      This has nothing to do with any valvetrain issue. This is an oil catch can kit for the PCV system.

    Must drive on only new roads. That can is hanging from a fairly long mounting bracket. Lots of flex and bounce. Don't see the bracket holding up too long. I give it two years. I could be wrong. But I am a believer in catch cans especially in diesel and DIE.

    • @uprproducts
      @uprproducts  6 місяців тому

      The bracket design and thickness has no trouble even in off-road applications as we have run this design with extremely good performance and no issues with the mounting system. Agreed, catch cans on all gas engines have proven to be a very beneficial addition to ensure engine longevity/performance. They also extend servicing of tune-up parts as they keep the internals and plugs very clean on gas and diesel, they reduce the majority of oil that gets sucked through the charge pipes and intercooler, eliminating shuttering.

    this is one of the only systems iv seen that actually makes sense on how i can see the pcv system works. question though, could u not just connect the 2 intake box fittings with a tee, then run both to the can with the check valve instead of using the oil filler thing to make the system cheaper?

    wait, the hoses going from airbox to valve cover, do those not have a check valve? cause if not that will for sure put oil into ur intake and the catch can is only solving half the issue

    • @uprproducts
      @uprproducts  6 місяців тому

      Those connections are what feed the engine fresh air to allow the PCV to function properly. The check valves are not required unless you have a boosted engine or tired engine with a lot of blow-by.

    So since this has the connection going back to the oil fill....does the oil that comes out of the PCV go back into the oil fill?

    • @uprproducts
      @uprproducts  2 роки тому +1

      No. The crossover tube that connects the valve covers allows the oil fill adapter to work as the ‘clean side’ inlet for the PCV system. Intake manifold vacuum is applied to the lifter valley by the PCV tube. This vacuum is used to pull crankcase fumes out of the crankcase and as a result, it draws air into the crankcase through the clean side to flush it out.

    Hello, can I use the catch can for the "pro charger system" in a no pro charger system?, because this Cath can has two connections one in the top and the other one in the side, however the catch can used for a "normal" system both of the connections are on the side of the Cath can.

    • @uprproducts
      @uprproducts  3 роки тому

      SUpercharged Catch Can systems require the UPR Dual Valve design where it will have 3 ports with 1 dirty side port and 2 clean side ports. This is to be able to stop boost from pressurizing the catch can system that happens with a normal Single Valve Catch Can system. If so good, why doesnt GM design and install one as OEM?

    • @uprproducts
      @uprproducts  3 роки тому

      The OEM will not add anything that requires any additional MAINTENANCE or SERVICING and that is why the PCV system was adopted. They don't care if it reduces MPG 5 to 10 percent as the vacuum from the PCV system gives more benefit overall than the loss. Also, the PCV system causes engines to have more frequent tune-ups, and being a big part of service for car dealers it would reduce the perfect system they built. Basically like a printer with ink, they have no reason to develop a system that will extend copies or reduce the frequency of having to buy ink. Lastly, let's not forget the additional cost that would now be added to every engine and new production for a product they already have a so-called solution for.
      The PCV systems will always ingest/suck oil in the combustion chamber from the strong vacuum source from the intake manifold. This design will always require a properly designed catch can system with multiple stages and diffusers to properly coalesce the oil getting sucked through in a vapor form. UPr made sure to make a So Good catch can system to achieve that and be able to return as much oil-free clean air as possible to extend tune-up life and overall performance and longevity. Joe@UPR

    • @reruddock
      @reruddock 2 роки тому

      I think the main reason manufacturers don't add oil catch cans is due to many vehicle owners neglecting maintenance. Just look at how many don't replace their oil for 10s of thousands of miles. Or how they'll drive around on bald tires. If a catch can goes unchecked and undrained for too long, over time so much oil and sludge will accumulate and a large amount will eventually be sucked up into the intake manifold. That could then be devastating to an engine as you'll risk hydrolock.

    Does this void warranty?

    • @uprproducts
      @uprproducts  3 роки тому

      We have never heard of any warranty issues from having a catch can installed. I always prefer to remove the catch can if possible. Most importantly remember to tell any asking that these are very complex oil separators and maintain 100% of the OEM PCV function only with a UPR Multi-Stage Oil Oil Separator to stop the PCV from sucking all the oil into your intake and killing performance and longevity. on a daily driver 5.3 is the standard catch ok or do I need the css? bone stock tahoe

    • @uprproducts
      @uprproducts  Рік тому +1

      For the 5.3 and 6.2, if it's just a daily driver and no towing or off-roading, you can get the kit without the CSS. If you tow, haul, or off-road, then you should have the kit with the CSS to capture anything while the vehicle is under load or towing, as that's when the engine has a bit more load on it, and the CSS will capture any oil trying to sneak through. I added the kits below that are best for 5.3 and 6.2 engines depending on vehicle demand/usage.
      Every drop of oil you stop will allow you vehicle to run cleaner and more efficient throughout the range and tune-ups and overall engine maintenance will be reduced. This also extends spark plug life as well which equals PERFORMANCE.
      This is the best kit without the CSS for the 5.3 engines:
