@MrMajugi It's only attacking the hatchery, which is actually only like 4 squares away or something. The animation is anchored to a semi-random point on the hatchery, which gave the sentry the appearance of having a longer range than it actually does.
Don't know if the infestors just spawned or what but he definitely could have just used those to spawn infested terran and fungal growth the top where the sentries were just sitting by themselves
Minigun (blue) is using units called 'stalkers' who have an upgrade that lets them teleport. He is also using 'sentries' who can make force fields. He uses the stalkers' teleport to sneak into the enemy base, then uses the sentries to create force fields, trapping the army outside. When he's done, he lets the force fields down and tricks the enemy into coming up to attack, then he blinks his army down and uses force fields to trap the army again while he destroys all of the remaining buildings!
@ElpabloDaVinc He used the flying thing to carry some units up on the upper level and to give sight up there for the walking metal things to teleport there, then used the little round bug things to block the ramp, essentially bypassing the bulk of the enemy army and locking him out of his own main base. Then while he was destroying their base and they were panicking, he was making static defences at his own base ready for the inevitable counter-attack when the bug player realised he was screwed.
@musikislyphe Blood circulation might be part of it, but it also has to do with keeping a rhythm. If you let yourself slow down, it's hard to "wind up" again when you really need to focus. This is also why a lot of pros do complicated worker splits at the very start of the game, even though there is almost no real economic difference between that and just doing a basic 2-split. I don't think this happens as often in shooters, because shooters typically are more about twitch skill than rhythm.
From starting out bronze league and laddering all the way to grandmasters in the short period of time Starcraft 2 hasbeen out, I have nothing but respect and admiration for Minigun.
@Jackge1337 Burrow move is usually not researched until the later stages of the game. In this case(10.30) and if this type of play went unscouted then there's not alot that the zerg can do.
@Rko453 Burrow? He had no obs (i dont think) Nydus in your nat and then make a worm iny our main so you can travel between the two? Infestors with burrow? spines in your main? Lots of ways;.
@LoseAsDirected I do know the names, but he (and many others) apparently doesn't know the game (as this was posted in r/gaming as well as r/starcraft) so I decided to make it clear for a non-SC2 fan. Thanks for the complement though.
@InViCtExXiI there were obs out and tunneling makes you vulnerable to attack. He would have lost a decent amount of roaches by the time they were out. Not to mention that blink micro + guardian shield would have made it a good fight anyways.
@AllstarHunE im pretty sure the main point of this video was to showcase the micro. Did you even notice that he was constantly positioning his stalkers and putting up forcefields?
was the song put into the video? or did it actually play like that during the game? LOL parts of the song fit perfectly with what is going on, so awesome
@herpderpmonkey collo's r still affected by fungle fyi also its possible to minimise the negative effects of ff by letiing the protoss waste energy or somehow snipe the sentries also u reaslise that guardian shield costs energy right so he cant use both skills fully
@MrGoose526 Yeah 100 Energy is so unskillful. You should be able to chain fungal growth, spam EMP, use nuke, Seeker missile, or turrets super fast and successively.
@VoidBen It's to keep themselves nimble. There's only a handful of players that will click the same spot a couple times (as opposed to perhaps a dozen) that saves them maybe a couple millisecond considering how quick they do it. Need to be constantly moving, once you get sluggish, it's hard to get out of being sluggish.
@FishTurd69 Actually that's not what cheese originally meant nor is its nowadays broader implications. It's hard to define with one sentence but what cheese MOSTLY revovlve around is it depends on luck more than skill and doing something in hopes of something, instead of in reaction of somthing. Such as a BO win (6 pool vs hatch first), or 16nexus w.o scout, or banshee/DT rush. Cuz it's a either u get it you in advantage or u didn't get it you are in shit kind of situation. This isnt
@Kodaheid None taken, obviously minigun baited the zerg army into coming up the ramp and then mini blinked down and FF'd the ramp again*. Notice I said again as in if he just sent a couple of lings to see where the protoss army was instead of committing to an attack. Like for instance the one right here which cost him the game. sorry for horrible grammar, super tired.
@herpderpmonkey well at least ff still has counters as opposed to fungal growth, also good positioning counters ff and u don't have to tech at all to get that
@Juan29322 I dont see your point. You just agreed that I have to obtain two upgrades for roaches to slowly make their way up my ramp while he is owning me with is stalkers while I move under the forcefield. This seems fair? Hmmmm
@kamikrazi123 That was for the late game. You cant possibly get massive ground units early game. Im a zerg player and if protoss did not have forcefield it would be impossible for me to lose.
@InViCtExXiI You don't blink into roaches...you blink your injured units to the back of the line. Stalkers have a higher range then roaches and can blink to the back to save its life and start regening shields. You could try to focus that injured stalker but your roaches would have to come forward and thus not be attacking for a small amount of time. Also, your strat would need two forms of research that the player didn't have and cost 250/250. Big investment for a situational use.
