The group I knew of didn’t ignore Galatians or Romans, but completely reinterpreted them. When I reread them for myself, I had to come out of the Hebrew Roots movement. Unfortunately I ended up in the Word of Faith, but now I’m free of that too! Amen.

I can't believe that I've spent this whole past year and a half getting to know who God is and what Jesus has done and still does for me, without your influence. I am completely grateful for you. I thank your family for giving you up to studies and time and effort. I thank God for filling you with desire to bring your knowledge to the world. I thank God for UA-cam and internet otherwise I would not have found you! The wisdom you exude is truly biblical and in a world like this where feelings are looked at more than truth... we need you Mike. You're running an amazing race. I so so thank God for you. Never stop preaching brother. You're the definition of "calling to ministry". I hope my words encourage you and don't seem boastful except for to boast in God who guides you. Happy to be part of your family and I'm excited at what I can learn from you as you truly fully use whole scripture teachings. Thank you for your service to Christ. And to us. Be blessed brother. Your discipline is something to look up to.

Salvation is freely given ‘Graciously’ by God through the Blood of Jesus/Yeshua’s Sacrifice. Now that we are saved, how do we walk? The entire Bible instructs us in our walk. Start reading at the beginning and keep reading till the end. Then start over... Remember to let God speak through His Word to you and do not be swayed by the teachings of men...
    God bless your walk...
    Shalom...🙏🏻

Gotta say, pastor Mike, this was fire. I have had some friends that have joined a Torah only movement and still wanting to accept Jesus, but what they shared never seemed to jive with me or make all that sense. Although I had gone over so many of these passages on my own, going over them again just reinforces and reminds me that I am under Christ and his grace, not the law. I thank God for the law, but notice that it is not my weight to carry. Thank you for shedding light to things like this and I continue to listen in on all the great teachings that you have. May God continue to bless you and use you for His glory. Amen!

"He puts His law inside of us and we walk in the spirit"= if we walk in the spirit we keep the law, if the law is inside of us we are not under it, the covenant is new, the law is eternal, the law of love, judgement is by the law, there is no confusion in God. Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

This was wonderful. I have met a few Christians who do not believe the OT is of no importance. I was always shocked but did not know what to say. I must say this is amazing to help Christians understand rules versus living by the spirit and how GOD knows how to help us with both. You need the entire bible to understand it all.

Thank you so much for this series. I have come across videos on UA-cam with this movement called Hebrew roots (they don’t openly claim this but say they are followers of Jesus) where we are saved but live under the Torah. It confused me very much and I realize it i was deceived into thinking everything I knew about the blood of Christ was not enough. This and your other videos have really encouraged me to search the scriptures and learn about Gods character through His word . Thank you

The son is no longer under the temporary supervision of schoolmaster/tutor. When we are saved, we are no longer under the tutor because we have learned our lesson well--we need a saviour. Now that he is no longer a child--he keeps God's commands without the threat of a master/tutor. The analogy breaks down when you say the child grows up, is no longer under the tutor and can now disobey and reject everything his father had him learn!

Maria, Mike is leading you astray. He literally teaches people that EVIL (profaning the Sabbath) and ABOMINATIONS (eating the flesh of scavengers) are now somehow an acceptable practice for them to do. Think about that.
Nehemiah 13:17B NRSV "What is this evil thing that you are doing, profaning the sabbath day?
Leviticus 20:25-26 NRSV (25) You shall therefore make a distinction between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean; you shall not bring abomination on yourselves by animal or by bird or by anything with which the ground teems, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean. (26) You shall be holy to me; for I the LORD am holy, and I have separated you from the other peoples to be mine.
Please consider watching some of our videos. We have two (thus far) which directly expose Mike's false teachings. (Video 9 & Video 13)
1 Thessalonians 5:21 NKJV (21) Test all things; hold fast what is good.

This is THE BEST analysis and explanation I have ever heard. It has bothered me that those with whom I most agree (the law is good but we are not under it) usually divide the law arbitrarily into civil, ceremonial, and moral. But the idea here is morals precede the law, the entire law was for national Israel and included moral law, the moral laws are reiterated in the NT, with Sabbath clearly identified in all three cases as not a moral issue. Similar to Mike’s work on the origins of the NT, with the councils clarifying what was already identified as canon, not doing the actual canonizing.

