So happy for you. You went home on a very special day to me. My husband had his 2nd transplant, June 1, 2016. Unfortunately, he had complications and passed on Dec 16, 2016. But even though that may be a sad deal, it is the day he became my angel. So the day you left after your transplant....puts a big and congratulatory smile on my face for you! God Bless

I got my kidney transplant done on 28th December 2018 my donor was my brother and i was very grateful to him i was undergoing dialysis for last 4 years and now am so happy that i can live my normal life all thanks to him and my family for their support. A person who goes through only they can understand the pain during that period of time and the happiness after a succesful transplant I am very happy for u and fir ur brother tooo who gave u a whole new life.. @@simranjeet3367 It was 13 years January 11th. I did dialysis for twenty years of my life from 8 years old to 28 years old. Life is great! I am a st grade teacher with a masters degree. I travel all over with my family and friends. I am a homeowner. I am not saying that these things would have happened on dialysis if would have. It is just much easier now. I rather take pills the rest of my llive then do dialysis.
I'm so happy for you and your family. I too am awaiting a living donor Kidney. I have done all of the pre testing to make sure that I am healthy enough for a transplant. So my wife and I have 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. My wife and sister inlaw and 4 other close friends who will all be tested. My brother can not be a donor as he has prostate cancer. I also had prostate cancer but had Radical prostate surgery and now I am cancer free. My brother also had the surgery but his was more advanced and he is not cancer free. I told my Daughters that I would prefer they not donate because they all have small children and I just dont want to put them thru that kind of hardship. Our oldest son is a very busy Chef at a major resort and I dont want him to put his job on the line for me. Our my middle son lives in another state and has a young family and the financial hardship would just be to much for them right now. So my list seems to be getting shorter by the day. So i'm keeping my fingers crossed. God bless and enjoy your 2nd chance..

super kids will pray for you. The operation itself is easier then doing Dialysis or going through the pre transplant testing. On Dec 22 2019 received a Kidney transplant 5 weeks after my husband died of Kidney failure and 5 years being on Dialysis.

To be fair there wasn't that much pain through the whole process. My donor (my brother) was in more pain than I was. My top piece of advice is to ask as many questions as you can. Never think you'll be asking a stupid question, the doctors and nurses love answering your question. You just have to ask them 😊

recently my transplant is done only three weeks ago suggest me some tips what can eat and how much water drink a day and some more experience share which is good and important
Congratulations my friend! How are you feeling today?? I would say drink only water, no fizzy drinks or alcohol. Try drinking 3L a day. And I recommend you have a vegetarian diet with lots of beans, pulses, lentils and rice. Stay away from sugar in chocolate and sweets and try to exercise at least 30mins each day. Take care 💜

Hi :) mine wasn't high risk but if I'd waited a few months more it would have been. My function was close to 10% and creatinine was nearly 500. If your doctors recommend a transplant id say yes instantly. Its changed my life for the best!
My scar has healed nicely over the few months. I had staples to close my wound but others might have glue and stitches. My scar is a little wider now because I've put on weight and stretched my skin. But it doesn't hurt and most of the time I forget it's even there.
What's scaring you the most? I was more scared mentally. Thinking about how my recovery will go and if the kidney will be accepted. I wasn't really scared about being operated on.

I was really nervous as well mate. I was more nervous about my recovery than the actually operation. I would say, ask your surgeon and doctors as many questions as possible. They know all the answers so if something is worrying you ask them everything! Good luck mate. Hope everything goes well 🙏🏼👍🏽
The main problem you face is rejection. If your immune system is too strong it can reject your kidney leading to failure. I've suffered from a little bit of that alrwsdy but it's being treated. The other problems are the same as every other non transplant patient - you still have to look after your blood pressure, your weight and make you eat well and drink lots of water. Your recovery will always be hard at times just stay strong and postive and you'll get there 👍🏽
My uncle has 1 kidney, when he was 4 years old dr had removed his kidney,, but now when he is 35 years old his 2nd kidney is on dialysis bcz his kidney doesn't wrking well., should he goes on dialysis for whole life or transplant his kidney?????

I was really nervous as well mate. I was more nervous about my recovery than the actually operation. I would say, ask your surgeon and doctors as many questions as possible. They know all the answers so if something is worrying you ask them everything! Good luck mate. Hope everything goes well 🙏🏼👍🏽

The main problem you face is rejection. If your immune system is too strong it can reject your kidney leading to failure. I've suffered from a little bit of that alrwsdy but it's being treated. The other problems are the same as every other non transplant patient - you still have to look after your blood pressure, your weight and make you eat well and drink lots of water. Your recovery will always be hard at times just stay strong and postive and you'll get there 👍🏽
