I absolutely love your videos. I am living my life, vicariously through you. One of these days I just need to go and hunt these absolutely beautiful birds. The places you have had the privilege to see makes me jealous! Love it.
Your dogs are amazing and your great training obviously makes it work. Quite a different Hunt from the first episode Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Florida. Thanks for the great editing with your videos. I know it takes a long time to do .
a few guys are trying to imitate " Ol' E.F. " with there channels, I guess like they say it's the greatest form of flattery , but don't let that go to your head Eric , ( I know it won't) keep the high quality dog shows coming brother, this was epic
Epic Eric. "Click" Anyone who has hunted anytime with a autoloader does it. Yes. We, are blessed to live in a country to pursue our dreams (bird hunting) and to you to leave us memories of your hunts. The love of your dogs shine through as bird dog owners know.
As always great to watch excellent dog work and also someone who appreciates how fortunate to have such amazing expanses of land available to hunt over .
...great video...a guy can't ask for any more than good weather, great dog work and lots of birds...about how many miles on average do you put in per hunt...
Great video, Eric. I don't fault you for the one bird over the limit. That stuff happens. I had it happen to me on a waterfowl hunt. Here's a question: Does the fish and game agency of this undisclosed state reach out to you after this? Do you self report? I will be honest and admit that I didn't self report my waterfowl accidental bonus bird. It came home with me and went in my belly.
I didn’t self report and I don’t see why anyone would. There was no intent and no reasonable action that could have been taken to prevent it. I don’t know any game wardens that would come after someone in this situation. If they did, I would question their motives.
@ericforrester1 I work with a few retired game wardens, and some of them are real sticklers. One of them was the kind of guy that would take a cotton swab to a hook to measure whether or not the hook was debarbed well enough. I agree with you that this sort of thing should largely be measured by intent. I was thinking of a time that I killed two turkeys with one shot by accident. It was legal to kill two turkeys, and even two turkeys in the same day, but it was illegal to kill the second bird without first reporting the harvest of the first bird. Anyhow, I punched my tags, broke the law, unintentionally by killing two toms with one shot (I had no idea there was another bird behind the one I shot. I touched off the trigger as soon as his head came over the little hill separating us). Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think what you did is a good example of real world hunting ethics. I love your videos. They are the most authentic upland bird hunting videos I have ever seen.
Another fantastic video of chukar hunting. Your spots are amazing we hunt chukars in their motherland (middle east) but it seems that your continent will have more chukars on the upcoming years. Unconscious urbanization destroys the population of wildlife every year in our country. It is great to see that still there are big herds of chukars exist somewhere in the earth.
Another spectacular video in classic chukar habitat: rock, sage, grass + topography = chukar. I find complacency is a function of opportunity. It disappears when birds (or chances) are scarce... only to be replaced by 'tightness' when your mind is telling you to make the most of this flush since you travelled all this way, haven't seen a bird all day, etc. And then you miss from the self-imposed pressure. That's been my experience, anyway 😂
A far Cry from The Hunting Chukars for dummies Video lol Great hunt. I Was wondering what Gps Collars and watch you use I seem to be losing my GSP more and more in the CRP!
I’m a little curious on the 4th shot you take on the big flush where your shoot into the flock. I hunt “similar” terrain here in the PNW in Idaho Oregon and Washington. It may be presumptuous of me…. But I don’t know of anywhere that allows more than 3 in the gun. If you have the time, Let me know. Thanks
I guess what I’m getting at is that I’m pretty sure I know the area, and I’m gonna go so far as to say that a 4th shell is not allowed. Just want to be careful when posting that stuff. Wouldn’t want a guy to get in trouble. I love watching his videos. Just was surprised by the 4th shot is all. Never seen him do it till now
Check the regs in Idaho; the last forty years I’ve hunted in Idaho unplugged shotguns have been allowed for upland bird hunting, with no restrictions limiting shell capacity.
what an amazing video great dog work good shooting we appreciate your work With your years of hunting what is the best boot that you’ve used that is water proof and light weight?
hey eric i just wanted to say that this is a great video once again, but I just had one question. What do you do when you shoot a bird in its wing and the dog brings it to you still alive, just like the bird at the thirteen minute mark of the video? This question is purely out of curiosity. Keep up the great work!!!
Hi there, I’ve been recently watching your videos. I’m a new bird hunter in Las Vegas who recently got a GSP back in March. I’ve been training it, but I’m a new hunter and wanted to ask how you find your locations. Las Vegas and its surroundings can be tough, but I want to start getting out with my dog and having some success. I recently got OnXhunt and I’m learning how to use it. What suggestions would you give a new hunter like myself on how to find bird locations? Thanks for your content.
1. Get a NV guzzler map. Chukar need water. 2. Look at the areas NV department of wildlife does their counts. They don't do counts in areas with no chukar. 3. Ask big game hunters. Bird hunters won't give up their spots but deer/elk hunters will tell you where they saw birds. 4. Go look for them. Water + Cheatgrass+ rocks and sage = birds.
Welcome to the uplands! I have some detailed videos about this on my Patreon page if you’re interested. First step is educating yourself about the birds and their preferred habitat. Google, state websites, birder sites, etc.
What’s up with the 4th shell in the gun? I wasn’t aware of any areas that you can have more than 3 in the gun. Maybe I’m wrong though. I have only been hunting a few years