It's very clear that so many are completely misunderstanding the Bible. The Law still applies...we just aren't saved by following it. Grace is a gift, but if we don't obey God, we're trampling on that gift. We will all still sin and fall short, but that is the reason for the Grace.

Love Mikes analysis. Here’s an example: Law: infectious disease goes before the priest for diagnosis and quarantine, follow up appointments, and if to be declared unclean. Principle: Quarantine was for the infectious only, checking every 7 days, and then if a long-term infectious disease detected (3rd check up), they (the infectious) were commanded to cover their face and social distance. (Because really, that’s exactly what crying ‘unclean’ would result in.) Also, the Bible was the first to teach hand washing. :)

I am so glad I came upon these lessons. Im curious his defining distinction of us being "not under the law"; the "not under" is where I stumble. As I understand the work of the HolySpirit, He is helping me live a righteous life; living like Jesus who followed the law- which means I try to avoid sinning. And I know the sin by looking back to the law. So works are happening to bring me through sanctification, though I understand these works inspired by the HS will not save me but are bringing me closer to Love, Faith and Trust in the Lord. Am I understanding this correctly? This is the convicted understanding formed in me since starting my walk with Jesus.

Jesus said you will know his followers because they will bear good fruit. Fruit is a byproduct of a relationship with Christ which you can only have through faith. What you truely believe will be shown in your actions. It becomes the after not the before. The law of Christ is to Love others and we love because He first loved us.
Sounds like your on the right track

This is the reason why I left the SDA church plus the interpretation of the scriptures by Ellen White. I believe that only we should read the word of God and it is clear that keeping the Sabbath won’t save us and I doubt that the mark of the beast is Sunday. There is no way that by our own merits we can be saved, that’s why we needed a savior, only through Him we can be perfected. It doesn’t mean that we should ignore the law because faith without works is dead like James stated. Jesus died for our sins, we need to ask for forgiveness and to imitate him, but only the Holy Spirit will lead us in a life of obedience! For it is impossible for us to live perfect lives because of our sinful nature. But through God everything is possible!!!

Mike, good work. I have a question. Since we are saved from the punishment of our sins by Grace through faith and not of works that any man should boast, that Christ was crucified on the tree for our sins, and gives to us freely in His grace forgiveness of our sins and the gift of eternal life, exchanging our sinfulness for his righteousness, and according to your reasoning these sins are not from disobeying the law of Moses. What are these sins or ours from? What are these sins and how do we know what they are if our teacher (the law of Moses) is abolished? To say they are sins committed against the law of God present prior to the law of Moses and then give only one example, i.e. do not eat blood, lacks clarity and seems rather open to confusion. Please provide some clarity as to which of the laws of God can be found in the Bible prior to the law of Moses. Blessings and Godspeed.

When James talks about faith without works, the works God is looking for are described in the law. Jesus said, if you love me keep my commandments. It's not about salvation. It's about understanding the law to better understand how we are to show love to our neighbors.
The law is for us to show us how to behave in a Godly way. It is not for others to judge them by.
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 7:21
How do we know the will of God? It's all in the law. People who claim to have a relationship with God but refuse to do his Will are being dishonest. It's not about salvation, it's a response to salvation to want to know how to serve God and our neighbors.

Getting angry, struggle with porn addiction, lust of the mind and heart, not helping someone else when given the opportunity, and many other things that may seem small but in the end are manifest from the flesh) am I condemned?

    • @friedrichrubinstein2346
      @friedrichrubinstein2346 2 роки тому +4

There is a difference between sinning (the act of committing a sin) and living in sin (sinful lifestyle). A born-again Christian (a saved one) will still stumble from time to time, but he will not have sinful *habits.*
Someone once put it like this: _Before we were born-again we sinned on a schedule. After we are born-again sinning is like a train accident._
If there is a habitual sin in your life please ask Jesus to free you from its bondage. 2Tim 2:22 says *"Flee the evil desires of youth"* and we actively need to do that, but only with Jesus' help you will be successful. May God be gracious towards you and give you the necessary strength.

I have a question. You mentioned Paul in Corinthians advising that the man in the congregation be disfellowshipped until he repents, then he could be allowed back in. Raised a jw, this is exactly what they do. Does this then give the witnesses a right of passage to disfellowship members for committing sins?

    • @friedrichrubinstein2346

They shouldn't disfellowship members for _committing a sin_ but for _living in sin_ (a permanent or habitual sin, like the example Paul mentions). Doing this does not legitimize the other teachings of YW though. They're still an unbiblical cult.

