True story, in early eighties, Hall and Oates played a concert at the High School I went to. School won a contest from Philly radio station by sending in the most BubbleYum wrappers. The prize was this "Up and coming" band would play live in the gym!
🇬🇧 This duo are the most successful duo of all time. And they have a plethora of hits for you to react to. My favourite "You Make My Dreams Come True"👌 "One On One" "I Can't Go For That" "Private Eyes"🎼♥️👍👌🎶
Hall and Oates a must in the 80's so many hits,👌 Suggested Reaction's "Maneater","I Can't Go For That"," Private Eye" Peace Gary 😊 Shon Great Reaction👍
This is one of my favorite tracks by this fabulous duo - one of many... Loved it since I first heard it, in early October, 1984. How did 40 years go by so quickly?!? And, after reading through some of the comments, I'm so glad Daryl didn't have the opportunity to destroy this video!😄 Great reaction, my Friend!💕
They actually used the dance remix (not the radio version) for the video, which was not common. They have another great song from this album called Method of Modern Love. Golden age of MTV.
Daryl Hall said in an interview that he wished he had never done a music video, he said he particularly hated this one, he said he was embarrassed after reviewing it in what they had talked him into doing. He wound up saying if he could he would destroy every video he had ever made.
They had so many hits. They reached the US Top 40 with 29 of their 33 singles charting on the Hot 100. The RIAA named them the most successful duo in rock history back in 1984, a title they are considered to hold til this day. I Can't Go For That, She's Gone and Sara Smile are some favs.
Shon, their catalogue is so deep. Beautiful songs that never get airplay like " "If A Promise Ain't Enough".I can promise you, it is just a magnificent song that gets no airplay from reactors. Why not give that one a shot.?
Gotta do either "I Can't Go For That" or "Method of Modern Love". Great reaction! The video is an edited down version of the remix... but with this you get the epic drum breakdown towards the end that makes the extended version the best version.
I love the part where they sing “smoking guns, hot to the touch, would cool down if we didn’t use them so much” and then he blows the smoke away from his fingers ❤
Kid Creole and the Coconuts: "Endicott" and "Stool Pigeon." The horns on "Lifeboat Party" are a blast. Fishbone: The rhythm section and ska brass on "Party at Ground Zero" are spectacular. Oingo Boingo: "Dead Man's Party" is well known. "Ain't This The Life" is amazing rapid fire zaniness.
Daryl’s voice is just as good today as it was in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Someone probably has recommended Live From Daryl’s House to you already, but I want to make sure because you’d love watching some of those performances. If you haven’t already, and I don’t think you have, you should check out Rich Girl. It’s a good one.
Got to see them a few years ago, before they broke up for good. John Oates wrote a great autobiography - worth finding and reading to understand what all happened from the 70s to current. If you haven't done Method of Modern Love yet, that's a good one. Adult Education is another good one.
I Can't Go For That, and Maneater would be the 2 songs I would suggest the most, if you have not done them already. Also, I believe they are the greatest selling band or else duo of all time. Amazing grouip.
Need to start drinking game for every time Shon says “man”. 😆 Man, I’d be hammered. Hall & Oats have so many hits, keep going. Check out Maneater. Don’t expect a reunion with these two, they only file lawsuits against each other these days. 😞
The was a thing where Michael Jackson called Hall and Oats to say that he stole the baseline from "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" for "Billie Jean", they didn't think he did and didn't care either way. :)
Pick ANY Hall&Oates song/video to react to…they’re all freakin great! They were my first rock concert as a teenager I the early 80’s, it was the H2O tour and Steel Breeze opened for them
Sara Smile live and You make my dreams come true from them. Please check out Tragically Hip New Orleans is sinking studio version 🙏 Great reaction and Peace ✌️ 🙏 😀😮
Here's a suggestion you most likely won't hear from anyone. A Rock Band from Finland called "Poets of the Fall". Listen To "Carnival of Rust". It's FIRE!!! 🔥
the hall & oates trifecta for me: sara smile rich girl she's gone their '70s stuff is untouchable imo but "out of touch" is their lone '80s tune that i really like. still, not in the same atmosphere as the trifecta but honourable mention.
You are very smooth and intelligent, just like this song bro. I thought the exact same thing about the "uhhh uhhh" and all the little things, it just fits so well and makes the song amazing 😁
Buenas noches! I understand you are here on the behalf of Mr. Rosenberg. I hope any recent problems have not affected his health, or uh, mental well being, Mr...uh?
I love this song, but I gotta say I *don't* like the production at all. Even when it came out it sounded too cluttered, and forty years on it sounds both cluttered and extremely dated, in a way that a lot of 80s songs are. And it's a pity, because underneath the sheen and clanking sounds lies a beautiful, plaintive song, struggling to get out.
Never clicked on a video so fast!! One of the best songs!!!
Vice city game have this song on radio emotion 😊😊😊
@@sasapetroski981GTA Vice City Flash FM 2002 👍🎮🎧
@@projectmaker8832 still can play today😊😊😊
"I Can't Go For That" next please!
Ooooooooh yes
I think everyone,....I mean EVERYONE loves Hall and Oates!
Their uptempo songs are my favourite.
💃
For another Hall and Oates take... check out "One On One"... slow, steamy, sexy, so good.
So many 🔥 songs keep going down the rabbit hole 🙏
H and O - I can't go for that, knocks it out of the park!
True story, in early eighties, Hall and Oates played a concert at the High School I went to. School won a contest from Philly radio station by sending in the most BubbleYum wrappers. The prize was this "Up and coming" band would play live in the gym!
I loved this song back in the day. I haven’t heard it in years. Thanks for this reaction.
🇬🇧

