Thank you for making it clear & simple for such a beginner as myself.
I needed this. A vintage pattern said I needed to sew three loops for the buttons and it didn’t say how! Life saver. Simple and clear!
Glad it helped! 🙂
This video of yours is SO much better than other ones I've watched on this subject. It's easier to keep the loop sized just right and also easier to tie the knots without having a bunch of threads under your hand to contend with. MANY thanks!!!
I'm so glad you liked it!
This is such a helpful video. Thank you so much!
This is fantastic - just what I was looking for to add to a very low cut beach top. The loops are perfect for lacing in ribbon and saving my modesty! Thank you.
Thank you. My mom taught me many moons ago and I needed to watch your video to see the one step I forgot.Thank you again as these dish cloths come without loops.
I'm so glad it was helpful!
Thank you! I used to make and put these on wedding dresses in the 90’s! You did it sew 🪡 perfectly!! Haha 💕
Thank you so much!

I am so glad I found this video. I’m happy I didn’t follow the directions from the pattern I was using. Your method is so much more professional looking.
Great video! And this was definitely a vintage garment - I made a dress out of white birdseye pique in 1971, as my "going away" dress after my wedding.
This just saved my life, thank you so much!
Yay! I'm so glad!
This was extremely helpful. Thanks for posting!
You're very welcome! Glad it was helpful!
This may be two years ago, but I'd still like to leave my "thank you" here. Now I know how to make a thread loop! I had fun doing this. :D
Subscribed, fam~

Very clear instructions; thank you!
Thank you! I've been looking for a way to add hanging loops to our hoodies and jackets. Worked like a charm!
Wow! Impressive!

Easy and attractive method! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this video :)
Brilliant! That is definitely looks simple enough to do. This is just what I was looking for, having only just finished a blouse that needs a loop at the top of my blouse. Thank you :)
I cant wait to try this technique! Thank you!

The best and easiest ever tutorial!
Wow - thank you so much!
Thank you so much. My first one and it turned out perfectly thanks to you!
Love this way
I'm all set! I've used a paper clip, and it works great!!
Glad you found a solution! :-) Very clever!
Thank you for this video, that is so much easier and quicker than inserting those darn elastic loops, that always look horrible. I remember someone saying they used to use this technique in a lot of high end garments and still do in some instances.
You're welcome!
I was sweating over how I would do this. You make it look so easy I believe even I can do this. Mahalo.
Glad you liked it!
Same here! The pattern I used to make my daughter's dress just said to make a button loop, and I was panicking a little lol!

My mom used to do that. I’m so happy I find the way to do it. I only remember was a loop thread but not remember how she did it. Thank you so much for your help !
I'm so glad I was able to help!

Beautiful
Thank you very much.
Hermoso ,felicitaciones
Thank you
Did you use Embroidery Floss instead of Thread? Looks like bees wax on the floss for it to keep smooth and cooperative and maybe 2 strands of floss? It would be lovely for you to mention those little things for us newbys. It was beautiful to watch and a beautiful sew. Thank you!
Thank you!
Спасибо, что показали как делать такую петельку. 😊👏👏👏👏
ok wow, this was so easy and quick!
Thanks
Excellent demonstration and fantastic camera work!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you think so. :)
@@SewVintagely I also appreciate the written instructions.
@@pennyguiberteau5343 Good to know! Thanks!
Nice thanks
I'm going to try it. I'm wondering if the loss made in that way, just sort of held together by pinching them in the knot - not actually completely * through* a lopp, will hold, or possibly come unraveled. I hope that made sense, lol. I am going to try it, thank you.
Hi! Yes, it holds. It's like finger crochet, and then you secure it at the end. :)
Great technique! What kind of thread are you using?
It's perle cotton embroidery thread, size 8. :-) Glad you liked the video!
Is the thread you are using just normal thread or is it different? It looks a little thicker than the standard Coats and Clark’s thread I buy. Love the video by the way!
I used Perle cotton embroidery thread, size 8. 🙂 Glad you love the video!
would embroidery floss be thick enough such that we can sew directly without doing the crochet thingy
Give it a try!
Looks easier than it is. Did anyone get a thread loop that looked nice? My doubled threads kept getting entangled and the whole thing looks gnarled, messy, with stray loops from when the doubled thread got messed up. It is a shame as I was really happy with the dress I made but only this finishing touch really lets it down. I suppose it is down to practice. I'd use thicker single thread if I did it again. Pull it through very slowly.
Question: how thick was your thread? Normal weight or extra thick, or several strands? I need to make a loop for a wedding dress bustle. Thanks!
Hi! I used perle cotton embroidery thread size 8. :-)
I am not a sewer by any means. How and what can I replace elastic button loops with? I have a brand new blouse and I can hardly get the elastic button loops over the buttons. The top is so cute, but the elastic button loops are a problem!! Suggestions anyone? Again, I have not sewed more than a button in my lifetime. Thanks!
the caption makes it harder to follow the sewing, i have to keep rewinding, i think speaking aloud instructions better for something you are visually demonstrating.
Just pause the video.
I like talking too.
Thank you. But having to read while watching is hard.
Just pause the video to read, then continue.