The law written on our hearts is *God's will!* What is God's will? You could summarize it with Jesus words: "Love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbour as yourself". That's it, that's all.
As a Christian who has God's Spirit inside you you learn to pay close attention to your conscience. When you have a bad conscience thinking about doing something, don't do it. If you have a clear conscience thinking about doing something, it's fine to do it. That's how you're being led by the Holy Spirit. And you will notice that it effectively is exactly that: making God the first priority in your life and treating others as you want to be treated yourself. It becomes natural to you.

This verse is actually speaking of how one man judges (NOT "esteems") day by day on whether or not he should eat meat - because he is concerned that it may have been sacrificed to an idol. Whereas, another man, judges each day the same - because he is NOT concerned about eating meat sacrificed to an idol. (See 1 Corinthians chapters 8-10 to properly understand Romans 14!)_*

The law that's "written on our heart" (Jeremiah 31:33; Hebrews 8:10) could be summarized by Jesus' words: "Love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and your neighbour as yourself". Christians don't murder - not because the 10 commandments say so but because it is not loving. Christians don't serve other Gods - not because the 10 commandments say so but because it's not loving God with everything we have.
The only command of the 10 that is explicitely retired in the New Testament is the 4th. See Colossians 2:16 and Hebrews chapter 4.

JohmJohn Bennett Calvin isn't God. We use the districtions of Law to teach principles and morality, but the authority comes from God as to what is in the Law. The new Law is the Law of Christ or the Royal Law. The 10 commandments are a teaching aid, but are not binding today. 9 of the 10 commandments are similar in The New Covenant, but no. 4 is left out (Sabbath), yet the Sabbath is a good principle to follow. A case can be made for some pre Mosaic practices that are found in Scripture: Sacrifices, Sabbath, Dietary requirements; but none of these things were outlined in The New Testament for a reason. Matthew 1 to Revelation 22 is the New Law.

John Bennett, can you (or anyone else reading this) show me where in scripture where God uses the terms "moral law", "civil law", etc? I can't find any place God makes distinctions between parts of the Torah and other parts......seems He treats it as one thing. If we can not find any clear scriptural passage showing what constitutes moral law vs ceremonial law, how can we make that distinction on our own. It seems pretty important if we are throwing out direct commands from God under the banner of Grace. To be clear, I am not a legalist, but I just cannot find any scriptural basis for mankind to divide and discard parts of God's Law.

    • @mrfeetup

John Bennett, you did use the term moral law....doesn't all of the Law represent His sense of morality? (What I mean is, would any part of the Torah go against His morality?) Not sure where you are going with the women taking communion comment.....scripture doesn't say women aren't permitted either. However, scripture DOES say the following (I am paraphrasing for breivity):
      Psalm 119:160
      All your words are true;
All of your righteous laws are eternal
      Ecclesiates 12:13-14
Keeping God's commandments is the duty of ALL mankind (not just Israel)
      1John 3:4
Sin is defined as transgression of the law
      John 7:16 and John 8:28-29
Jesus did not teach something new but only what the Father taught, same as the front of the book. (If you believe in the Trinity, this should not be a controversial thing)
      John 14:15
If you love me, keep my commandments
      1John 2:3-4
Obeying God's commandments is how we know Him (and love Him, John 14:21), if we say we know God but do not keep His commandments, we are a liar and the truth is not in us
I could go on and on.......these verses are definitely in the Bible yet what I do NOT see, is any instruction on how to breakdown the law into sub sets or how to distill a moral teaching out of the law that gets to the essence of what God wants without being held to the specific clear commands God has given. Neither does it give permission to discard any of it.
      Deuteronomy 4:2
You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
God bless you and have a great day! -Ted

John Bennett, I understand the purpose and importance of inference in reading scripture but I hold any inference I have against the validity of the rest of what scripture plainly states. Jehovah's Witnesses infer that Jesus is really Michael the Archangel but there is enough clear scripture to refute this. Likewise, if you are inferring that we no longer are required to observe the Law as was given, how do you reconcile that position with the vast amount of scripture that says the contrary? I listed a small portion of the scripture that says the law is eternal, applicable to all mankind and sin is defined as the transgression of the law. I assume you do not think sin is permissible even under grace. I don't mean to argue or drag this out but I just see clear scripture arguing for the law and only inference to argue for stopping the oberservance. Could this inference be wrong?