One of my favs!
One of my favourites of H & O is you make my dreams. Instantly cheers me up every time I hear it
Yes, please go down this rabbit hole. They had many hits but one of my faves is “Wait For Me”.
They actually used the dance remix (not the radio version) for the video, which was not common. They have another great song from this album called Method of Modern Love. Golden age of MTV.

I hate seeing myself on video, but this is classic. He should love it.
Ever watched Daryl’s house? Liked to have seen him doing that kind of music instead…the guy is a true Rocker at heart!
He just hates the studio control at that time. Worked hard to become independent from them.
This song still moves! Damn what a killer track! Viva 80's!!
I agree that "She's Gone" is an incredible song, so soulful and powerful.
So good hall and oates.im late to the party with this duo but looking forward to learning more thank you shon for showcasing music like this.
I like your reaction style.

I love this song.
I absolutely adore them. Definitely worthy of my love. Darryl’s House is not too far from my house.
Gotta do either "I Can't Go For That" or "Method of Modern Love". Great reaction! The video is an edited down version of the remix... but with this you get the epic drum breakdown towards the end that makes the extended version the best version.

Loved just about everything they did in the 80s.
Kid Creole and the Coconuts: "Endicott" and "Stool Pigeon."
The horns on "Lifeboat Party" are a blast.
Fishbone:
The rhythm section and ska brass on "Party at Ground Zero" are spectacular.
Oingo Boingo:
"Dead Man's Party" is well known.
"Ain't This The Life" is amazing rapid fire zaniness.