@xujploxjux Right, i've NEVER seen a Z break protoss front with cannons and FF and building placement vs (usually) roach/ling/infestor. They just idle their base until they have beath ball to move out which was the whole damn issue Z's were complaining about when P started doing the 3 base void collosus death ball.
@herpderpmonkey that's why as a zerg you aren't supposed to just attack straight on you go for counter attacks, never attack a terran or protoss army head on make them split their army and just pummel their bases!
the prob with you idea which im not saying is bad is that going back to a force field every 15 sec would make mico managing way to hard for people that aren't minigun to do and if your good enough to hit it every 15 sec exactly your energy will last longer anyways
the memories. this music is miniguns entire playstyle/aesthetic. so fitting
I agree, such symmetry between the music and his mechanics.
between the music and the play, still one of my favorite SC2 clips
lol omg, the music fits this so well
@MrMajugi It's only attacking the hatchery, which is actually only like 4 squares away or something. The animation is anchored to a semi-random point on the hatchery, which gave the sentry the appearance of having a longer range than it actually does.
*waiting for your opponent to gg back*
*no gg :(*
He had to keep nailing those force fields
Don't know if the infestors just spawned or what but he definitely could have just used those to spawn infested terran and fungal growth the top where the sentries were just sitting by themselves
This is the greatest sc2 video ever made.
haha yep he beat me pretty badly, i wish he had gg'd me though that's why I waited so long ;p

With this Music i picture you dancing around in a top hat like an old Disney cartoon being the character that no one can catch or harm.
@weighweiwre The name of the song is: Parov Stelar - Catgroove
The song is "Parov Stelar - Catgroove".
@BedsideGnome the song is Catgroove, by Parov Stelar
@ElpabloDaVinc He used the flying thing to carry some units up on the upper level and to give sight up there for the walking metal things to teleport there, then used the little round bug things to block the ramp, essentially bypassing the bulk of the enemy army and locking him out of his own main base. @iMonstarify song is Parov Stelar - Catgroove
Thanks for the electro swing mini bro, I remember you every time
It hurt me to watch a fellow zerg go down, but that was incredibly well executed.
Will be looking out for it in the future you cheeky protoss'!
@musikislyphe Blood circulation might be part of it, but it also has to do with keeping a rhythm. If you let yourself slow down, it's hard to "wind up" again when you really need to focus. that play around 2:40
I love the way the stalkers blinking up to the zerg main syncs with the music at 0:20.
@QUACKAR You press 'd' for unload, then you click on the warp prism and it will unload the units as you move it around
I love how the music syncs up with his initial attack.
From starting out bronze league and laddering all the way to grandmasters in the short period of time Starcraft 2 hasbeen out, I have nothing but respect and admiration for Minigun.
It's been 6 months. I know the song is called Parov Stelar-Catgroove.
@Jackge1337 Burrow move is usually not researched until the later stages of the game. In this case(10.30) and if this type of play went unscouted then there's not alot that the zerg can do.
the feel of the clip with the song makes it more amazing :)
@adc1222
I'm pretty sure it did, I just don't remember who casted it
Wow... that move at the end, moving out and tricking him into going into his main... damn... pretty nice...
Music fits perfectly and the tactic is so cool.
@DantoraMandova I think this is Caravan Palace. I dont remember the song name
Oh man I never have so much fun watching a replay. Minigun, you ROCK~!
@Rko453 Burrow?
He had no obs (i dont think)
Nydus in your nat and then make a worm iny our main so you can travel between the two?
Infestors with burrow?
spines in your main?
Lots of ways;.
@leemcdeviant A surprisingly accurate assessment of the situation from a person who doesn't even know the names of the units. Thumbs up, my good man.
Song name Parov Stelar - Catgroove
@xxenome It's Catgroove by Parov Stelar.
this was uploaded over a year ago so it was pretty impressive now it is a more well know strat
@LoseAsDirected I do know the names, but he (and many others) apparently doesn't know the game (as this was posted in r/gaming as well as r/starcraft) so I decided to make it clear for a non-SC2 fan. Thanks for the complement though.
@iMonstarify Catgroove by Parov Stelar, not surprised that it's by Parov Stelar.
I love when someone plays this well! That must of been fun.
@InViCtExXiI there were obs out and tunneling makes you vulnerable to attack. He would have lost a decent amount of roaches by the time they were out. Not to mention that blink micro + guardian shield would have made it a good fight anyways.
That cheeky music just tells u the lolz that are coming.......oh main that trumpet in sync with those forcefields!!!!!!
This kind of play is what makes Protoss such a sexy race.
