one of these mishaps. We do touch ups, we know how to bustle and check dresses, we make sure you’re hydrated and relaxed without being over served, keep a list of pictures you want (and won’t forget), prep you for holiday things or rainy day options, and we keep your timeline for the bride AND groom so you don’t feel rushed or wandering. It’s literally our job to keep the day stress free. From the photos it looks like your day was so beautiful and I’m glad that it all worked out! From someone in Cincy, Drees is always a beautiful spot - no matter what happens. Thank you for sharing this if anything to be a cautionary tale!!
Everyone looked so nice. The picture with both sets of parents is beautiful. Both moms looked so nice and you looked like a princess. Just stunning. Wishing you both all the best.
I’m only 24 seconds in and I love what you said about regrets! It’s a huge pet peeve for me too. Regrets are a part of life! They can help us grow, learn, or even help us give advice to others!
My biggest regret was too many unnecessary diy projects, also getting married during mother's day weekend and prom made it hard to find hair/makeup & flowers. Also I would make a rule that if anything goes wrong- don't tell the bride/groom, tell the venue staff, parents, anyone else. Don't stress a couple out.
Your mother looked so beautiful in the pictures. The blue dress was the right choice. Airfares during the 4th weekend were crazy we flew to Kentucky from Austin for my niece's wedding and the cost of the tickets was mind-blowing. Soon you won't remember your regrets as you will just enjoy married life with Zac.
In Poland wedding reception is much longer. IT usually starts about 4-5pm at lasts till about 4am(sometimes even longer). Sometimes wedding lasts 2 days-main event on saturday and shorter party on sunday
I didn’t do an autopsy of my wedding the days following. I planned it, it was my day. I did what I wanted. I opted out of a videographer and limos, and didn’t miss either. 25 years later, I don’t wish I could watch my wedding. Also, I asked my photographer to do CANDID pics outside of the official photos. I have the best reception photos of everyone having fun!
your wedding looked GREAT! the fireworks added a fun touch. I also understand about breaking "tradition" and not being separate from your significant other before the wedding...I think that should be an individual decision FOR SURE. my mom planned my sister's wedding and stressed about EVERYTHING...she still complains to this day (6 years later). I threw up during the whole thing (heatstroke lol).
I totally stand by your holiday date feelings. I got married around Cinco de Mayo (which is HUGE in arizona) so it's hard to go have a romantic dinner for our anniversary because everyone is partying. My bday is around Valentines Day so it's hard finding a restaurant that isn't packed with romantic diners. LOL
Kathy looked amazing!!!! After all her dress drama, she chose the right one. At the time of my wedding, I had the same hair issue. My hair never held curls. I don’t know what my hairstylist did that day, but my hair held up perfectly. I will say she used a lot of hair products. 🤣🤣 Does your hair look a little flat in some pictures….yes. Does it take away the beauty of your pictures…no. Your photographer did amazing. I especially loved The Burke Family photo. 💕💕
This video is making me so excited for my wedding next summer! I love hearing about all the details of your big day. Looking forward to the 20 things you wouldn’t change video 😊
I have been married for 10 years. And still watched everything because I can give my daughter advise for her wedding in the future. (My princess is 7))))
Congratulations on the wedding! The venue is my fave! Everything looks amazing and you were so beautiful! The only thing that shook me is how a wedding ends at 11pm 😮In my country it typically ends around 4 5am and it starts at 3-4 pm 😀
Oh wow, that’s crazy!! I think that’s actually how it was for my cousin’s wedding in Ireland - but I was so tired I ended up going back to the hotel around midnight while everyone partied for hours 😂
I like when you mix it up between vlogs and more curated content! Do you have any plans to do more videos like "what I spend in a day"/budgeting tips? Also, do you plan on sharing your full wedding video when you get it back?
Lol my ceremony was at 2pm 🤣 (at a church) and then reception was 4-10 because we had a 2 hour cocktail “hour”. So glad we added that extra hour! We took photos during the first half and could enjoy the second half. One regret I have is that my photographer didn’t get photos of our cigar bar or dog biscuit bar lol. I don’t think any guests did either 😢 A silly regret but I spent so much time making everything.