Great stuff. You remain the undisputed champion of upland hunting videos. Thanks.
Ooh My that was a fantastic hunt video, thankyou again Eric.

This video is chukar hunting. Beautiful country too!
Great job Eric, love how Riggs does the ‘drive by’ toss to you…👊🏻🇺🇸
Your videos are second to none and love the dog work. Always look forward to them.
Thanks Eric, good to hear your appreciation of the hunt, your dogs, the birds and the country.

simply amazing , thanks mr eric
Nice dog work again, they continue to shine. We definitely have to take advantage of these times, no one is promised tomorrow!!
Absolute banner chukar year! Every spot is covered in them this year, glad you got into some. And always great footage

Question love the videos but type of camera do you prefer to film your hunts that you wear?
I have a GoPro 10
Welcome to Idaho and the best bird year in 30 years!
I’m glad you are witnessing the best our country has to offer.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Eric, what is the brand and model of the camera?
that was a awesome hunt!!! Merry Christmas to you & your family & Tom & family as well...
Thanks Paul, same to you and yours!

Spectacular country...if you haven't walked this stuff, it is hard to appreciate how difficult it is to get these sorts of situations.
So true 👊

We have a lot of development too but we still have vast public lands to hunt. We are very fortunate.
Once people show up the chukar disappear. We've seen it in the lower columbia. If the mountain bikers are riding your hunting spot, you're hosed.
Gotta love nevada@@ericforrester1

Great video, wonderful dog work. How many shells do you have to carry?
On these hunt’s I usually carry a full box.

Lots of western states don’t require plug for upland.
Remind me what shell, what size shot, and choke you are using?
what an amazing video great dog work good shooting we appreciate your work
With your years of hunting what is the best boot that you’ve used that is water proof and light weight?
Awesome hunt
Congratulations Eric a great day, great flocks of chukas, good hunting season, greetings👋🏼
Awesome video! Out of curiosity, do you ever run into or worry about rattlesnakes when traversing that terrain?
No because I only hunt these places after it’s cold and they den up.
Замечательная охота! Какое ружьë у тебя и какой чок вкручен?
Thanks. Benelli Ethos improved cylinder
Riggs fired you for that un loaded gun lol

Grande video. No minuto 25, quando atira á primeira perdiz que começa a subir, essa acabou por morrer. Belas paisagens e belos cães.

Hi! Eric, in what region do YOU Hunt chukar?
Lower 48
What size shot r u useing?
6
Your shooting is on point. Minus that big flock shot but we all do that lol

@@robertday8102 depends on the State regulations.. some states have no shell limit for upland birds
Great video as usual!!! But I’m older ,I need to hunt in easier terrain, like your last video! Lol
My word that's some rugged country.