@InViCtExXiI in case you did not see Mini had an observer and also cannons at his natural
I barely play the game, and I can tell you, Nydus network between bases or Drop Tech to get your army back up and down if forcefielded
@AllstarHunE im pretty sure the main point of this video was to showcase the micro. Did you even notice that he was constantly positioning his stalkers and putting up forcefields?
The second drop was such a killer.
@QUACKAR i think you press drop and click on the warp prism
Song is Catgroove by Parov Stelar. Just super saiyan
Now we know what Suppy had to go through. Now, he's in EG and Minigun is in coL. Great vid to look back to.
was the song put into the video? or did it actually play like that during the game? LOL parts of the song fit perfectly with what is going on, so awesome
@Kodaheid The forcefield placement might not have been legendary but it was his thought and plan that was great, so yeah, he did outplay the zerg
@herpderpmonkey collo's r still affected by fungle fyi also its possible to minimise the negative effects of ff by letiing the protoss waste energy or somehow snipe the sentries also u reaslise that guardian shield costs energy right so he cant use both skills fully
This music was perfect for this video.
@MrGoose526 Yeah 100 Energy is so unskillful. You should be able to chain fungal growth, spam EMP, use nuke, Seeker missile, or turrets super fast and successively.
Crap that was sick. If the Zerg had burrow, he could've burrowed user the forcefields but idk if that would've made a difference.
@LasseLundster I suspect Minigun actually has a winning record against Idra.
@VoidBen
It's to keep themselves nimble. There's only a handful of players that will click the same spot a couple times (as opposed to perhaps a dozen) that saves them maybe a couple millisecond considering how quick they do it.

@MrMajugi it was two sentries on a row x) it looked like the same beam from one tho
@AnAngryFetus Artist is Parov Stellar. Dunno the track. They pretty much all sound like this though...awesome shit.
if i ever want to learn protoss...miniguns vids are the way to go
@Kodaheid None taken, obviously minigun baited the zerg army into coming up the ramp and then mini blinked down and FF'd the ramp again*. Notice I said again as in if he just sent a couple of lings to see where the protoss army was instead of committing to an attack. The way CmfJ (Chad muthahfuckin Jones) is toying with his opponent goes really well with the music.
@herpderpmonkey well at least ff still has counters as opposed to fungal growth, also good positioning counters ff and u don't have to tech at all to get that
When he reverses the ff'd roaches just makes my day
As a protoss subscribed to this channel...i know the feeling
Haha the music and the thought of that player raging so hard makes it funny xD
@0elwray Parov Stelar-Catgroove (album Coco Ep)
With the music?..that was so great. Mini makes me want to play toss.
@F1ng0riginal thank you for your input. I value bronze player's thoughts.
the music timing is perfect!
@Juan29322 I dont see your point. You just agreed that I have to obtain two upgrades for roaches to slowly make their way up my ramp while he is owning me with is stalkers while
I move under the forcefield. This seems fair? Hmmmm
@kamikrazi123 That was for the late game. You cant possibly get massive ground units early game. Im a zerg player and if protoss did not have forcefield it would be impossible for me to lose.
@tmweb95 It didnt seem to me that that zerg was using infestors...
legend. RIP minigun, gonetoo soon
@InViCtExXiI You don't blink into roaches...you blink your injured units to the back of the line. @tmweb95 infestors are tier 2 (lair tech)
@abusedbunny it's called air units.
@Uselessfinger what... if you have tunneling burrow it can go straight under the ff... also Minigun had no obs....
Chad, in all honesty, might be one of the best protoss's in NA... he just doesn't play in enough tourneys. He is seriously great.
Those forcefields are sick
@samusaran13372
Nonono I wasn't saying it was a bad idea, it's just yo said "he had no obs (i dont think)" and I was correcting you :D
The awkward moment when your opponent waits for your gg after they gg
@LethalBanana56 catgroove by parov stelar I believe
this looks literally unstoppable
Perfect music timing
Roaches can burrow under the force-feilds what a derp.
@easyco778 Cuz he has sentries. Press F a few times and you've got a freakin invinsible wall.
@aToxicLemon So? You would lose at most 4 roaches while you're going up the ramp.
That was a thing of beauty.
@herpderpmonkey that's why as a zerg you aren't supposed to just attack straight on you go for counter attacks, never attack a terran or protoss army head on make them split their army and just pummel their bases!
I have recently switched race to zerg and realised how underpowered they are should I go to protoss? They to me seem the best
that warp prism play needs to be used a lot more too
the prob with you idea which im not saying is bad is that going back to a force field every 15 sec would make mico managing way to hard for people that aren't minigun to do and if your good enough to hit it every 15 sec exactly your energy will last longer anyways
>Implying you could ever be as good as Minigun.
This kind of stuff happens a lot... I don't know why it's on the front page.
@xujploxjux right, that's why Blizzard had to revise FF so taht massive units can break them down after they saw how strong the ability is right?
@MrMajugi That was two sentries.
damn, i never new minigun was this good