Finally someone who talks about regrets. Yes I have regrets and even on my wedding. I forgot to get someone to record the wedding. Oh we have pictures but didn’t get to see everyone walk down the isle be fore me or at reception.
I love the dress your mom went with - jewel tones with fair skin seems to make the eyes stand out. And Tom, he looks like he's about to make some mischief in that picture of the three of you. Stunning. (would love to see a picture of you three with Neil - hope you got one!)
I’d love for Zach’s perspectives, because though there is many people that say it’s the brides day; and they make the event. Although to me it shouldn’t be just her day, and her event; but their event. I feel sometimes men or the significant other is left out of the decisions made, and if I was to have a wedding in the future, I don’t want to be left out of it; and enjoy our day. Glad to see your thoughts are well of course, and hope your week is well 1:33

My biggest regret was not saying NO when people offered to do things for us. Ie, I'll do your hair and makeup , I'll be your videographer. It always turns out bad. My cousins husband was going to be our videographer and they cancelled 2 weeks before the wedding.
This was amazing thank you !!! Getting married in October in New Zealand. Love the tip about staying in the same room the night before, didn't even think about this but I definitely think it suits us as a couple and will probably relax us both more than being apart
Weddings are so funny - a million things can go right just at the same time a million tiny things can also go wrong. You just have to shrug it off and just make sure you get the entire thing recorded for when you are both old and want to relive the moment. I absolutely dont understand why people dont put the money in for really good photos and footage of the entire day. You only get it once. I will be spending well over 3000 for mine. Got a really good band and so much more that I never panned in the start but I know guests will never forget it and neither will I.
I’m recommending two different descriptions of this (helpful) video : “lessons learned” or “after action review”. Both capture all the things you want to share with us, yet put it into a things to learn position. Regret is such a strong word anymore. Your last point is key - don’t worry. You will be married regardless of what happens ( unless you forget to get a marriage license. 😅)
I should have included my sister more. I was so confused though. With the temple ceremony where my family couldn't attend, and then the reception. We got lucky they built the Temple right next to the church building where we had the reception.
Love the pictures. As you said, everyone has regrets about many things. Overall the wedding day was perfect! You looked great as did Zac and all the parents!
Our wedding was 5-11pm and honestly I was exhausted by 1030 😂 dancing was from 8-11pm and then we had an after party at our hotel - I think I got unbelievably lucky, but I cannot think of one thing that I would’ve changed about the wedding day 😅 like literally between my wedding planner setting the schedule making sure the day ran smoothly and my bridal party handling everything from feeding me to bustling my dress for me we were set - I didn’t do any touch ups either by 930 I looked a hot mess from dancing lol
Been married 40 years . Had a air force wedding of 100 people. If I had to do it over again would of eloped to Hawaii and take the cash my mom offered us.
I do plan on staying in separate rooms from my Fiance the night before my wedding, but my bridesmaids will be staying with so it will be just like a slumber party with my girls 😍
34 years ago, we had are reception at a legion. It cost 75.00. If you didn’t make a mess you got your money back. Plus I forgot to let down the train on my dress.
What kind of centerpieces did you do ? My venue has fake flower centerpieces that I was going to do, but then some people saying real flowers are nicer. I’m thinking of DIY them myself with flowers I buy
I wish I had done a videographer. My father in law filmed but it was rough. I do appreciate he got footage though. I hired a wedding coordinator that I met through a venue and wholeheartedly regretted her because she was a mess.
I completely do not understand why people in US have weddings just for few hours. We usually start a church ceremony around noon/maximum 2pm and we have fun all night, usually till 4am in Poland. Some people do also a "after wedding party" next day do its the same fun from 6pm till 4am.
How can a wedding end at 11pm???? How can you eat, cut the cake and party in such a short amount of time? Seems so rushed. I now get why you felt you had so little time. What a shame. In Switzerland, most weddings last well until early morning hours.
