I believe I heard him say "30 years" for the design of this stadium. Meaning you expect us to pay for ANOTHER one 30 years from now? No. This should be designed to last FIFTY years. That is not difficult to do. The old one was built in 1972. Modified twice, but I think it's fair to expect improvements in both design and build quality considering 50 years has gone by.
Call me when they actually start building, until then I don't believe this is getting built. If all the artist renderings of stuff that was supposed to be built in Buffalo ever happened this would be one glorious city. Nothing ever gets done and that's why this city is stuck in the 1970s. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another big mistake not having it downtown with a retractable roof hosting year round events & a superbowl which we now will be missing out on, not to mention all the businesses & Hotels that would follow which won't be in Orchard park, was also a huge mistake not originally putting Amherst UB campus Downtown smh
Agree. This is a complete and utter economic mistake. Put a retractable roof on it and you'll draw year round events and at least be in the running for a SB. Infrastructure would come to support that.

It was all looked at thoroughly. We've had pretty good crowd turnouts recently, but I do remember those blackout days...
Quite shortsighted to build this thing without a dome or at least a retractable roof. There is no home field advantage when both teams are negatively impacted by weather. (See Bills v Pats 2021) Also, no dome, virtually guarantees Buffalo will never host a Superbowl or reap any economic infusion. WTAF?
That's one game. An exception, not the rule. I don't think spending billions to overcome the issues of the occasional game would be financially prudent. Same goes for the occasional SB that might in all honesty happen once or twice when there potentially 31 other teams that either have stadiums or will have stadiums worthy of a SB. Football is an outdoor game. Indoor stadiums are lame. As someone who grew up going to games in Buffalo, the weather is half the fun.

It needs a dome!!!!!!! No dome, less attendance!!!!! NO SUPERBOWL
It needs a dome!
Omfg Man if Josh Allen got to play in a dome bro...homie would throw for like 6,000 yards and like 60 TDs lmao
I'm suggesting a name for the future Buffalo Bills stadium...it will be named "Wegmans Stadium" after a prominent supermarket chain based in upstate New York!
So no dome?🤨
Right-o! The Bills don't need a damn dome! 🤨
Will they(Bills)guarantee that if I purchase a seat I can sit down and see the game OR will I have to stand the entire time?
You will have to Stand.
I don't mind, myself
Seriously, FOOTBALL ONLY!!!!!! No offense Buffalonians, but you guys could really use the extra income a closed or retractable roof brings!!!! I’m a Giants fan, and the Mara’s and Tisch’s should have tried to put a roof. Retractable if possible. Although we are on ALOT of marshland, and swamp down here in the NYC/NJ area. So maybe that might not have been structurally feasible. But it still would do wonders economically for anybody.
IS DRABOLL TRYING TO HURT BILLS BY TRADING WR TO KC?
I'm a ironworker in VA an I'm a bills fan have been sense the Jim Kelly years an Thurman Thomas an reed an etc , wonder if it's Gina be union love to be on the job
Miami has opponents in the sun.. what's our awsome advantage?
Nothing considering both teams have to play in the cold and possibly snow.
Really hope this stadium has actual urinals and enough bathrooms, Highmark is the worst when it comes to restrooms
toilets in some areas are literally like old prison toilets
Honestly this is the cheapest possible new stadium. In orchard park not downtown. No dome….But I’m happy we’re staying here
How is this the "cheapest possible" stadium? The cost is obscene.
@@mikephalen3162 "The cost is obscene." ....do not forget that when the famine kicks in, and people are starving to death BY THE 10'S OF MILLIONS! This stadium will stand empty and rot into the Earth, ...if we even make it long enough to "break ground".
@@mikephalen3162 I’m saying we did it the cheapest possible way. Built it in OP decided not to have a dome .. it’s still 1.4 B because that’s the going rate on a new stadium
Good luck affording seats.
You think maybe that's why it's only going to be a 60,000 seat stadium ?? Obviously Buffalo is a small market hoping to sell season tickets to cooperations that are willing to pay high prices for season tickets blocks at a time ? It wouldn't surprise me if 25 % is sold to companies
I believe I heard him say "30 years" for the design of this stadium. Meaning you expect us to pay for ANOTHER one 30 years from now? No. This should be designed to last FIFTY years. That is not difficult to do. The old one was built in 1972. Modified twice, but I think it's fair to expect improvements in both design and build quality considering 50 years has gone by.
ok Debbie downer
@@chetthebee1322 the way the infrastructure would change & the hotels that would follow would definitely allow it but moot point now
Agree. This is a complete and utter economic mistake. Put a retractable roof on it and you'll draw year round events and at least be in the running for a SB. Infrastructure would come to support that.
@@jcZo23 The NFL requires enough hotel rooms in a 60 mile radius equal to 35% of the seating capacity of the stadium hosting the game. That 's more than double the number of hotel rooms available today. Nobody is going to build that many more hotels for a single event to have them sit mostly empty all the time.
@@Beechsack which would've followed with a new stadium down there
It was all looked at thoroughly. It takes a lot more than to say " build a dome, we get Superbowl"...the one thing I don't like is the lower capacity, but apparently it links to TV broadcasts and the risk of local viewer blackouts. We've had pretty good crowd turnouts recently, but I do remember those blackout days...
If its not in downtown buffalo it won’t be BUFFALO!
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Quite shortsighted to build this thing without a dome or at least a retractable roof. There is no home field advantage when both teams are negatively impacted by weather. (See Bills v Pats 2021) Also, no dome, virtually guarantees Buffalo will never host a Superbowl or reap any economic infusion. WTAF?
No dome not smart
That's one game. An exception, not the rule. I don't think spending billions to overcome the issues of the occasional game would be financially prudent. Same goes for the occasional SB that might in all honesty happen once or twice when there potentially 31 other teams that either have stadiums or will have stadiums worthy of a SB.
Football is an outdoor game. Indoor stadiums are lame. As someone who grew up going to games in Buffalo, the weather is half the fun.
yeah I grew up in buffalo and I think its so dumb to not have a dome there is literally no downside
@@theking2449 domes are expensive. The more the stadium costs, the more tickets cost.
Did you watch the Miami game? Home field advantage is a real thing, why give any part of that advantage away?
@@NomadPoker1 yeah it would cost more but they would be able to host more events and the dome or retractable roof would allow for more versatility which may offset the cost plus we have one of the windiest cities so it would be a benefit for our players also
So many whiners in here crying about it having no roof. You're not getting a dome, folks - simple as that. Lol. Accept it or don't, 'tis what it is.
Just not needed in our troubled world. It’s just football…
Like it. Would prefer a retractable roof. It's the 21st century. NFL football is king and should be covered and comfortable for y best game possible.
NO PUT A ROOF ON TOP!!!!!!
NO!!!!!!
Can’t afford a roof?
pegula's get a 1.5 billion dollar donation from the taxpayers and the team will be rebuilding before this is even built...then the pegula's will sell the team and that 1.5 billion becomes profit for them as they bail on the bills/sabres
“Overall, Forbes lists Pegula’s estimated net worth at 6.7 Billion. That’s a 17.5% increase his net worth from last years list”
“In 2014, Pegula purchased the Bills for 1.4 billion dollars. Per Forbes, the team is worth 3.5 billion now”
“… the Bills will get a record $850 million from public funds”
Why not just put a roof on that can open and close?
