It was weird that EA/Maxis made laptop-friendly versions of the Sims 2 because as a kid , we never had super beefy desktop or laptop PCs and The Sims 2 with a couple of expansion packs ran perfectly fine. This wasn't the case with The Sims 3 though 😂.
I loved Castaway endings, if you decide to give Reinhardt youth then he becomes a toddler and someone adopts him, you can play with him as a toddler LMAOOO
Fun fact: after finishing "Best in the Show" you can from the neighbourhood view check Diana and Precious to learn that the seesaw is actually Precious's weakest trick and it's the least trained in it.
Castaway Stories was my FAVE out of the "Stories" games. I remember getting the game back in 2008 and I stayed up allllllllllll night until I completed it.
I dunno if you ever sat out to be a cozy channel but this has become my favorite cozy place, tonight I have hot chocolate, a snuggly cuddly sleepy puppy, it's 10:25 pm on a Alabama Thursday night, approximately 34 degrees, grilled cheese and tomato soup here in a few, imma turn out all the lights, leaving nothing but shadows on the walls and lass as company, hiiii chat, hope y'all doing alright 😇
I remember being a wee youngin playing Castaway for PC only to pick the local you picked as a love interest and when they moved in together, finding out he has the romance aspiration and the first thing he wants to do is kiss 3 sims and have 5 love interests at the same time 😂 Been picking the girl option ever since lmao
the sims life stories was my true intro into PC Sims game play. I loved bustin out for the GBA and Sims 2 for the DS, so when i saw it in Walmart i got my dad to get it for me back when i was like 9. I literally played it for HOURS the first night. I remember getting stuck at the "im so charming" want with Dylan and figuring out what i was supposed to do like a week later! Thank you for covering this! i really wish they made more of these because they were so good individually and together!!
I miss when the sims had storylines in some of their games. I love free play mode but those classics like bustin out or urbz were sooo good. I hope they add plots to the next game or have another stories at least
Sims Life stories was my first sims game. The nostalgia🥺!!!! I also feel like you would LOVE Baldurs gate 3. It’s not cozy like your usual games but the world and characters have such compelling stories
Life Stories was my first Sims game experience as a child and it will forever remain my favorite! 😍 Growing up I had an abusive dad so ngl I probably spent like most of my childhood playing it on my sister's pc when she went out with her friends, it was a perfect escape from reality... I loved the gameplay but I especially loved the osts even more. I still come back to listen to these bangers once in a while ❤
I can't even express how much I love these games. 😂 I'm a life-long TS2 player, but these are so perfect when you just want something to take your mind off things for a weekend. And they are INSANE. 🤣 Riley's story is iconic. After TSM, these are like peak Sims ridiculousness.
i remember seeing the cd for the Sims 2 Life Stories at the mall while my dad went out to have some photos printed. I begged him to get it for me and we got it running on my little netbook. My sister and I spent hours playing this game that summer. Good times
I love these and even have copies of them myself. I pretty much have all the sims games and expansions for PC except for sims 4. Never got deep into sims 4. But I even own Sims 1 complete collection sealed and Sims cast away stories sealed. They’re becoming more rare sealed these days
I'm so happy someone is talking about the Sims Stories games! The Sims Life Stories is the first Sims game I ever played as a kid and still have my original copy, I still play the Sims 2 today! I love your commentary and seeing the other games in the series that I've never looked at before, it was a breath of fresh air to watch this.
I'm fairly new to your channel and I've been watching nothing but your videos for the last week or two (I've now seen every single one!) So I'm super excited for a new one!! 🎉
I always get so excited when I see you've made a new video!!! This series of games is absolutely wild! I never played them when they came out but I remember them existing back then. I do feel like Sims 2 was the peak era for like, bizarreness 😂🤷♀
I've been binging your videos and omg I would love to see you play any of the ds rune factory games!! Those games were my childhood, one of my all time favorite series
I never really played Pet Stories and Life Stories, but i did play a lot of Castaway Stories, as i didn't have a console so i couldn't play The Sims 2 Castaway, so The Sims Castaway Stories on PC was my fix for that. (not entirely sure if the regular Sims 2 had content from Castaway Stories, i didn't own the Bon Voyage Expansion as a kid, only got it later on through the Ultimate Collection on Origin.... i mean, the EA app) I had The Sims Stories games on my laptop at the time, while i had the ''full'' Sims 2 game on the family PC. I liked how the Story games adjusted the graphics settings on the fly based on if i'm playing using the battery or plugged into the wall, along with showing a battery indicator in-game at the top right (i think) and also warning me to save and quit when the battery percentage got to 10%. The full Sims 2 game doesn't have that, asfar as i know.
This is one of my earliest memories. As i kid i didn't speak english, so playing the sims took a lot of guess work. I remember one of the objectives in Rylie's(or how ever its spelt) is to hit on Micky. I didn't really understand that hit on was a romatic interaction and i thought she was supposed to fight Micky, and there i was a 9 year old me, spending hours trying to make them enemies so she can fight him