A tip about the Bride drinking a bit too much. The wedding planner was gracious to keep your drink full, but should have alternated alcohol and water. Especially when drink of choice was vodka, would have been an easy accommodation. Every other should have be H2O to keep the Bride hydrated and alert. This is always a good idea when drinking hard liquor, by the way. For my daughter’s wedding, I was the self-appointed makeup touch-up person. I kept at my table a clutch with lipstick, etc and would just hit her up throughout the night-right there in the open, just a quick second of application. She had no mirror to gauge when she needed to reapply and I knew when the next “event”, example cake cutting, etc was to be, so I could plan ahead to catch her a bit off to the side and keep her fresh all night. Just a few thoughts for Brides-to-be for options. Clancy, your wedding was stunning, as were you, and we had hiccups ourself, inevitability.
I really weird question... what phone case is that? It's so pretty, and I wanted to get a bridal case for my iPhone for my wedding so it goes with the aesthetic lol. Great video, i'm getting married in Nov and this has been super helpful!
I legit went through a LOT of the same 'regrets' back in 2012 when I got married. (except the drinking and 2nd dress lol) But I don't remember looking in the mirror to touch up once! What the heck? lol Your wedding looked SO lovely!
Not being with him the wedding night before Thst tradition was out there way wsy back when Men and Women didn’t sleep with their boyfriends or girlfriends before marriage Realky let’s get real how many people wait until marriage or to many
I wish I would have had a videographer. We had an epic EDM dance party segment at our reception with glow sticks and I have just one 8 second video from my maid of honor. 😅 Luckily my sister-in-law got a few videos of the first kiss, introductions, pie cutting, first dances, and garter grab/toss so I'm very grateful for that. Also I'm so glad my bridesmaid is a seamstress' daughter because NO ONE told me anything about pinning the train up. Hahaha. I had no drinks at my wedding (apple juice for champagne because I dont like it) and I was very happy with that choice.
As you probably know, weddings here in Ireland kick off about 1pm and continue for two days, my only regret was the open bar on the second day because our bank balance took a serious knock 😂😂, it was actually worth every cent though, we all talk about it all the time as one of our best weekends ever.
Wonderful sharing my friend Clancy and your wedding pictures are looking too too beautiful you are my inspiration and I wish you have a amazing day 😃💫💖

I love how I’m still watching this - already married and chose not to have a wedding 😂
Oh wow, I wanted to married Labor Day weekend for the same reasons. Glad it didn’t work out
How can a wedding end at 11pm???? How can you eat, cut the cake and party in such a short amount of time? Seems so rushed. I now get why you felt you had so little time. What a shame. In Switzerland, most weddings last well until early morning hours.
I would never be able to stay awake that late 😂
Lol. The toilet paper roll 😂
I can’t stop noticing. Last vlog too 👀
I really weird question... what phone case is that? It's so pretty, and I wanted to get a bridal case for my iPhone for my wedding so it goes with the aesthetic lol. Great video, i'm getting married in Nov and this has been super helpful!
I woukd not get married on a holiday weekend
I legit went through a LOT of the same 'regrets' back in 2012 when I got married. (except the drinking and 2nd dress lol) But I don't remember looking in the mirror to touch up once! What the heck? lol Your wedding looked SO lovely!
I guess it’s a good sign we were having too much fun to care about what we looked like!!!
@@ClancyBurkeX absolutely!!! Although I have some regrets when I look at pics 😭🤣🤣
Good morning Clancy, 🙏 thank you for always sharing 😘 have a wonderful week.
Thank you for watching!!
my biggest regret was getting mad that my husband smashed cake in my face😂
Hahahaha😂
Not being with him the wedding night before Thst tradition was out there way wsy back when Men and Women didn’t sleep with their boyfriends or girlfriends before marriage Realky let’s get real how many people wait until marriage or to many
This was awesome!
Love your vids Clancy!
Thank you!! ❤️
What’s a gift I can give my son and his fiancé for a wedding gift? I’m clueless.
Sent this to my sister, as she's getting married in October!
Mine too! 10/20
@@Odiekins omg mines is 10/21!
See, he did come through with another regret. I put it on the list to make sure providers restrict access to the area.
Great advise! I’m having my wedding in 6 months! 😊
As you probably know, weddings here in Ireland kick off about 1pm and continue for two days, my only regret was the open bar on the second day because our bank balance took a serious knock 😂😂, it was actually worth every cent though, we all talk about it all the time as one of our best weekends ever.
Fr ur look very beautiful 😻
