I've just never noticed tobacco tasting different through the bowl or the tin unless its been in there for at least a year aging.
Saving for a pipe makes it that much sweeter when in arrives.
Agreed.
To me the tobacco moisture, the type of pipe and the setting (at home vs out doing an activity) have significant impact.
I save the ‘exotic’ & ‘unicorn’ blends for relaxing at home. I feel thats when I get the most out of them.

This one bit me at first but I think that was user error. I’m convinced this stuff will age nicely and the price is good. I’ve got a few tins put away but I haven’t stocked up. I’ve definitely seen forum posts about decanting tobacco and the benefits of letting it breath, I think you’re on to something.
It makes alot of sense when you think about it scientifically.

I know this is an older video, but i figured id go back and watch some of your videos that i have missed.
Funny enough, me and Steve ( Smoking Cardboard) were talking about "letting tins breathe" a month or two ago. Whenever i get a tin that i want to try, i usually open it, and let it get some air for at least a week or two before ill even try it. I find that the tobacco changes a lot, but if i try it too soon, that first bowl that had not gotten a chance to "open up" will effect my opinion negatively.
