Awesome awesome video Greg A, I agree 100% on the reason for the use of fluid damper, you swear by them, and the power I’ve seen your trucks put out over the years, I’ve not seen any issues from them yet. If they’ll handle your power levels, they’ll handle anyone else’s.
Good job on all the videos 👍. Happy your back ! Keep up the awesome videos coming. I've always had dodge gassers but considering a diesel. What's the best year of dodge diesel you think?
Ik I'm not GregA but it all depends on budget and what're you doing with it. I love my third gen 24v 5.9 only downside is the junk trans 150k on it and it doesn't wanna handle the mods I've put on it.
I understand the need to push products to get the bucks to continue to come in, but for the love of god please finish a project. Any project. Ten dodge trucks and a semi... pick one.
I'm still hoping maybe I will click on one of these videos and a project will get completed....but it just seems like Greg adds another one and then does one thing on each of them alternating for the next 79 years......
Hey Greg I love your videos and I was wondering if you might could make a video on some common problems you have had with your 3rd gen 6.7, I am looking to buy one here soon and I would love to hear what you have seen and what you think about them. Thanks and keep up the great videos!
In the process of removing the fan clutch from a 2018 6.7 Cummins, does it come off with a clockwise spin or counterclockwise spin? Righty or Lefty? Many thanks
Why do they use bolts when it seems like all other similar components the "upgrade" is to use studs? For example exhaust manifold studs and head studs.
Would a bad harmonic balancer possibly cause a service engine light sometimes? I got a 94 6.5 Detroit and sometimes around 2k rpm I get a service engine light but it doesn't stay on if it goes bellow of above it goes away
Hey Greg, i'm just wondering what are the right color code of your old TEAL paint setup on some parts like old turbo of the 08, i love that color and i want to powdercoat some of my parts like this..
Aren't 6.7 dampners already the fluid style as opposed to the early style 5.9 which was a composite style prone to failure. From my understanding the oem 6.7 dampners are fluid design and a lot of guys swap them into they're 5.9s
6.7 OEM balancers are viscous style. However, they are not Fluidampr nor SFI rated. Fluidampr's sister company Vibratech invented viscous dampers in 1946 for heavy duty diesel applications (Class 8, gen-sets, locomotive, etc.). Unfortunately, there are offshore imposters that are not held to the same quality standards. For a 6.7 damper to work on a 5.9 all the serpentine drive accessories would have to be relocated as the belt location is different.
Whys everyone getting so mad about all the projects? He has what 3 trucks that arent running? The 08 and the semi and the first gen just needs the trans back in it. The 1970 isn't going to be running overnight so that's not even worth getting worked up about
Tell ya what I don’t even have A cummins but I’ve been A fan since the triple turbo build. It’s hard not to watch I like watching people that I can learn shit from even if it means I’ll never need it.
R&W Diesel its really an rpm thing if you trun the 4200 rpm then yea it will be another line of defence for keeping that thing in place but if not then just the damper is good
great video but the video title is terrible. I have been looking for videos about fluidampr and yours by far is the best but i didnt know what this video was about until i did some research about fluidampr and knew that you need to drill the crankshaft. would have watched this long ago if it had a better title name.
SFI is a not for profit safety sanctioning body used in most motorsports sanctions. SFI 18.1 in particular relates to harmonic dampers/balancers and their structural integrity. To pass 18.1 the balancer must be spun to 13,000 rpm (+/- 500 rpm) for a minimum of 1 hr. without degrading/separating.
Banks just did a video on this in one of his unboxings. So the crankshaft is what takes torsional loading as the connecting rods push down. This results in vibrations going up and down mostly ... so what? you'll fudge your bearings up big time without one. Fluidampers help counter that torsional loading that creates vibrations. I didn't really understand this until I saw Banks video... dudes too smart and explains it in a way that make sense.
Greg I’ve been following you for almost 5 years now, love your videos because the content was straight forward and correct. Can you please quit being a damn spokesman and get back to working on your trucks. Your info is great but nowhere close towards what it once was. #12valve
To be honest man ever since you moved I feel like your videos are more about promoting peoples products instead of just building your trucks. I loved your page when it was building the first gen but now it’s just getting kinda weird.
Tommy sendIt I haven’t been subbed since he sold the original drag truck, I just happened to see this in my recommended, channel really has gone downhill
Hey Greg can you please talk a little bit slower? Not gonna lie the first 2 minutes was kinda difficult understand and comprehend because you were talking so damn fast
Greg standing in the middle of a sea of broken/half finished trucks, talking about his o.c.d on balancer bolts😂😂
Will there be a pop quiz on harmonics next time ole Greg A?! Lol I appreciate you dropping some knowledge!
Nice to have a UA-camr that lives in Kentucky that I love to watch. Keep it up and be safe. I live in Russell Springs Kentucky.
Can’t wait to see what the G56 can hold with all at HP!
Dillon Mitri don’t know if he already has one but hopefully we’ll see that beefed up cpp g56
So happy Greg A is back, when’s Andy gonna visit!!
Macho man Andy savage
Fluidamper's are a main stay in the DSM community, they even make them for large diesels like the ISX cummins. Can't wait to get one for my pete.
Always fun drilling into your engine! Lol
Severed Chad yo bro love your channel especially your green truck with the shlong bed
XprtGunner thanks my man!

