first 2 weeks of this month were the best sales period in this Q4 for me. If you look at promoted impressions it should show a drop off over the last week as last minute xmas buyers think its unlikely anything they buy will arrive before xmas.
yeah I was the same, best was first 2 weeks of December if not September into October period. I was expecting a slow down as close as week are to Xmas now. But this was recorded during early December just off the back of Black Friday and Novembers sales. It’s always up and down for sure, I’m not on holiday mode for Xmas and will be building up my draft bank ready for the new year 🥳🍾🥂 might even stick a cheeky Boxing Day coupon / sale on too 😉
@@BoyziesToys Oooooo very nice indeed! I’m glad you had a nice influx, my busiest day of the year was in March 🤷♂️😅 December defo hasn’t performed like I’d expected it to
Soo I never used to offer free shipping, and then I made changes to my store to do everything eBay was asking for to see if it would increase my sales. Free postage, free returns etc. I’d say it felt like I got a boost at first. And since then has balanced itself out. I generally offer free postage on clothing and then add a postage fee to the buyer for hard goods. But yeah, I just bake the cost of the postage into the sale of the item. I find having the “free in 3” days postage badge on the clothing listings really helps 👌
Never noticed that with the shop fee. It usually just comes out of our bank after a while. We switched our shop on holiday and woke up to five sales this morning !
@@thats_flipping_retro Weird, I’ve never had it charged to my bank, always eBay funds and then it tends to force sales to cover it within hours 😅 I’m not complaining as sales are sales, but it feels like a switch gets turned on and off 🤣

Drop in sales is bound to happen now.. postage will be delayed due to Christmas and the customer knows this.. Boxing day forward will see normal sales expecially as people will be off work sitting at home. My ebay store has slowed since last week no worries.
@@MrLetExplore 100% agree, although the postage situation this year doesn’t seem anywhere near as bad as previous years. It used to clog up at the start of December but seems to just be limited to Xmas period now 👌 Will you be offering a Boxing Day discount? Coupon? Markdown sale? 🤔
No, I don't tend to offer markdowns just decrease price on items listed for a while in general. Anything that takes a long time to sell I.e 3-6 months I auction off starting at a price I'd be happy with as a minimum.
@ Nice that’s defo a good strategy that helps to keep ontop of your stockflow. I’ve been trying to take part in “sale periods” that fall into the year like Black Friday, Halloween sale, Xmas sale, Boeing day sale, new year sale or coupons. But just leaning into the promotion of these times and have seen some good success with it. While also doing the same thing as yourself. Just trying to give more opportunities to get things sold
Always open to conspiracy talk and I think it’s fair to say any platform as big as eBay or that uses algorithms and so on can all play god within the realms that they have created. @@TommyTrades96 no difference with sales, just not unnecessarily giving ebay extra money. I have a great suspicion of the auctions recently. Something seems very odd with the bidding process. I hate being taken for a mug.
