The kick padding is a genius addition
I bought the newest expansion as soons as i saw the video about it, it has some great sounds in it once again. I have all the expansions and i must say ML Drums is getting pretty extensive in its selection of sounds, which is great!
One thing that i feel is still missing is a big ride (21"/22") that *isn't* a pingy, heavy rock ride *nor* a dark, super washy, highly crashable ride, but something in between... I'm thinking something in the vein of Zildjian A Medium Ride, Paiste 2002 Classic Ride, Paiste Formula 602 Modern Essentials, and what have you...😏
@@BrendonKPadjasek There's so much variety and we've been experimenting with it a lot. I really like the woofer one because it's got a smooth punch and some sustain too. It may not be the fastest kick but I don't really do fast kicks in my music anyways. :)
@@seitsen We will have a look! They tend to make rides thicker with size but I know some vintage huge rides made thinner that are so amazing that they likely need even more articulations to capture all of it. Oh and they ring forever. :D
@@mlsoundlab Sure, a bit heftier weight isn't bad! As long as it's not a pingy heavy ride nor a super washy thin ride. 🙂
And btw, i do like the pingy heavy rides in ML Drums for metal applications, and the M Byz Dark in its complex washiness is nice for lighter applications. The new Z K-Yamz is good but i just it was bigger

I just picked up their mega pack a couple of days ago (rent to own) and have not started checking out the drums but I will def be wanting to check this out since Kontakt player ones like the M&M I use sound amazing but it's super annoying that I have to create custom mapping for everything I do...

Seriously ML drums sound amazing. The only thing that might be better is Superior drums for like $600 and if they are better, it’s by a very small margin.

I swear it was harder to find the link now when the new youtube layout is this awful. Really nice to have the yamaha RC kit in it. Bought it so that i can replace my yamaha RC recordings with samples from an RC kit. 😂
These are cool as a writing tool and creating the demo track. A sound will make you play a certain way. I would still use real drums for the final recording. Just my two cents personally.
From a purely sound point of view these will absolutely cut it in a professional final production too, but recording real drums is its own thing, of course.
