Travelers Palm Trimming Tips

The Travaler's Palm is probably one of nature's most majestic plants, in my view. I have one in a large pot here in south Louisiana that I may have accidentally killed. I bought it from a farm in south Florida where it was probably grown under shade cloth. When I moved it to direct sun, the leaves curled up and became unsightly. I trimmed all of them off except one remaining leaf. It too was knarly and unsightly, as I'm acclimating it to full sun. I trimmed off all of the final leaf just leaving a single, leafless stalk. That's been a few days ago. I was expecting to see a fresh "spear" emerging before now, and still nothing. Have I killed it? It's Sept. 6, 2023 here and still quite warm with a high today in the high 90's! What do you think? Wait a while longer before I declare death? Great video, BTW. Thanks for posting.

how should one geet erid of insects and should sides showing browing be totally removed and remaining bark treated with insecticide or ?

I don't use insecticide but I think it ok around the base, you can leave if it is just some brown@@thom3820
