    VERY Tricky - I just thought we had a pile of really great artists around our area. But this must be how they produce such good quality images, so quickly. I will have to investigate some of the rocks I find to see if this is what they did> Thanks for this tip. 💐 🐓👍

      Here I was doing my own work, LOL. I prefer my own, but I plan to use the carbon paper when & if I ever decide to do one in a rush. There are many artist out there that do their own, not all is traced.

    What a super idea, using art work around the house. Well at least if you have kids or grand kids. Nice to find a project that uses materials I already have in my craft stash! Thanks for the uplifting video.

    I used to do something similar, but instead of adhering the tissue paper permanently I would hold it down with craft tape and use a light marker that would seep through the paper just enough where I could use the marks as a guide. Has anyone tried any of those optical projectors? Some are just, well, projectors, but others seem to be as simple as a folded sheet of plastic or plexiglass where you place the photo you want to trace on one side and your drawing paper below the sheet on the other side. Was wondering if it works!

    Great video! I have seen a few other transfer tutorials but this is so much easier..I like the fact that you showed you can use the base color as the glue for the picture. Many other tutorials have you do base, then use modge podge , then the transfer usually with tissue paper n printers. This makes it so much simpler. You could also use regular modge podge if you dont have the spray kind right? I love Posca paint pens they are the best most vibrant and most reliable. Other brands can be tricky and dry up quickly when not used alot. They are nowhere near as vivid either..especially with a coat of resin on the finished rock..the colors pop!

    When doing this kind of transfer, does the paper ever start to peel off the rock over time? Thanks!

    Great tutorial on transferring images to rocks. Thanks!
    As a kid I used sheets of what we call "carbon-paper" to make my own coloring pages. (I think they were meant for type-writers back then, to make multiple copies of a page for archival purposes) I put them behind the front page of a comic book, with a blank page behind that, and when I traced the image, it gave me very precise and dark blue outlines. I think that would work just as well for a primed rock, and that would significantly simplify and speed up the transferring process.
    Ever tried that?

      Thanks! You could use acrylic paint and a brush to paint the object. I like using pens for tracing because it is more like drawing but paint and brush works, too!

    Do you have any suggestions about the possibility of doing painted rocks for a 1 day camp? Is it possible?

    • @ILovePaintedRocks
      @ILovePaintedRocks  3 роки тому

      For camps I really like giving kids maximum flexibility and just setting out paints for them to do their thing.

    Can I use baking paper

    • @ILovePaintedRocks
      @ILovePaintedRocks  3 роки тому

      My guess is that baking paper probably isn’t porous enough to work the same way that thin tissue wrapping paper does and you would probably be disappointed with the results.

    Hi I'm new at painting rocks, can you tell me the purpose of spraying pod modge on the rock before painting the image?

    • @ILovePaintedRocks
      @ILovePaintedRocks  4 роки тому +3

      Sorry for the late response! I just realized I wasn’t getting the notifications for my videos.
      The spray Mod Podge is used to adhere the tissue paper to the rock. You should adhere it before painting for best results because without being adhered to something, the dampness of the paint would cause the tissue paper to fall apart.
      I hope that answers your question!