Love!! Saw them live and def one of my fave concerts!!
This is about a decade after “She’s Gone.” This video came out the summer MTV finally came to my small town and they played it constantly
Awesome! More Hall & Oates songs: Maneater, Kiss On My List, Private Eyes, I Can't Go For That, You Make My Dreams Come True
These guys for me have not and still cannot do any wrong- Love them
Once again, you got this reaction on lock!
Best song in GTA.
GTA Vice City - Flash FM 2002 👍🎮🎧
Adult Education is a banger
They never made a bad song
Midnight Oil - Beds are burning :-)
I Can't Go For That, and Maneater would be the 2 songs I would suggest the most, if you have not done them already.
Also, I believe they are the greatest selling band or else duo of all time. Amazing grouip.
Waiting for you to react to Donna Summer Love To Love You Baby
Daryl Hall is the king of ad-libs - "Method of Modern Love" the second half almost of the song is him just riffing like that. He's the best!
Shon! You're right on time with that upload lol
Need to start drinking game for every time Shon says “man”. 😆
Man, I’d be hammered.
Hall & Oats have so many hits, keep going. Check out Maneater.
Don’t expect a reunion with these two, they only file lawsuits against each other these days. 😞
You just get it dawg💯💯
I love Gall and Oats thanks Shon
Fantastic song
They were about as cool as your grandma in high school for kids. Looking back huge bevy of hits. Never got the credit then but getting it now.
I keep thinking about a tee shirt I saw that said, "I might be old, but I got to see all the cool bands!"
you need to check out Hall & Oates cover of "Me and Mrs. Jones" Live version...
Vice city game have this song on radio emotion
GTA Vice City - Flash FM 2002 👍🎮🎧
They had so much good music, but this album remains one of my favs. I was a senior in high school when this hit.
Great reaction!
this was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The was a thing where Michael Jackson called Hall and Oats to say that he stole the baseline from "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" for "Billie Jean", they didn't think he did and didn't care either way. :)
i love it so much! dont play the race card and just enjoy the music!
Every song by them has a different feel for me. If you haven't yet, check out Daryl's House with CeeLo Green doing "I Can't go for That."
Pick ANY Hall&Oates song/video to react to…they’re all freakin great! They were my first rock concert as a teenager I the early 80’s, it was the H2O tour and Steel Breeze opened for them
Daryl's still going. Watch Live from Daryl's House where he has guest singers (Cee Lo even!) and does a mix of his songs and theirs.
the 80's were crazy man....for real
Sara Smile live and You make my dreams come true from them. Please check out Tragically Hip New Orleans is sinking studio version 🙏 Great reaction and Peace ✌️ 🙏 😀😮

It's sad that the pair fell out over money issues & won't perform again. Nice to hear the remix version.
Here's a suggestion you most likely won't hear from anyone. A Rock Band from Finland called "Poets of the Fall". Listen To "Carnival of Rust". It's FIRE!!! 🔥
listen to Daryl Hall and Ceelo Green, Live from Daryl's House " I Cant Go For That" You will enjoy.
One of my favorite songs from them is : Rich Girl.
the hall & oates trifecta for me:
sara smile
rich girl
she's gone
their '70s stuff is untouchable imo but "out of touch" is their lone '80s tune that i really like. still, not in the same atmosphere as the trifecta but honourable mention.
Quarterflash - Harden My Heart
Sara smile
This was NOT their last time on the Billboard hit chart... they had more hits through the 80's and their last hit was in 1990 with So Close.
❤
Please react to "you've lost that loving feeling" a cover of the righteous brothers song
Yeah, they do a great version, very similar but pepped up toward the end. (studio version best)
The best r nb
Such a shame where these two are with eachother these days...they made amazing music!
While this was much more "poppy" than I was used to, it was accepted since it was new Hall & Oats. " I'll allow it. Lol
You are very smooth and intelligent, just like this song bro. I thought the exact same thing about the "uhhh uhhh" and all the little things, it just fits so well and makes the song amazing 😁
🎉🎉🎉
Welcome to the meme! Google “out of touch Thursday.”
💯👍🕺
Buenas noches! I understand you are here on the behalf of Mr. Rosenberg. I hope any recent problems have not affected his health, or uh, mental well being, Mr...uh?
Too bad these guys are in a vicious battle with each other. Fighting over the rights to there own music and the right to sell those rights off.
🌸 their songs are so good but their videos are so bad...😂😂😂
Some are! But I like their One on One video.
I love this song, but I gotta say I *don't* like the production at all.