After replayed Sims 3 and watch your video. I concluded because of the Sims 4, we forgot how dangerous it can be in the Sims' universe. Only play Sims 3 again for 5 hours and there are 6 dead with 2 burnt alive, 1 from a electrocution and 3 from Meteor Shower.
I’ve been loving your nostalgia look into these sims spinoffs I’ve watched almost all of them tonight!! I loved playing multiplayer on sims 2 ps2 and my enjoyment of survival games definitely started on castaway for psp 😅
Installing the Sims 2 Life Stories, Pet Stories and Castaway Stories is a bit tricky to install unlike the main Sims 2 game since you have to tweak some settings with downloading a piece of software that optimizes the game to work correctly.
I can vividly recall back then when the stories are freshly released, I was still a kid, and I was so torn between the EPs and these... every time I get to have a new sims game I always ended up getting the EPs instead. Although I get to have castaway in the end, life and pets have always been a mystery for me. good times, good times...
Every time you upload a new video I get so excited!! Thank you so much for go through all of these super nostalgic games! Also, hell yeah, a whole hour of wonderful content 🙌
Oh my lord, I was a neopets kid too hahaha! I learned HTML and CSS on that website and years and years later, got a job as a web developer and software engineer lmao. I absolutely attribute that to Neopets XD
I found your channel through Nontendo and now I am sad I have seen all your sims videos and I am eager for more haha. Also you mentioned doing Rune Factory that's a big yes!
I never even knew these existed. I wish Sims would at least include some optional story mode things like this now (and maybe they do and I just can't find them)
I wish sims 4 sulani island had a castaway game play where if you swam in the ocean during a storm. You'd get swept away and be lost, so your family wouldn't be able to find you until you became a mermaid or made a raft.
24:57 AAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I feel I should've seen that one coming given the story, but WOW. That was so brutal and unnecessary it was hilarious! XD
I remember having this game and not being able to play it on the laptop/computer I had at the time I was so sad. Eventually it did work but super fucking slow and it sucked. So this is bringing a lot of memories back. Thank you, I love it!
I played Sims 1 with multiple expansion packs and then Sims 2 when it came out. I never paid attention to the lore or paid any heed to the preexisting Sims. I only wanted to play with Sims I created, so when I hear people upset that lore is missing from the Sims 4, I genuinely don't remember any of that. I started playing Sims 4 in November, and I love the infants and toddlers and populating the game with my own families. This storyline reminds me of any predictable bad drama.I would be eager to get it over with to do my own thing.
My TikTok brain rot is so bad that when I looked at the chapters of the video and saw the first one called “what is the sims stories” and I thought it was like the TikTok search bar that shows up in the comments 😭😭😭
The Stories spin off were elite! Gods, I miss the times when the Sims series was actually good… Also, some Sims fans have recreated the Stories neighborhoods, so that you can download them for Sims 2! Riley’s neighborhood in particular got a huge update last summer, and it is elite now! :) So now you can have the awesome story neighborhoods AND the full Sims expansion experience! Other modders have even also managed to recreate the exclusive furniture, build stuff and story rewards for Sims 2 as well! It’s all fairly easy to find if you google a bit, and I highly recommend it for the full Sims 2 expanded experience
You should definitely try out the Final Fantasy spin off games like Crystal Chronicles. Also similarly the Dark Cloud/Dark Chronicle series, it’s a great fantasy series that’s sort of like a mixture of FF and Zelda that I could see you really enjoy playing! 💚
The satellite falling on Naomi made my jaw drop 😭
my jaw is currently ON THE FLOOR
i audibly gasped
So comical 🤣🤣
Such a classic and hilarious way for a sim to die, completely just unwarranted and spontaneous
And it was Vincent's own satellite
I will truly never understand why EA abandoned deep lore/story based Sims games
everyone who cared about the sims sadly left development a long time ago
@@PeachesHoneyBunjoy!
too much work I guess
Because EA wasn't the original company that owned the sims, they bought it and then ruined it.
because they can release broken, buggy dlc every couple months and make tons more money.
Oh wow, RIley's story has that tragic twist at the end. She was knocked up by a DJ
Knocked up by a DJ, you hate to see it
A DJ with an annoying laugh, no less.
You guys hate them, don't you? I do get why.
A DJ with the romantic aspiration, the worst part
a PARTY DJ no less, like damn girl.
The riley story genuinely blew me away I didnt know their writers were that genius
It's incredible. TSM is peak sims insanity when it comes to the writing, but the stories are definitively the runners up 🤣
I'm genuinely in love with the idea of Sims storymodes being straight up romcoms. Not even parodies or satire, just a genuine traditional romcom.
Sims 2 Life Stories were absolute peak Sims. I would love for more of them to be made! I’d actually pay for DLC
This was my experience too - The Sims 3 ran so horribly on my laptop. It fried my motherboard trying to run it 😭
Every Christmas and birthday was me begging either for more ram or a new graphics card. Can't say I miss that part 😄
SIms 3 was actually ahead of its time by only running well on PCs that didn't exist yet :)
@gina-hp2josaaame it wasn’t easy at all
@@briteeni Jesus, new fear unlocked

