- Amateur video paying homage to the Casio SK-5 keyboard from the mid to late 80’s with an early sampling facility making it a great piece retro fun and first toe dip into playing an electric keyboard while sampling music and sounds, please don’t take this video too seriously it’s just a bit of fun !
Must have been about 1984 when I was in my very early teens and I loved going into town with my hard earned paper round money to buy new12" singles and visiting second hand record shops. My first step into making music happen on a rare visit to Argos where I saw this keyboard on display. I remember then franticly dashing home and back again on the bus. I think this was due to my lack of funds and my need to beg my parents to lend me some money for it. I think I was in a frantic panic because it was the last one and it was reduced. The joy and excitement of actually owning a sampling keyboard!! Not sure what I did with it. Hearing Disco1 again brings back happy memories.

simplicity at its best .-)
Just played with mine after a LONG time, and wow, you have to really yell into the microphone to get it to record.
my favorite ever xmas gift, this video almost made me tear up, i so hard to find now for a reasonable price, i loved this thing so much
So glad you enjoyed it , I kept mine for the same reason I love it and I hope that came across in my video.
is there any way to connect it to computer to use it as a midi keyboard?
My sk5 has mic inputs for recording.. I sample with my phone and aux cable all the time its right on the left hand side.. idk if he knows that lol
Hello!
How can I get one like this??
Let me know, pls.
Search eBay I bought mine in the 80’s but there must be some out there relatively cheap.
Oooo that surf options sick!
Disco II was going off.
Funny that this one has no sampling input from your description but the SK1 does
Samping input is only via the external microphone which was always a shame as the quality was poor and you were always striving to get your sample in as loud as possible !
Can you record samples of record player
Yes but there isn’t an actual Line in, so as crude as it is you have to hold the keyboard next to your speaker !