That is some great information to know a race cummins truck is something i would really like to build one day.
Now I wants to run out an buy one , Greg could sell snake oil I'm sure.
This is classic Greg right here. Nice install and explanation vid. 👍
In Arnold Schwarzeneggers voice "who's your daddy and what does he do" kindergarten cop
Last time I was this early he had a triple turbo Cummins
Jeremy Mitchell and the last time anybody cared about how early you were your parents were fishing around with a coat hanger, it’s a shame the missed.

Get a Pittsburgh Power Dampener for the CAT for sure, and a switch blade turbski, best in the game
Awesome video Greg. I learned a shit load today 💪🏻🤙🏻

Ahhhhh the ol’ Greg_A Weather Report. Nostalgic.
Is the friction washer necessary on top of pinning it? I already have a Fleece barring tool and don’t want to drop another $200 on the full power kit.
I'm still hoping maybe I will click on one of these videos and a project will get completed....but it just seems like Greg adds another one and then does one thing on each of them alternating for the next 79 years......
Bin Dope yes it’s called multi tasking I do the same A.D.D is my excuse
Multitasking is doing multiple tasks at one time.....not collecting tasks
Dang, I just said the same thing 7 hours after this. I should have read the comments first.
Ah fk greg keeping it fresh. Thanks 4 the upload. What up hunter?!

Gale banks just released a video with a lot of good info on how fluid dampers works
In the process of removing the fan clutch from a 2018 6.7 Cummins, does it come off with a clockwise spin or counterclockwise spin? Righty or Lefty?
Many thanks
Just curious I notice the hoods of all the trucks are open, you workin on all of them at the same time?
I’d leave all the hoods open also just to look at all that jewelry under there when I walked by haha
I think the dually and the grandpa first gen are only trucks that aren’t under scalpel right now
Brian houk lol true
Stock ISX has a fluid or "viscous" damper and the QSXs will have two stacked for certin applications
You should contact Banks Power Products for a better harmonic balancer for your diesel motors
Why do they use bolts when it seems like all other similar components the "upgrade" is to use studs? For example exhaust manifold studs and head studs.
Have you talked to Johnny sendit and jessie. We miss them
Viscous fluid in the damper
I think he should move back home vids were so much better with Johnny send it
Would a bad harmonic balancer possibly cause a service engine light sometimes? I got a 94 6.5 Detroit and sometimes around 2k rpm I get a service engine light but it doesn't stay on if it goes bellow of above it goes away
Hell yeah. I'm like 10 min. Away from fluidamper in Springville ny.
GO BILLS!
With Brady @ Tampa it might be the year
Hey Greg, i'm just wondering what are the right color code of your old TEAL paint setup on some parts like old turbo of the 08, i love that color and i want to powdercoat some of my parts like this..
If it's filled with silicone fluid does it still feel like real harmonic balancers? I like when balancers feel natural.
What size is your shop looking to build one soon
Once drilled is the crank as a component still balanced?
Once drilled can you ever return to stock configuration?
imatt65 yea just pull the added pin out and put the old damper back on
I feel a fluid damper is a must with a dual disc.
Last time you had a red truck was 2011 or 2012 ?
So a FluidDampr works just like tire balance beads? Pretty cool
Same as front wheel balancers for highway trucks.
Would like to see you get with Goonzquad on a couple of projects.
Greg A =talking lol love the videos keep up the good work
Could be useful when I get my 6.7 alumiduty here in the future and throw some mods at it
Someone tell me how GregA avoids tint tickets
07F150Kingrancher years ago he said that he gets about two or three a year and he just pays them
I want to know what kinda turbocharger ing is he going to do with d52 truck
Gale Banks just did a video on this last week.

So I going to be building my Dakota with a 318 and the nv3500 idk if I should put a turbo on it or a procharger what do you suggest
Pro charger much simpler to install you dont have to worry about oil lines or exhaust pipes and downpipe
Yep rain here also
Good vidz
Greg I have a question for you cause I know if anybody can help its ypu
Why not blue or red loctite?
I can see that being a weak link, good choice.
Tell ya what I don’t even have A cummins but I’ve been A fan since the triple turbo build. It’s hard not to watch I like watching people that I can learn shit from even if it means I’ll never need it.
So if you’re below 700hp do you still need to drill the second dowel?
R&W Diesel its really an rpm thing if you trun the 4200 rpm then yea it will be another line of defence for keeping that thing in place but if not then just the damper is good

Can i ask what SFI is? I guess something about spinning stuff

Give me a price on the exhaust and I will come pick it up
Snap on drills look like they come from Walmart
Tyrel Thibault I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought that 😂
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The 2nd gen is so sexxxy hopefully it’s done soon

Ive had everything come loose on my truck .
Ha
Getting chubby gregggg I
Come on Greg You're talking too much. I'm just kidding buddy I'm just teasing
nice commercial
Sooo long story short, Greg says you’re ruining your truck by modifying it.
There is No such thing as Greg_a Talking to much 👍👍
Sorry typo not free
A little bit of talking; REALLY ?
Hey Greg can you please talk a little bit slower? Not gonna lie the first 2 minutes was kinda difficult understand and comprehend because you were talking so damn fast
20 minute video, talks for 14 of it...
If you would have put the paint strip down the side all the way to the plate the bolts go to if the bolt moves any the line won't line up
