Well, this case screams, (I’m caution cone orange therefore…very expensive merchandise within. Please don’t steal me.) lol I suppose if Elon had multi thousand dollar pens, it would be useful. But you gotta hand it to them, NFP is definitely covering the needs of all pen users!
If Armageddon was approaching, this is the case would want! It is certainly much better than pen boxes. It would be perfect for instances such as moving from your home. That you can attach locks is also a nice idea. It is not something I would place on my bookcase to displayy collection. I think I will stay with my pen trays for that. Thank you for the review.
It looks like the feet on the bottom and the top are different to make them mate with each other when stacking multiple cases. On the off chance you need multiple bombproof pen cases...
The case looks fantastic! The problem is that it's simply too expensive at more than $400. Users would be better served just buying a Nanuk case and then having appropriate trays 3d-printed to fit.
I hear you about the cost. Yet your suggestion is totally impractical. Who can, or is willing to try, to sell a Nanuk case with three perfectly fitted, securely held 3d printed trays together with perfectly made, soft-lined inserts to immobilize 30 fountain pens for less money? If you know or you can, tell Figboot! Or make them, and send a sample to him to review.🥰 P.S. Based solely on the reviewers (and reviews from several retailers) I enjoy watching, the cost of the NFP case is less than two fountain pens they normally feature or sell. 🥴 Or less than a single Pelikan M600 (and much less than a single M800; and much much less than a single M1000!). So for big-time fountain pen owners, this is cheap, looks great in a nice selection of colors, and is portable. Not for me, but heck. The majority of the pens reviewed here are "too expensive." Still, I enjoy watching Figboot review them.
@@user-br3sl9go3b The Nanuk case would be ideal, so if someone could get foam trays in the proper dimension 3d printed, the cost would be 1/3 of the asking price from NFP. Maybe someone could re-purpose a cheaper tray from a different source and use that as a model or cut it to size to fit the Nanuk. Nanuk produces the best, most durable cases in the industry.
@@JMaxwell1000 But Nanuk does not produce cases tailored for the "fountain pen industry." But yes, it would be ideal: if someone did; and if the cost would be less. but no one does. 🥴 By the way: if someone reproduces expensive fountain pens at 1/3 their price, the NFP case would be well worth its cost to hold them!
Security is its utmost purpose but the design, at least for me, lacks a graceful flow. Bass wood is a favorite material encouraging one to run a finger, a hand to it. As its parameters accommodate larger pens, I applaud the versatility. What a magnificent collection you have.
That’s some case. I could see it being useful if I were a double-o secret agent carrying explosives disguised as pens, but I’m not, so for me this cares word be over-kill. But it was interesting to see it.
@konradyearwood5845 there is also a case called "Nanuk" made in Canada that has foam in it similar to pelican that often goes on sale for Black Friday. I have one of their cases for a couple of precision measuring tools at work. I bought one with the basic pick-foam. (I keep 2 digital measuring in this case because the cases they come in have zero (0) padding. I don't understand these manufacturers charge hundreds of dollars for a precision tool and don't have any padding in the case. )
Overkill? Yes, exactly the same way fountain pens with steel Jowo, Bock, or Schmidt nibs, plastic feeds, and off-the-shelf converter/pistons that cost more than US$100 are interesting.
Very expensive for what it is. You can get a similar sized Peli case for a quarter of the price, then some foam inserts, and cut out the shapes you want. Total cost will still be under half.
If they sold the inserts alone that would be great for one of my gun cases. Plus, they could have a few cut outs on the top for maybe a compartment for ink bottles or cartridges: pr even be able to flip down the top foam to store a notebook.
Pen Battle Box, orange flight, boat. Green for exploration, black for secret servics. White for artic (literally dont take it there) and Yellow, road trip.
The orange case would be great for transporting to pen shows.
Nice! Such a unique case!
Sweet review! Sharing this with the DC Crew because protective hard cases came up in a recent Zoom discussion.

Very nice products.
I picked up a 40 pen box from NFP after your last video and I really love it.
Maybe especially for Pelikan pens...
Pelican fan here too 🤣
So it's a Pelican case with a special insert, for an insane price.
Agree. Totally over priced.

Yep, that's what I was thinking too.

Pick foam in a Nanuk or Pelican case would be adequate.
@@jacobus57 At that point, it isn't like-for-like, though.

For when you need to transport for your fountain pen collection to the front line

I had a similar thought of James Bond carrying his mini missiles. 🤣 If you got a Peli case you could do the foam cut outs yourself.