I was NOT prepared for 24:55 JEEEEEEEESUS

I love how all of the old sims game were about finding love🤣 I know there’s more lore but I always love how that’s a part of it hahahaha
Makes it feel more like a movie, since those always have an obligatory romance plot.
@@houraisheperd9721 lmao very true!
Castaway Stories was my FAVE out of the "Stories" games. I remember getting the game back in 2008 and I stayed up allllllllllll night until I completed it.
A detail I love is that the sim in the car who comes to get the aunt is Dylan !

Sounds like a dream ^^ you deserved it
That sounds so frickin cozy 🥰
I've fallen into the Harvest Moon/Rune Factory hyperfixation hole the past days so YES??? PLEASE??? DO THOSE SERIES NEXT??? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I loved harvest moon as a kid. But I have yet to get equally obsessed with rune factory despite having both Wii and DS rune factorys. Please help!
Yes Rune Factory! :) needs more attention
My favorite farming sim by far too.
thank you for continuing to deliver and serve mama! i needed this!
I see anything Sims 2: Castaway-related, I click
Jessica's bather got my attention.
Yes!

Life Stories was my intro to the Sims 2! I replayed Riley's story soooooo many times as a kid
The first four of these felt like a Hallmark film, and the last one was like a lost Tomb Raider movie. But either way, I loved the video
the sims life stories was my true intro into PC Sims game play. I loved bustin out for the GBA and Sims 2 for the DS, so when i saw it in Walmart i got my dad to get it for me back when i was like 9. I LOVED Sim Stories!!! Bought all of them again in Origin way back when. The story for Life Stories is still one of my favorites of that series.
"Stephen is just so fucking dumb" Damn Liss, I know you aren't talking about me but I kinda felt it. lmao
I can't believe that Sims franchise was so fun to play.
Life Stories was my Sims 2 and man i miss it so much! It was the best sims era of them all.

the SSX 3 game discs being displayed during Stephen’s story 🫶🏻 great game great soundtrack

Castaway Stories was such a blast. Still play it from time to time.

I'm legit confused how these are laptop friendly looking at the freeplay modes. They seem to run at the same level of detail as normal Sims 2.

Sims 4 *kinda* has stories in the form of challenges, but it's very watered down compared to this.
The satellite had me SHOCKED when I played this lol

These are like if Hallmark movies just completely lost their mind
And honestly, I want to see them.
i was obsessed with this game i hope my mom didn’t throw them out because i’d love to play it again
the laugh from that guy you said reminded you of something. its a lot like the yellow eyed bully in A Christmas Story

the world will heal once EA creates narrative based sims games again
love the simssss
i remember these, they were a lot of fun at the time. where can i find them now???
Oldgamesdownload . Com :)
